Another demon x angel, since I can't get enough of those apparently

I'm the demon, and you're the angel
Long story short, demons were angels, after the Fall everyone forgot, but then God decided that the two sides needed to come together again. How does this happen?
It turns out that every demon has an angel soulmate, and visa versa. Now they begin to fall in love again, much to both sides chagrin.
That's it, just that. Unless I add more later.

Alright, cool! (Nathaniel is usually gay so I wanted to check. Since he's not actually in an official story or anything, his sexuality is flexible lol)

Name: Nathaniel Tobias Windsor
Gender: Male
Personality: He's a soft boi who likes soft things. He really likes cuddles and having his hair pet, but he has a 'rough' side as well. He likes to either pick fights, finish them, or both, usually to prove himself despite being short. He's protective of people he cares about and tends to be a bit bitchy and sensitive.
Appearance: Nathaniel is 5'4 and built with a smooth, athletic body. He doesn't really have any sharp edges to him. He has blue eyes, pale skin, and fluffy copper colored hair. His hair is short in the back and basically a curly, fluffy cloud in the front. He has crumbled, crooked wings on his back that he usually tries to hide
Backstory: (subject to change if this is set in heaven) Nathaniel crippled his wings when he was eight years old. I'll let him tell you the story later ;) but after a while of consideration, he was kicked out of heaven for this. After already losing his brother in battle and being so young, trying to live alone on earth was really scary, and he did some things he now regrets. He now lives alone at whatever age we are
Other: Generally likes being pet. Like, play with his hair, pet his wings, cuddle him, he'll be happy. He's also quite sensitive about not being able to fly and sometimes gets nervous in high places due to a fear of falling like when he was a kid

Name: Balimaus (Bal ((Bale)) for short)
Gender: lol is an astrophysical being what is gender. Goes by/presents as male mostly, but occasionally goes for the feminine look
Personality: He's laid-back, in a demonic sort of way. He prefers the slow corruption of souls via temptations rather than torture and violence. He's a bit of a masochist, and definitely doesn't have lots of residual fear from life in Hell, no no, not at all, he definitely won't cringe away if you raise your voice or move too fast, he's a big, bad demon laddy. He keeps his chill attitude hidden under a guise of "I don't care" and is VERY touch starved
Appearance: Black wavy hair he keeps in a ponytail, silver eyes, bone-white skin and wings that are pearlescent white with black marking, mimicking insect wings. Basically this, if you put that pattern on feathered wings: https://minutedigest.files.wordpress.com/2013/12/149810978.jpg
Backstory: After the Fall, which he can only remember as an event that happened, not the why or how, he was at the bottom of Hell's food chain, getting pushed around and beaten by everyone else taking their frustrations out on him. Eventually he started to fight back, and fought his way to a fairly comfortable position, but couldn't make it any further than that.
Other: He's actually pretty high-ranking within Hell, but that changes nothing. He can just exercise a very dubious authority around more people. That's literally the only benefit. One one more note about his wings, he can't use them due to heavy damage sustained in Hell. They hardly unfold, and have lots of old breaks, scarring, and missing feathers. They probably looked lovely once, but now they're dirty and ruined.

Let there be Peace
The Voice commanded, and there was. On earth and in Heaven high. In Hell, too, which was the worrying part. Demons were left with an odd sense of calm, their normal pains and anger gone for the time being. Many were left empty. They'd become so obsessed in their occult hatred it had taken them entirely over, like a mold on a rotting corpse. They were left without purpose, only a vauge sense of the Grace they'd once held as angels, and a strange desire to cry.
Let there be Love
The voice commanded, and there was. In Heaven they began to lose the feelings of animosity towards the Other Side, and in Hell, the need to cry grew only stronger. Each side felt what was missing, who was missing. Love was missing, each a certain someone's love missing, revealing the hole that had been covered up with rage, or divine Light, or violence or prayer. The hole was love, and it cried to be filled.
Go, and find your lost half
The Voice commanded, and they did. War stations were left, guardians and tempters alike drifting free from their duties, looking for one thing and one thing only.
Each other.

Bal had been on earth ever since the Call, as it had been dubbed. He'd been searching for months now, but to no avail. Most of the other demons were the same, and dark muttering had begun to spread. Many of the demons hated this insatiable urge, but no one could fight it.
Give a demon a purpose, and it's still a demon, he thought, rather glumly. There was no use continuing this search. Not today at least. It was dark, and he was fatigued. Better to just lay rest for a while. he settled down underneath a cedar tree, and closed his eyes, ignoring the chill of the spring air around him.

