Taking a song lyric and totally rewriting the meaning, let’s have some sweet sweet toxic love type content bcos I feel like it. My character is the Pirate King, yours the Royal Princess and heir to the throne of (insert kingdom name here). When my character intercepts your character’s ship, he doesn’t expect your character to have that much fight in her. Lordy, is he wrong. But that ultimately is why he chooses to hold her for ransom instead of just killing her and causing chaos for chaos’s sake.

This is basically a fantasy world, set and based around the golden age of piracy but not taking all inspiration from it. Ultimately, fantasy creatures exist and you can style your character’s kingdom with inspiration from whatever real or fictional cultures and concepts you want. Tw for obviously a lot of violence, gore, cursing, and mayyybe some smut that goes to DMs if it even happens.

Rules are basically:

Let me know when I’m fucking up or causing issues for your roleplay style, I’m flexible and want to make this fun for both of us!
Don’t be a dick or a bigoted piece of human trash.
Have fun!

Will post templates if and when someone joins.

(im in of you'll have me)

(Uhh I don’t know how well I know you, kinda a Notebook recluse. can I see a writing sample?)

(sure, if you'll give me a minute! Or I'm good to just stalk if you'd prefer to rp with someone you are more familiar with!)

Laural, while she had been invited, hadn't really wanted to go. Sure, these guys were her friends, but if aliens or monsters were real, they were dangerous, and she wasn't gonna die for these guys. But her little sister had insisted, and Ana was so hopeful, Laural couldn't say no. Laural had cleared it with the others, but still felt it was a bit awkward.
Ana loved the idea of otherworldly creatures, and was excited, vowing not to be a nuisance. Laural whispered to the others. "Do you mind if me and Ana have this room? Since she's already asleep. I'm good if someone else wants this one, but she might wake up if I move her again.."

(nah, your writing style is good if you're good with mine! Do we want to discuss characters or worldbuilding a bit?)

(sure! I have a couple characters I can make work. Is this a fantasy/magic setting or a realistic/historical fiction setting?)

(kinda a vaguely historically inspired fantasy, golden age of piracy but like, uh, with magic and different continents and shizz.)

(alright! What age range?)

(probably like, uhhh late twenties to early thirties?? Idk man, I think age gaps are weird and I like playing older characters but also if it makes sense for your character to be younger due to her being the Royal Princess and shizz I get that I just,,,, generally prefer age gaps in more like wlw type relationship becod hot scary older lady. But it makes more sense in context for my dude to be a dude cuz like. Worldbuilding of the Pirate Kingdom I've done.)

(I can do late twenties! Human, or are fantasy races allowed?)

(my guy is a fantasy creature, so yours totally can be too but humans are also allowed, up to you!!)

(sounds good! I'm heading to bed soon, but I will choose a good character first thing in the morning. Do you want to make a list of things to know about my character and the kingdom they inhabit, that we can work together on?)

(sure thing dude, and that sounds good! I'll also give you a worldbuilding dump if it helps you!!)

(that will help!)

(alright, my character Emerald is a gem princess, very similar to a normal person honestly, except an embedded gem somewhere in their bodies (her chest, right around the middle of her collarbone for her) is their life source, acting similarly to a heart, magically sustaining their lives. In doing so, it is difficult to kill them as their gems sustain it, with beheading or removing their gems some of the only ways to. She doesn't like the expectations of a princess, and prefers to explore, often turning to the sea. Does that work?)

(Yeah! I made her before I watched Steven universe, but it was roughly based on what I knew about it. Which was not much.)

