Ideas and people welcome! I just thought this was a cute and funny prompt. Can be romance or a platonic best friend rp, I’m open to anything :D
Let me know your ideas!

Little bit o’ rules:

  • Please be semi-active
  • Swearing’s okay, but I don’t do it often
  • Do not control the other’s character (dialogue, actions, etc.)
  • Proper grammar and punctuation are musts, but I don’t get too caught up on that. If it’s understandable, you’re probably fine.
  • Have fun :D It’s your rp, too
  • Ask to join first, please, but I’ll most likely say yes

(Character Temp:)

NOTE: I’ll probably wait until you post your character to make my own, so I can see what I’m working with. My character will probably be male, so keep that in mind :) (as far as the romance standpoint, I’d be ok with a mlm)

Name: Christopher (Chris) Rinehart
Gender: Male h/h
Sexuality: (tbd, he doesn’t even know yet)
Age: 19
Appearance: (Don’t have a faceclaim so) Wavy light brown hair, usually styled up and shaved shorter on the sides. His face is more angular, and he has clouded blue eyes. He has tan skin and more of a lean build instead of muscular. He looks older than he really is, but acts younger from time to time.
Clothing: Always dresses professional, no matter where he’s going. This includes slacks and a button-up for casual meetings, and he’ll throw in a vest or blazer from time to time.
Personality: Kind of the responsible one, handling many of the financial situations between his family. He became the man of his house a while ago, but once his little brother grew up a slight bit more, Chris moved out.
Occupation: Piano man at a local pub. He takes other gigs when he can get them, but he had a single place he keeps going back to. (Maybe it’s the restaraunt Alex works at? If you’d like)
Other: On an unstressed college schedule. He gets his work done and attends from time to time, but he works with a different program. He’s studying to be a biologist. (Also he has a keyboard that he brings with him to any place of residence)

(Anything else we should get out of the way beforehand? Ie: do they already know each other? Are they friends? Go to the same college, etc.)

(I love Chris! I feel like they shouldn't know each other, but go to the same college.)

(Alright, that works. And thanks! Any ideas on how they got roomed together in the apartment? (Maybe like parents knew each other or something))

Chris pulled the car slowly into the parking space, shifting it into park and taking his foot from the brake. The car, Chris’s car, drove extremely heavy. Even in the driver’s seat he could feel the pressure on the ground. But, who cared? He got it at a decent price and it fit all of the moving bags. He certainly wasn’t complaining.
It looked like an old junker model Volkswagen Golf, but knowing the sort of sketchy seller, it could have easily been a knockoff of some sort. Still, Chris was content with it, and refused to buy another.
Especially since the majority of his money had gone into buying this apartment.
He carefully turned the key, hearing the whir of the engine fade out. He slipped the lanyard holding the keys into his trouser pocket, lifting himself from the seat and shutting the door behind him.
Chris leaned on the side of the car, looking out to the apartment complex in front of him. It was a sorry excuse for housing, looking like a mindless clatter of fire escapes and doors, with chipping paint over brick walls.
With an innocent smile, he waited there. His eyes flicked over to the road he had pulled off of, waiting for Alex to pull— or walk— into view. He didn’t know the other boy very well, but maybe the shared apartment would change things.

(I have no problem with a romance! Whatever you want works for me!

Alex was stuck.
His mother always told him he spent money too easily. And while it was true in the sense that he consistently spent little amounts in short periods of time, he never thought he'd find himself in this situation:
Stranded outside of a grocery store.
Alex had offered his Uber driver a few extra dollars to wait for him while he ran in and bought a Pepsi, but the driver had seemingly sped off while Alex was inside. And now, seeing as he'd paid the Uber driver and purchased the soda, he didn't have quite the amount of money he needed to complete his journey to the new apartment.
Alex paced back in forth in front of the store. He could call his mom and ask her to take him, but he knew that wouldn't end well. He could practically hear the "I told you so" and "you're so irresponsible" comments from where he was.
Quickly opting for his second idea, Alex typed the number his mom had given him for Chris into his phone and called him.