Nathaniel shivered as he wandered through the forest, feeling dull and empty as usual. He'd felt hopelessly crushed ever since he was sent here as a child. His life force was carried in his wings, so when he'd initially crippled them, it was the worst. He had felt like his soul was being painfully crushed. Nathaniel shook his head a bit, forcing the memories down. He wrapped his wings around himself as best he could, trying to get warm in the chill of the night. His breath clouded in front of him like a pale ghost, quickly blown away by the light breeze. Being so small, he got cold very easily, and he could feel his legs trembling violently despite them being almost completely numb. After a while of stumbling through the trees, he had to fall to his knees beside one of the ancient oaks, curling in on himself as he trembled like a leaf in a tornado.

Bal heard the crunch of someone uncomfortably close, and was instantly alert, jumping to his feet and casting his senses about.
An…angel? Here? He cautiously stepped forward, peering through the spiny branches of his cedar. Upon seeing a figure curled in the leaves, he stepped out with more bravery than he felt.
"Hello?" he asked, wary. Some angels were receptie to the word of their Lord, others were disturbed by the idea that they were supposed to love their old foes. You never knew how an angel would react to being approached.

Nathaniel looked up at the voice, struggling to get his tired eyes to focus on the figure. He was clearly shivering violently, the cold biting his skin and freezing his bones in place. He couldn't move. No matter how good at fighting he usually was, he was definitely defenseless now. He opened his mouth to try and respond weakly to Bal, but his voice wouldn't come. He looked small and weak from where he was huddled up on the leaves, not to mention scared. He knew some demons were angry about the call, so this one could very well kill him, and he wouldn't be able to protect himself.

Bal knit his brows in concern.
"Hey, you okay?" He asked, slowly approaching, hands out peaceably. "You don't look so hot, can…I help you?"

"It's s… s-so c… cold…" He stammered weakly. A splash of crimson was seeping through his fingers onto the leaves, contrasting against their dull green. He seemed very pale and all his energy was drained. The more crimson that appeared, the more violently he trembled.

Bal crept closer, until he stood over the angel.
"You have to get up," he urged. "You honestly kinda look like you're gonna die if you stay down there. Get up, I can heal you, if you're hurt."
He offered his hand, glancing anxiously over his shoulder in case this was some sort of trap.

Nathaniel managed to force himself onto his knees, which weren't doing a great job of holding him up. He looked up at Bal weakly. He couldn't stand; this was the best he'd be able to do in this condition. His fingers were stained with his blood.

Bal took what small victories he could get. He dropped to his knees beside the angel, oh, so cautiously taking his hand and looking for injuries.
"Where are you hurt?" he asked, ready to flee if the angel so much as looked at him wrong.

Nathaniel cautiously removed his hand. There seemed to be a stab wound of sorts just below his ribs. The tips of his crooked wings subconsciously curled around him. He seemed to be very nervous, and not far off from passing out.

"Aw….hell," Bal muttered, gently touching the wound. "That's deep, I don't know if I can heal it fully, but I can stop the bleeding. Just hang on a sec, kay? This is probably going to sting a little."
He sent a surge of power down to the wound, his demonic into the wound, cauterizing the still bleeding veins and arteries. He did his best to repair the tissue, but demons aren't healing creatures naturally, so he could only do so little.

Nathaniel bit his lip at the pain, shaking harder at the uncomfortable feeling of his arteries and veins and tendons trying to knit themselves together. Soon after Bal pulled away, Nathaniel collapsed onto the leaves again.

"Oh sh-" Bal followed him, crouching in the leaves and gently prodding him. "Are you…alive?"

Nathaniel didn't respond, his face drained of color and his eyes closed. Though he was unresponsive, the shaky rise and fall of his chest told Bal that he was, at the very least, alive.

Bal breathed a sigh of relief, then half-picked up the angel and awkwardly dragged him into the shelter of the cedar. It was much warmer there with the two of them hidden under the low branches.
Hopefully he'll wake up again soon, Bal worried. He'd done his best, and he could only hope it would be enough.

Nathaniel huddled closer to him in his unconscious state, still shivering. After about ten minutes, he finally started to come to. He blinked his eyes open and blearily looked up at the demon. He was too disoriented to be afraid at the moment.