(ok so. Uh it be infodump time but like, spicy infodump. So basically the deal with my character is that he is what is known as an Amalgam Mimic, basically a regular DnD Mimic that got smart really quickly and isn't just a brainless monster. He takes the identities of various creatures via killing them and eating them, so yay!! Cannibalism!! But then he also functionally is them after that point as he contains all their memories and life experiences and personality traits, just like, amalgamated. So basically just a Frankenstein's monster (yay!!) of various people and personalities until he becomes distinct enough to function as his own person. Once that happens he'll integrate into society with an amalgamation of back stories to explain his existence and lull people into complacency. But what he doesn't expect is that he isn't like, totally a heartless monster? The lives he's literally stolen and impersonated were all the lives of ostensibly nice people, and the cannibal monster beneath is basically non-existent now or at least very deeply dormant. He falls in love with a guy, a surgeon named Jacobi Elsie, they have a whole romance and eventually start getting hunted down by the government because they end up doing some piracy stuff together in an attempt to take down the local tyrannic Emperor in charge of their locale. Jacobi gets injured very severely, and my character knows he'll die if something isn't done. So he basically (lovingly) cannibalizes the surgeon so he can live as Jacobi so that Jacobi will never die and neither will his memory. A few years later, the Mimic/Jacobi totally takes on the role of pirate king, and basically lives a life of swashbuckling and violence. Because true love is never simple. Anyways lemme know if you have any questions!!)

(not really! Do you have a character sheet)

(I’m a liar, here’s a template)

Name:

Backstory:
Character Playlist:
Other:

(all good lol)

Name: Emerald Geodia IV
Age: 27
Gender Identity and Pronouns: demigirl, she/they
Orientation: around (low on the spectrum, is interested in romance, just also slightly put off by the idea) lesbian.
Species: Gemheart
Appearance: dark skin, green eyes, black hair that fades into a green, tall and fairly thin, tomboy-ish when not doing official royal stuff.
Outfits/General Wardrobe: Wardrobe is full of gowns with cutouts or necklines showing off her gem. She almost never wears any of these, though. There are two downs she actually ever wears, one with emeralds following the neckline with a green gradient, and one plain thin gown in a minute green. Normally, however, she wears pants, tunics, and boyish hats she hides her hair under. When seen by the public, she wears a veil, so the general population does not know what she looks like.
Personality: when doing royal duties, she's bland and bored, only putting in as much effort as she has to. When out on her own, she's happy and energetic, showing actual emotions and allowing herself to feel.
Backstory: As the firstborn and heir to the Kingdom of Geode, she was thrust into responsibility as soon as she was born. As she grew, she started to resent it, and longed to be free. She started taking to the seas to escape, something her parents resented and tried to stop.
Character Playlist: … I don't really do those-
Other: none, that I can think of.

Name: Captain Jacobi Elsie or "Darkest Night"
Age: 29
Gender Identity and Pronouns: Trans man, he/him
Orientation: Pansexual, grey-aro.
Species: Currently presenting as/currently is his Drow lover.
Appearance: Jacobi is a lean, tall, and handsome man with charcoal-gray skin and pale eyes usually covered by pince-nez style sunglasses. His hair is shocking white, put up in dreadlocks which are usually tied up out of the way. He has a kind face, unless his "Darkest Night" persona is up, in which case his expression deviates from any sense of kindness or gentleness. He is unusually thin for his physical strength, and you can easily feel and see his ribs-that is, if he ever shows that sort of vulnerability to undress around you. His eyes turn red when he becomes "Darkest Night".
Outfits/General Wardrobe: His glasses, of course, but otherwise he wears very stylish garb unusual for a pirate of his sort, practical for medical duties and also highlighting his handsome looks. Black is the only color he wears, occasionally with red and gold accents.
Personality: Darkest Night is the demon currently possessing Jacobi, it is a parasite that latches onto your spine and burrows into your skin, and is ultimately a very cruel thing. It thrives on chaos, hates anything living and hates the very concept of honesty and love. Jacobi Elsie, conversely, is a very kind person-dutiful, ruthless, but won't kill unless he has good reason to. The two battle for control often.
Backstory: Everything previously mentioned + Jacobi was captured shortly after he was cannibalized and transformed, and was tortured and within him was placed the Darkest Night parasite, a demon that slowly destroys the mind and morals of the victim. Jacobi is mid-stage into the parasite's effects, and is currently desperately seeking a cure before he becomes not the Mimic, not Jacobi Elsie, but something else entirely, a much darker something.
Character Playlist: No Culture by Mother Mother, All Gone by Mother Mother, Tongues and Teeth by The Crane Wives, Heavy In Your Arms by Florence + the Machine
Other: ubhhh idk man.

(cool! You wanna start or should I?)
