His name is Lin and he's British and he's very stronk but he doesn't feel like being trained to be a weapon by his family so he decided to just pretend he didn't have any powers and trained himself on his own time lmao
This can be a romance if you want I guess but keep in mind that Lin is 13 and pedophilia is illegal in this universe too, so any potential partner would have to be around his age
I think this would be more fun if your character is a big strong outlaw or something and Lin just shows up like "haha can I join you I can use ✨ f i r e ✨

Family: Lin is the fourth of seven siblings, with three older and three younger than himself. He has two living parents, and all of his siblings are alive as well. Sibling Names in order of age (excluding Lin): Kel (male, 20), Friese (male, 17), Anise (female, 15), Luria (female, 11), Juno (female, 9), Rem (male, 6)
Background: Lin's parents greatly value strength, and are powerful magic users themselves. Most of the family use either fire or electricity, but Lin is the only one of the family who has been able to use both. When he was younger, he saw the brutal training that his older siblings were forced to go through to hone their powers and decided that he didn't want that fate for himself. So, he feigned not having powers to avoid the training, but he was still forced to go through it. He managed to keep his abilities hidden, however, and chose to hone them privately in his own way. Due to the rigorous training, Lin is very resilent, especially to heat, electricity, and pain, and will often hide injuries because he genuinely doesn't think they're all that bad. Now that he's thirteen, he's finally decided to leave home. Since his family didn't think he had any powers, he was often shamed and generally treated more poorly than his siblings, but he never broke. He recently ran away to live on his own, and he doesn't suspect he will be missed.
Other: He's skilled with knives, and will often use them instead of magic (especially at first as he will likely be hiding his powers from your character for a while). He still has a strong British accent regardless of where this ends up taking place. Lin has ADD and tends to hyperfixate on things; he often doesn't hear things the first time because he's distracted, and struggles to multitask/focus on more than one thing at a time.

(Np! I think it would be modern? So our characters could have cell phones and such if they wanted. It would just be an alternative modern world where people use a lot of magic in their daily lives as well instead of relying exclusively on technology)

(Yeah! So them having magic isn't necessarily out of the ordinary, although there would still be people who don't have magic as well. Maybe like 50/50, or non magic users might be a slight majority, but they could still go to people who do have magic to help them with their problems)

(Lin could be like "aight let's go to my little woods hideout I've got traps all over the place, there's no way the police can get in" lmao. He probably won't even tell Adders that he's got powers for quite a while. Probably not until they're in an actually dangerous situation where he needs to use them)

Ugh… I'm out of food again… Lin looked down at himself thoughtfully, running one thumb over his ribs. How long has it been since I've eaten? Hunting for my own food is more difficult than I thought… His stomach growled loudly and he winced, glancing around. I'll have to go and buy something from the city… surely they've got some cheap food I can afford with the money I brought from home. He carefully climbed down from the tree shelter he'd been living in and pulled on his shirt, sticking his hands in his pockets as he walked towards the city.
He had barely made it within the city walls when a boy about half a foot taller than himself barreled into him, knocking him backwards. "Nngh… what the hell…?" He groaned and rubbed his temple a bit. He looked up at the boy who had run into him, trying to figure out what all the rush and carelessness was for.

"Oh my god, I'm so sorry!" Adders said, reaching to help the smaller boy to his feet. He grabbed his bag off the ground where it had fallen and swung it over his shoulder. "I should probably watch forwards as well as backwards, huh?" He checked quickly behind him, he had a bit of time.

"Uh… yeah…" Lin replied, obviously still a bit dazed from getting knocked over. "What are you running from in such a hurry, hmm?" Must be pretty important for him to be careless enough to knock me over… He stood on his toes to look over Adders' shoulder, hoping to see whatever it was he had been running from.
