(It's fine fam)
I definitely shouldn't be typing this out right now... but here goes (oxo // closed)

(Okii!)
"Huh…" Sam finally said after a moment of silence, but slowly. "That's a bit odd, isn't it? Students attending school don't usually attend protests on the morning of school, do they?"
Kiara sighed. "Yeah, I guess it is." Her eyes landed on Caelia's book, and she gave Caelia an annoyed look. She was definitely annoyed, but she didn't bother saying anything else. It wasn't like she wouldn't get in trouble for snatching away the girl's book and tearing out the pages.
Sam turned to her, lifting up her chin to look him in the eyes. "Kiara," he began, his voice serious. But then again, whenever he used her full name, he was always serious. "You aren't going to do anything rash, are you?"
"No, of course not!" Kiara reached up a hand to lightly push his hand away. "Seriously, I don't want to get in trouble. So obviously, I'm not going to. You know, it's not your job to look out for me all the time. You don't have to go to such lengths even though you're my best friend."
Now it was Sam's turn to sigh. "But, here's the thing," he pointed out. "I want to look out for you. It makes me feel better when you're not in danger. Or you know. YOu get what I mean."
Caelia glanced up and gave the girl her sincerest smile. Still smiling, she pulled put her phone and asked, "Alaska, when's the next Law Protest?" Her phone didn't respond, but she pretended to nod, and scrolled for a few seconds before returning to her book.
(This is an alternate universe, so… Alaska.)
school
(Lol that took me a while to get aha.)
Kiara turned away, but not before she caught Caelia's smile. "Ugh… why are people so dumb?" she grumbled to herself.
Caelia glanced back at her phone and realised she should get to class. She stood up, stuck her phone in her pocket, and walked past the other girl and her friend, into the classroom.
school
(So, um, how should we advance the plot so that at some point Caelia and Kiara meet/bump into each other again/more often?)
(We could have them be partners for a project or join the same club?)
school
(sure! would you prefer the project or the club?)
(I can't think of what club it would be, so… project?)
school
(sure! what class? i've come up with a couple different classes they might have together – math, social studies/history, science, ect.)
(History could be fun? They do a lot of essays, projects, presentations, etc. in my dad's class, so that's just what I'm basing this thought off of lol)
(ALSO I JUST REALISED WHAT YOUR PFP IS AND I LOVE IT SO MUCH)
school
(yeah, we did a lot of stuff like that in my history class last year, so sure!)
(and thanks, i absolutely love that webtoon!)
(Alright coolio!)
school
(Okii! I'll get my reply up in a bit!)
(Okie!)

The bell rang, making Kiara jump. "Ah, I suppose we should get to class now…" she said, scowling at the ground. It really was annoying how people could be so ignorant of why the new law was a good thing. "come on…" she started walking to class, looking back every now and then to make sure sam was nearby. "what's your first class?" she asked, even though she knew it by now.
"ah… you already know, 'Ra," sam smiled, laughing softly. "but it's math," he added, answering her question. "what about you?" he asked.
"history," she replied, knowing very well he already knew the answer to that question too. "good luck in math," she called to him as they parted ways.
Caelia sighed as she removed her abundance of pencils from her bag, as well as her notebook and textbook. She was already fully prepared.to fall asleep in class; it was early, and there was always the history class.group chat if she missed anything important.

Kiara got out only the required materials from her backpack, and laid her head down on the table, sighing. It was too early, she was so tired… but alas, if she wanted to pass the class, she'd have to actually pay attention this year. She and Sam didn't have the same teacher this year. She'd gotten one, he'd gotten another. But then again, the class might actually be interesting, like last year.
Caelia tapped her pencil on the table, waiting for the teacher to start talking. Eventually, she heard his droning voice, and put her head on the desk to sleep. History was a class that she actually enjoyed; it was always interesting to learn about the past, but… she was incredibly tired.
school
(Do you want to act the teacher or should i?)
(Could you?)
school
(Yeah, of course!)
"Okay class, everyone in their assigned seats!" the teacher's deep voice echoed inside the classroom. Some of the kids were visiting their friends, and reluctantly lumbered back to their assigned seats like they'd been told, though they didn't go quietly. "Listen up, we're going to be doing a project. Now, you guys are all going to have to be able to work through differences and learn how to work with people you've never met before. So before I tell you guys what project you're going to be doing, I've paired you all up into pairs!" the teacher announced, setting a piece of paper under the projector with a list of names, grouped into pairs, of course.
Kiara groaned, she hated projects. Especially group projects. Or pair projects. What was even worse was that she couldn't even pick her partner. As she scanned the list that was projected onto the whiteboard up front, she found her name (finally) under "Caelia." Who the heck was Caelia anyways? Ugh, this wasn't going to be good.
Caelia briefly glanced up and rolled her eyes. "Oh, joy," she muttered under her breath. She had no clue who "Kiara" was, but Caelia always ended up doing all the work in group projects, and this would probably be exactly the same. Quickly, she raised her hand and loudly said, "um, I have a question, who's Kiara?"
school
"Me, duh," Kiara answered in a relatively loud voice. She turned her head to see who had spoken. Oh great, it was that girl. The one who was against the new law. Fun.
"I see your question has already been answered, Caelia," the teacher said in a sweet voice. Then, the teacher started calling names, so that everyone would know who their partner was, and said, "When you hear you name being called, come to me and find your partner." After a while, the teacher finally got to Caelia and Kiara, calling out, "Caelia! Kiara!"
Caelia walked up to the teacher with her arms folded. Duh. She repeated to herself, rolling her eyes. As though Kiara was so iconic that it would be impossible to forget her. "I don't suppose we get to pick our projects?" She asked, almost hopefully.
school
"Like I said earlier, now that you've found your partners, I'll be announcing the project that you'll be working on for the next couple of months!" the teacher answered kindly, and pointed out Kiara to Caelia, telling her to go over to her. "Now, for the project! I think you guys will really like this one, it's really a lot of fun! I want you guys to make a podcast, but you'll have to make several episodes!" The teacher put a paper under the projector, which showed a rubric. "Here's the rubric. You'll see that each episode has to be at least fifteen minutes long, and both persons in each partnership has to speak at least ten times! As for the topic, it will have to be related to what we've been learning in the past few months. For example, one group could do theirs on the American Revolution."
Kiara sighed. The project didn't sound like much fun at all.
Caelia smiled unashamedly. A podcast? This was going to be the easiest project ever. At least… if Kiara would cooperate. She stood a few feet away from the girl, who seemed to be annoyed. "This'll be cool, don't you think?" She asked politely, eyes sparkling.
school
"I suppose," Kiara replied, shrugging. She didn't exactly feel like doing a podcast with Caelia, although maybe… just maybe? She'd gotten an idea. They had briefly covered the new law that had been passed a couple of weeks ago. Maybe they could do theirs on the book law, as it had been dubbed?
"Cool, so, we'll meet in the library after school. I'm gonna research some topics," she said with a vague smile, going back to her seat and opening her laptop.
school
"…okay," Kiara stood there for a second, confused. Why was she being so nice? Didn't she recognize her from the morning? She slowly walked back to her seat and started researching some stuff as well.
