Makoto was sitting on the living room couch, scrolling through the college ads he was getting on his phone. "Mmh… That's… That's weird. I swear I've gotten some of these ads before," he mumbled. He adjusted the rose in his hair and rubbed his eye, then looked at one of the ads he scrolled past again. "Yeah, I didn't take this ad." Makoto then got up and flicked on the TV, flipping through channels until he eventually decided to turn the TV off. He went back to scrolling through his phone.
(alright, looks good! Q for the first, second, and third triggers?: how big of a trigger is it? Like is it a "not at all, not even in the backstory" thing, or a "it's fine in backstory just not at all in the RP" or a "off-sceen is fine but nothing on-screen" way? Asking so that I know so I can choose which of my prompts to pull)

Looks: Tallish, at 5'10", with a rectangular body shape and a decent amount of muscle. Reddish brownish hair, cut pretty short, and a little curly at the ends. His hair tends to be rather wild unless he makes a massive effort to control it. He is white, with a light tan and no freckles, and grey eyes. He is usually clean-shaven, but occasionally grows a little bit of scruff along his jawline. Has dark shadows under his eyes that tend to be pretty permanent, mainly stemming from being a single parent of a young girl, and his job, and what happened to his wife. His skin is very pale, pairing with how thin he is. People occasionally ask him if he's sick: which embarrasses him, of course. He always makes sure to shave accordingly. He normally wears a black hoodie with a white tee underneath, paired with grey sweatpants and fluffy black slippers. When he's out elsewhere, he wears a suit and cleans himself up, obviously. Ryan arrived at the restaurant ten minutes early, his brown hair combed neatly. He wore dark slacks and a navy blue button up shirt. He still had his wedding ring around his neck, but it was tucked under his shirt, out of the way. He was only doing this because his therapist had said it would be good for him to start dating again, since he was still young. He wasn't so sure, but he had been willing to give it a try. So now here he was, waiting outside for his date to arrive.

Oliver got to the restaurant a minute or two late, and when he got out of his car he was still trying to fix his hair. He finally fixed his hair to a likable extent, and he adjusted his tie. He tugged at his collar a bit as well; he hadn't worn a suit like this one for a while now, so he was still trying to get used to it. He rubbed his arm a little, since there was a bandage there that he forgot to change out before getting his suit on, so it was rather itchy against the wound it covered. He walked to the front and spotted his date, then walked up to him, waving. "Hey, I'm guessing you're the person I'm supposed to meet… Sorry I'm a bit late, I hope I didn't inconvenience you any."
Ryan looked up, shooting him a quick smile. "No, you're fine, you're only a few minutes late, and it's not like it's raining." He said, smiling still. "Shall we head inside?" He hadn't told Oliver about Marie yet; children were so often a deal breaker and he had promised his therapist he would at least give any potential dates a fair chance. He was going to give them a chance, at least. Even if he still wasn't sure he really wanted to do this. It felt dishonest, somehow, even though his wife had been dead for two years.

"Yeah, I suppose we should," Oliver replied. He ran his hand through his hair just to fix it one more time, and then he sighed quietly. Oliver looked at his watch, just to keep a handle on the time. He had found himself always needing control like this, where he would keep his eye on the time. People occasionally asked him if he had somewhere he needed to be, since he always checks his watch at any given point, and he laughed it off. Deep down, he knew he'd have to teach himself not to worry so much about smalls things like what time it is and such, but he'd been putting it off for so long; why stop now, right? He huffed and covered his watch with his sleeve.
Ryan led him inside. "We might have to wait a few minutes for a table, I'm not sure." He said, looking over at Oliver. "You're uhm, Oliver, right? I'm Ryan. If you forgot." It had been forever since he dated, he had no idea what dating was like anymore. Not really. Either way, though. He should double-check that that was indeed his dates name, it would be embarrassing later on if he didn't know.
