M poked at his food a bit before cutting it up and popping a bit into his mouth. "Not really. Work. It's nice to hear you slept well. Do you have any plans for today? I heard it might rain," He hummed back conversationally.

(Not much I can do about it other than wait it our. Lol. I’m just kind of laying low, trying to finish high school, working, looking for a new job…)
“I was thinking of visiting my parents… Or maybe going on a walk in the park,” Alison mused with a shrug. She took another bite of her food as she looked at M, chewing and swallowing before speaking again. “How is your work lately?”
(Ooh finishing high school. Good luck with that. Did you find a university to go to after hs? If you feel comfortable sharing ^-^)
"Mm, sounds wonderful." He sighed softly at the mention of his work. It's been hectic and stressful lately. Even thinking about it made his head throb (or maybe it was the lack of sleep?). "Ugh. I wish I could quit."

“Can you take a day off? Ask your brother. Maybe he would grant you one,” Alison suggested before taking another bite.

"No, I doubt it. I've been needed for a lot of things there lately… but I could ask and maybe get lucky," He sighed, shaking the thoughts out of his mind for now.

“Tell him you deserve one. Because you definitely do,” Alison chuckled softly. “When was the last time you had a break, anyway?”

M pulled out his phone and set down his fork. "I dunno. I'll call him now and ask." Though he seriously doubted he'd get a day off, it was worth a try for Alison. He dialed the number to his twin's cell and set it on speaker, and it rung softly.
"Yeah?" Finally answered Neo's tired voice. It must have woken him up.
"I was calling if I could have a day off."
"Why? Nothing happened to you, did it?"

“Hi, Neo,” Alison singsonged with a smile. “M is fine.”
"Oh, hey Alison," Neo hummed back faintly. Noises of the king sitting up in his bed graced the phone. "I guess you could take off. But if I call you cus I need you, don't be angry at me."

“Thanks, Neo!” Alison sang, grinning up at M with a look of I told you so.
M hung up without saying anything to his twin. "He only let me because you're here. He wouldn't have if it were just me."

“Which is why it’s a good thing I’m here, no?” Alison chuckled. “Anyway, we should go out or something. Take a walk in a park like I was thinking of doing earlier.”
M side-glanced her before going back to his food with a grunt. "A walk sounds fine," He mumbled over a mouthful, that felt heavy to swallow. He needed to take his morning medications.

“Grumpy,” Alison teased with a soft chuckle before going back to her own food. She gave him a quick smile before paying attention to eating.
M glanced up at her after another forced mouthful, sitting back with a faint yawn. "I'm always grumpy," He murmured as he exhaled after his sleepy yawn. "It's my personality now."

“I know, I know,” Alison chuckled again. She finished her food and looked up at him. “Almost done?”
"Mm. Full," He murmured when she asked, sitting back in his seat. He only ate a bit of his own cooking. He stood from his chair with a sigh. "I'm gonna head upstairs to get ready for the morning."

“All right. I’ll wait for you down here,” Alison said with a smile, standing and collecting their dishes.
M nodded and ducked out of the kitchen, making his way upstairs. He took a quick shower and his medicines, then got dressed into something more comfortable. A relaxed knit sweater and long khakis. He joined her downstairs, still running his hands through his quickly drying hair.

Alison has started washing the dishes when M went upstairs, and she was now finishing them up. She dried the last dish and glanced back to see M coming down. “Hey. You ready now?”
M stuck his hands into his pockets, glancing at the finished dishes. "Yeah, I'm ready when you are. And you didn't have to do that. I was going do those when we came back from our walk."

“I wanted to. Plus, I needed something to do while I waited,” Alison said with a smile, drying her hands before walking over to her boyfriend. “Let’s go, then, shall we?”
M nodded a little at her question, offering a small grin. He followed her to the foyer where he fit on his barely-worn sneakers. It felt so strange to not be working. Perhaps Alison was right to step in…

Alison slipped on her shoes and the jacket she had worn the night before. She watched M out of her corner of her eye, wondering how he was taking his day off. Maybe he would have fun today; she certainly hoped he would.
M finished with his shoes and merely sat on the ground, bunching his legs up under his skinny legs as he waited for her to join him. He sighed up at the ceiling, arching his back to look up. The tall man hoped he wouldn't regret a day of relaxation.
No– he wouldn't regret it. Because Alison would be with him.

Having finished getting ready, Alison straightened and looked over at M with a smile. “I’m ready when you are. Let’s go?”
M straightened up, stretching his legs a little. "Yep, I'm ready." He grinned at her faintly, sticking his hands into his pockets.

“Great!” Alison chirped, looping her arm through his.
M nodded and opened the door for her, gesturing for her to go out first. "So we're just going to the park, right?"

Alison nodded. “Yup. Unless you wanted to go somewhere else, as well.”
