"Um, yeah. We all have a problem. That guy just tried to do some voodoo and I don't think he's giving up!" Evelyn slowly backed away from the front of the bakery.
"Right" said Damian, tensing and letting his shadows well up around him. Ready for use. "Anyone know what this guy is?"
"I swear to god if he touches any of ya. He'll be in a fucking death grip faster than you can say 'stop.'"
"I haven't seen this guy before. He's shadier than all of hell."
"No more killing!" said Damian, whipping around to face Asuka, "No killing. Not unless it is absolutely necessary"
Asuka is startled by the sudden outburst, and falls back. "O-ok! Fine! I get it."
"I don't know who he is, but what he did… Whatever he did to me wasn't right!" Evelyn was somewhat nervous and scared.
Asuka gets up and dusts himself off. "No, it wasn't."
"right," said Damian calming down, "And he wasn't just doing it to you"
Asuka looks. "That's… a lot of people."
"Yeah." Says Damian.Watching the crowd, and the man.
"Oh. I was gonna be like them? Oh, oh my god…What the hell is all of this?" Evelyn stares at the man, who notices her, but continues saying the same phrases, gathering people left and right.
"Nothing good obviously" said Damian. "That and not all of thise people are under a spell." He pointed out the few disgusted people who were trickling away.
"Either that or they broke out of it… somehow."
"Well how did I-I mean, how could I be affected? I'm not that powerful," but Evelyn knew otherwise. She just didn't want to believe it.
"No" said Damian watching certain people trickle in and then leave again. "They were only there out of curiosity."
"And i think you may have been affected because you have useable magic" he said turning to Evelyn.
"What, like he kind of… targeted her?" Asuka tilts his head in confusion.
"Kind of" said Damian. "More likely is the probability of a spell that only affects people that meet certain criteria." Said Damian. "Like fully human magic users"
"What? But that's-that's crazy! Why would he want humans, when he could go after more powerful races? And I don't really have usable magic, not really. Or, well, I guess I do, but I refuse to use it unless absolutely necessary…" Evelyn was in a state of denial.
"No offense, but other magic using races are generally also harder to control. " said Damian.
"Well, then why me? There are way more better powers than making the ground shake and whatnot. In fact, I could…no, I won't." Evelyn was thinking of attacking the man from a safe distance, but wouldn't it be what he wanted? To separate herself from her friends?
"True" said Damian "but I dont think he was targeting you specifically. He's probably after anyone he can get, and we drew his attention because I look human, and was unaffected."
(Don't mind me just chucking in Alice)
Alice looked outside and saw the man. "Kill the poor, huh, guess I'd be dead by now then."
"Didnt realize you were still here" said Damian, noticing the girl
"Yea, a lot of people don't notice me often." Alice replied, smiling at Damian.
"Noted" said Damian subtlely reinforcing his shadow shield on the front wall.
Alice chuckled and kept staring at the crowd outside.
'It must be kind of nice not having a load of attention on you at times."
Evelyn seemed oblivious to everything, pacing back and forth, trying not to show her frustration.
