(Bump)
I know I’m having trouble responding to our other RP but this sounds fun, may I?
group
Yes, of course! It's okay :)
Okay, characters then? And who will I be playing?
group
Would you mind being the male character?
Nope! Not at all! Do you have a character template or should I make one or are we just jumping in?
group
I was just going to use a pre-made sheet for my character. You can use whatever template you want for yours :)
Okay, so she’s a lawyer, right? Specifically with criminals if I’m reading that correctly? So what if my character was someone she was defending? Or perhaps investigating?
group
Indeed she is. Oooh, that would be a good idea! He tries to flirt with her, and she doesn't take any of his shit at first, but she slowly begins to fall for him too?
Like, I’m thinking this con man type, a shady kinda guy that don’t play by your mama’s rules, and maybe she’s looking into him or representing him in some high profile legal case?

Ooh maybe?

Cause the idea is he is the kind of character who is used to getting any woman he wants and always getting his way.
But also because I am me he’s gonna be the weird little girl to sleazy car salesman pipeline type character that is pretty overtly adhd and needs some help in life more than just getting out of trouble with the law?
Cause the idea is he is the kind of character who is used to getting any woman he wants and always getting his way.
Yeah! But also, was kinda thinking sleazy dumb asshole with a secret heart of gold?
group
YES! Do you have a template, or do you just want to jump in?
Uhh jump in is good?
Can you start?
group
Perfect! Yes, of course! Hold please
Okay, cool.

Anna strolled through the park on her way to work. The case she had been briefed on yesterday seemed to be exponentially difficult, and whenever she had a hard case, she preferred to take the longer, scenic route to clear everything from her mind but the client's details. Her heels clicked as she strode through the park, passing by the fountain. She sighed and tucked her honey-colored hair behind her ear before opening the door and entering the building and heading to her office.
"Anna," Nathan called as he heard her pass his office.
She stopped and backtracked her steps for a moment. "Yes?"
"You have a client waiting in your office. I knew you'd be here soon, so I figured I'd just let him in for you."
Anna nodded her appreciation briefly. "Alright. Thank you, Nathan." She continued down the hall and pulled open the door to her office. "Hello, sir," she greeted, hanging her coat on the hanger briefly and smoothing her dress to take a seat behind her desk.
Elias Lane was a tricky case, that was for sure. Casino owner and longtime scammer now under suspicion for murder, a murder he hadn’t committed of course, but he was quite an interesting figure nonetheless. He had the right motive, a cop threatening to expose his whole operation murdered in a hotel room. He’d been released on suspiciously light bail that his lithe, tricky fingers barely allowed the transaction money to fly through, as if being less of a scrooge would kill him more than life in prison would. His sea green eyes glittered and danced around the room as he avoided the gaze of the woman who had just entered, greasy straight black hair slicked back with too much pomade giving him the image of a pale, malnourished sewer rat. A sewer rat in a rat trap just beginning to close in.
“Let’s keep this quick, babydoll. I want outta here, you want me outta your hair. Let’s come to an agreement shall we?” he asked, rubbing his hands together anxiously.

Anna straightened and blinked quickly. "Uhm… alright…" she muttered, opening the file Nathan had already put on her desk. "Mr… Lane? It says here you've been arrested for suspicion of murder and were released with a bail fine that was paid immediately… They're still going through with your trial?" Anna frowned in confusion as she flipped through the papers. Apparently, Nathan had done some more work without her knowledge. Typical. "Yes, the trial will be in a week. We need to find evidence and have a plausible cause to prove your innocence before them… and after I receive the transcript from your interrogation with the detectives, it should be a bit easier…"
“Well, you won’t find anything on me. I’m a con man, not a murderer. I’ll admit to that much.” he said. “And call me Elias.” he added, smiling in a way that was probably supposed to be charming. “So how’s this whole ‘court’ thing gonna work? I’m pleading innocent, obviously, the detectives beat the hell outta me but I wouldn’t confess to anything.”
group
Anna arched her eyebrows and shut the file folder on her desk with emphasis. “Mr. Lane, I’m not sure how you conduct yourself in your line of work, but in mine, I prefer to stay professional. Now, as I was saying, your interrogation is a vital part of this process. Would you like me to be present?”
“No, not really. I’ve dealt with worse from the mafia, you think I can’t handle a couple’a sorry ass cops who can’t keep their heads outta trouble for one minute?” he said, shaking his head. Elias was many things, but a liar… okay, a liar was one of them, but also, he was more than that and he would be honest when people could be used for their help. He folded his hands on the desk, and leaned forward. “Look, doll, you’re cute but you don’t seem to have much going on in the head, usually how I like my men and sometimes my women for that matter but now isn’t the time to be a ditz. Ask me about the night of the murder at least, fuck’s sake.”
group
"No," Anna countered. "I'd assume you can handle yourself with the detectives, but most people typically prefer to have their lawyer or attorney with them. If you don't, that's fine, but I am required to let you know that should anything in that meeting go south, I won't be able to help you."
She looked down to read through a piece of paper, and her eyes shot up when he touched her desk. Her eyes narrowed as she listened to him, and her lips parted in protest. "I am not a ditz! I'm only trying to be as much help as I'm legally allowed to be. And as part of my typical protocol, I don't like questioning clients until they've been through with the detectives, but do enlighten me as to what your alibi will be."
"Easy. I was sleeping with a client of mine, same hotel the guy got killed in. A Mr. Jackson Wire, if it helps my case. The nuclear physicist? Bad gambling habit, but a nice ass." he explained. "Both of those being benefits for me and my line of work. I'd been talking to him about something big, all nondisclosure agreements aside he's a genius and I wanted to ask him a few questions about… not that it's any of your business. It was a good night, he was the only one who left the hotel room for I think twenty minutes, then we went our separate ways in the morning. Only for me to be arrested right on their doorstep, not a fun experience when you're in a prolonged state of… what's the phrase? Post-nut clarity?" Elias laughed, and leaned back in the chair, kicking his legs up on the desk. "Look, doll, I own twenty casinos across the country. I've made a fortune." he said, tilting crimson tinted sunglasses down to finally look at Anna. "I only hire the best lawyers, something tells me that my expectations are going to be sorely disappointed."

Anna sat and listened intently, taking little notes on a pad of paper by her hand. Surely, if he was telling the truth, she would get the full story again – hopefully with more relevant details for her use – from the transcript that the detective agency would send her.
Her lip curled with slight disgust as she came face-to-face with the soles of his expensive-looking shoes. "Get your feet off of my desk, Mr. Lane." She drew in a sharp breath, his unfortunate stench filling her nose. "And I am not a lawyer, I am an attorney." Fortunately for him, Anna's self-control wouldn't let her say anything more.
