"Nothing. It's just weird. Listen to this; Eraticxe, xe sidnuforp Ied arutaerc tse. Tiru sireuqes eguf eauq itsicef oitret utepi."
Calix frowned again, but shrugged. "I still don't see what the problem is." he admitted slowly.
language
'I can tell it says something important, but I can't figure it out. I can't take it out of her, or take it to an expert, because they'll ask me where this is from. This paper is OLD."
Alistor sighed and shoved the paper back onto the pedestal.
(that is backwards Latin)
"Ah. Uhm…have you tried Google Translate?" Calix asked slowly, looking at Alistor and the paper. "Or…?"
(ah okay lol)
language
"Yeah, and it doesn't work."
"Ah." Calix frowned a little bit. "Then I have…no idea. Sorry." he shrugged.
language
"Let's go. The rest of the class must be away from that thing by now."
Alistor headed for the door, waving Calix to follow, when a resounding thump echoed through the room, followed by a raspy scrape.
Calix froze at the thump, turning to peer into the room again. "Alistor?" He said slowly, stepping into the room. "Do you have any idea what that was?"
language
Alistor's already pale face when't much whiter.
"I don't know."
Another rasp sounder, and then a soft, but audible cough.
"Who's there?" Calix called in a low tone, frowning.
language
(Hey, sorry I was gone so long)
language
Alistor shone his phone's flashlight into the cluttered room, illuminating the clear plastic cover of the pedestal on the ground, the thing once under it no longer in it's place.
"Where the hell did it go?"
(it's fine)
Calix's eyes flashed. "Alistor…if this is a trick, I'm going to kill you." He said, crossing his arms.
language
“You think I’m messing with you?” Alsitor asked incredulously. “I just came here to get away from that thin-”
What was once on the pedestal now reared up, it’s emaciated face and skull like head snarling in some hellish growl.
Calix let out an undignified screech at the sight, leaping backwards with wide eyes. "What in the fuck?!" he exclaimed.
language
The creature let out another growl.
"Uhh, Calix, it's talking to me." Alistor's shoulders spasmed in terror as it continued to growl. "I-it's saying we have 5 seconds to pray. Then it wants to eat us."
"How the fuck can you understand it??" Calix screeched.
language
"I don't fucking know. Let's haul ass NOW!"
Alistor grabbed Calix's hand and darted from the room, slamming the door unsuccessfully.
Calix held onto his hand, eyes wide as he grabbed at the door to close it again.
language
Alistor huffed, breathless with pure terror as the creature rammed into the door, causing it to shudder and splinter.
"That probably won't hold it long. With our luck, it'll-" The creature bashed the door down and let out a full on roar, sounding like something from hell.
Alistor cursed. "Haul it!!!"
Calix started running, grabbing Alistor's hand again and tugging the other boy with him. "Come on! Somewhere with other people!" He exclaimed.
language
Alistor threw his flashlight at the monster and let Calix pull him along.
Down the hall, the voices of their class could be heard, not growing luder, but somehow getting quieter.
"What is going on?" Alsitor was on the verge of panic as he entered the room where their class had been, now totally empty and silent. "I-" His eyes grew unfocused with fear.
Calix took a deep breath, still holding onto Alistor's hand. "I don't know." he breathed. "Come on." he kept running through the rooms of the museum.
language
The whole building shook with the unearthly shrieks from the creature, slowly growing closer through the halls. “Where do we go now. Where is everyone?”
Calix kept running. "I don't know. Just keep moving!"
language
Alistor hurried along the hall, panic in his eyes.
A wall to the right exploded into a cloud of dust, splintering and filling the two boys with splinters.
"Shit! Left!!!"
Calix swore, loud and long and hard, and turned, tugging Alistor with him. He kept running.
language
The beast let out another roar, reaching out it's claws for Calix, one of it's talons catching him around the waist.
Calix yelped, the yelp immediately followed by the type of swearing that would have made a sailor blush.
language
Reacting without thought, Alistor charged at the monster, smashing a display case that held the ancient sword in it open, grabbing the blade, and plunging it into the beasts back, causing it to shriek and drop Calix.