(I guess we’ll see where it goes :D )

Chris tapped his foot lightly on the pavement, leaning his back up against the window. He had taken out his phone— a slight older model than the new ones that had been flying out of stores left and right. Just by looking at the boy, one could tell he wasn’t caught up in the newer things of life.
He nodded his head slightly to imaginary music, bobbing his head back and forth with the rhythm of his tapping foot. It held a slightly dusty deck shoe, but at least it looked newer than the rest of his possessions. That was about the only thing Chris took the utmost pride in— his clothing. Even accessories, as his pristine watch glinted in the midday light.
He scrolled through the music on his phone, not playing any songs, just making a new playlist with songs he already knew. He sorted the music often, many times when he was bored or had nothing else to do. Suddenly the screen lit up, and he quickly identified the number as Alex’s. He brought the device to his ear, letting out a melodic, “~Hello?”

"Uh, hey," Alex stuttered, unsure of what exactly to say next. Chris sounded at peace– He's probably already at the apartment, Alex. You're really gonna make him come and get you now? "I, uh, I… So, basically, I'm out of money for an Uber… To take to the apartment… And so I was wonderingifyoucouldcomepickmeup?"

Chris let out a slight chuckle, kicking his foot out and back. His heel grazed the ground as he pushed up from the previous reclining stance, pivoting to get back into his car.
“Of course, man,” he said somewhat charismatically. “Don’t worry ‘bout it. Where are you?”
He flicked his keys, having the car start up again. From the janky spurts of the engine, it sounded no better than an eight wheeler under a compressor, running. Before putting it into drive, he awaited the other boy’s response.

Alex breathed a sigh of relief. "Um, I'm outside of Walmart," he said, hoping Chris wouldn't ask any further questions.

Another laugh was let out as Chris shook his head.
“Alright. The one off of Winston Ave? I’m on my way,” he said, kicking the car into drive. He hung up the phone without any further notice, already pulling out of the parking lot.
He turned up the radio, rolling down his windows. It was an old classic rock CD his dad had given him when he was young, and he loved it with all his heart. From Led Zeppelin to Def Leppard, the CD had everything.
As he drove, he sang along. It was something he did often, without even knowing. But whoever would be in the car with him normally wouldn’t mind— people told him he had a decent voice. Which just added to his love of anything musical.
He pulled into the Walmart parking lot in a matter of minutes— the apartment wasn’t very far. He drove up to the front of the store, rolling how the passenger side door. He looked out, dipping his head to see.
“Alex?” he asked, seeing a boy about his age. He recognized the face only slightly, from family parties what seemed like ages ago.

"Uh, yeah," Alex stuttered at the boy inside the car, which was still blasting music– though Chris wasn't singing anymore. Alex stared at the vehicle in front of him and marveled at how quickly Chris had gotten here. Maybe he hadn't been to the apartment yet. "Um, should I… Get in?"

“Yeah, come on in,” Chris said warmly, leaning back to give him space if he decided to take his offer. He lifted a hand, limply turning down the music so it let him speak clearer. The guitar stirring in the background would’ve made it difficult otherwise. He gave Alex a charming smile, putting his hand back up to the steering wheel.
“The apartment’s not too far,” he began, then glanced over his shoulder at the bags still in his car. He took one from the passenger seat and shoved it in the back with the rest so Alex had enough room. “Have you seen it yet?”

Alex slowly climbed into the passenger seat, Pepsi in hand. Chris's smile and the familiar sound of a quiet strumming guitar comforted him a bit. "I haven't. Have you?

Chris took his foot from the brake, beginning to drive out of the parking lot. He didn’t drive careful nor clueless, just simply average.
“When I signed the papers the other day I saw it,” he said, nodding along to his words. “Other than that, no. I haven’t unpacked or anything.”
He paused for a second, glancing over to the other boy, then back to the road. “I don’t know if you parents told you but… it is a one-bedroom place.”
He quickly continued before Alex could comment. “—But, I’m totally fine with sleeping on the couch or floor, so you can take the bed. The moving truck is gonna be here in a little bit with the stuff I set out this morning, so for now we can just carry… these bags.”
He gestured a hand behind him, noting the bags in the back.
