Ava walked into the small coffee shop. She just finished bringing her things to her dorm room and is now taking a well-deserved break. She stood in line squinting up at the menu.

Echo walked down the street to a coffee shop. It was close to the campus and should have something to drink that was good enough. She had been cleaning and putting her stuff in place in here room when she got hungry and decided to not go to the cafeteria, a good choice.
Ava finally made it to the front of the line. She ordered some fruity tea and waited to the side.

Echo was behind her and ordered a coffee. Then sat down to wait.
Ava scanned the shop seeing that there weren't many seats left. She walked over to a girl sitting alone. ”Hi do you mind if I sit here?” she asked already pulling the chair out.

"No you can sit it's fine." Echo replied smiling warmly at her as she watched the girl sit down.
”thanks, ” Ava said sitting down. ”I'm Ava by the way.” her smile grew.

"Well nice to meet you Ava. I am Echo." She said and smiled at Ava.
Ava heard her and Echos name being called by the barista. ”I'll get that for you, ” she said standing up. They were close to the counter so it only took her a moment to grab the cups, straws, and to sit back at the table.

"Thanks." Echo said and took her drink. "So do you go to university nearby."
Ava nodded. ”Yeah I’m an art major at Tufts, ” she said taking a sip of her drink.

"Oh. That's interesting. I'm a criminal Justice major there." Echo said and smiled.
”Thats awesome!” she said taking another sip of the sugary drink. ”Are you staying on campus?”

"Yeah actually I am." She said and nodded then sipped her coffee.
"That's nice! I am too. The campus is beautiful. Well, I mean my dorms a little cramped but that's the college experience I guess," She chuckled.

"yeah. I feel the same." Echo sipped her coffee and nodded then looked around.
Ava sipped her drink and picked up the bag she rested against the seat. she took out a sketchbook and opened to a new page.

Echo pulled out her phone and sighed as she looked at the time. "Sorry but I have to go. Maybe see you again." She said smiling and put a paper on the table as she left. The paper had her phone number.
“See ya!” She said waiting for Echo to be gone before picking up the paper. She bit her lip when she saw the number.

Echo walked back to her dorm and called her parents who told her to call at a specific time.
Ava sketches and finished up her drink and stood up. She when back to her room and texted her brother. Asking how his move in was. She didn’t get a text back. She looked at the paper in her hand. “hey it’s Ava” she texts Echo after erasing 5 previous text messages.
