“Really? I didn’t really think so, but…thank you?” She laughed a little, tucking a piece of hair behind her ear. She never really found it cool that she’s could speak another language. Though, technically she spoke three, but she wasn’t going to say anything about that. She more found it a burden than anything.
She had to switch her mind to different languages all of the time.
She had to think in a certain language when talking to certain people then speak that language. English came pretty naturally to her now, but Korean still stuck with her through all of her life. Whenever she would get flustered, which happened often and easily, or when she’s really mad , which almost never happened, she would speak in Korean. And the only reason she knew Japanese was because of her high school sweetheart. Back in high school of course, but now he’s dead.
She’s accepted it, so it was all fine, though she was always get really sad whenever she thought about him. They were really tight with each other, the bestest of friends.
He was Japanese. Well half American also, he was born in Japan, so he taught her the majority of the language.
