Luke sighed and stared at the door leading to the room where all the other girls were. He wasn't excited for this, at all. He straightened his posture, plastered a smile on his face, and opened the door, and almost dropped his composure at the image of so many people with painted faces. It was creepy. Why was this considered attractive again?

@ShadeStar

Chrysa heard the door open and immediately stopped the conversation. She turned her head to spot the prince and could see discomfort. Well at least she kthe prince wasn't particularly fond of this idea either. Ir maybe it was something about the girls appearances. Chrysa bet it was all the makeup.

@PrettyLittlePyro

"Hello, ladies," he said, sweeping into a practiced bow. "I am Prince Lucian. Not that any of you didn't know that, I hope. Otherwise, I'd have to kick you out." He flashed a smile. "Okay, not really. Come, though, food is ready, and I'm here to lead you to your seats."

@ShadeStar

Chrysa could tell he actually had a personality rather than the mindless droid the Uprising often referred to him as. At least that’s what he was in their eyes. She was glad about that fact since it meant she had at least hopes of befriending him. She watched the others to see what they would do, but stood up from her seat anyway ready to leave and get food. They call her rude all they wanted she wanted to make an impression earlier than later.

@PrettyLittlePyro

Blair knocked into Chrysa as she walked. "Nice try, loser," she said. She walked past the Prince, winking at him.

Luke rolled his eyes once she was passed, hoping no one would notice.

@ShadeStar

Chrysa kept her ground despite the other’s rude behavior. However, she spotted the prince rolling his eyes. Good he found her as foolish as she did. She walked up to the prince and gave him a slight nod of respect before continuing on. She would be able to best talk to him once she wasn’t in the presence of other contestants.

Luke raised an eyebrow at the girl, the first one who had treated him like a normal person, not a prize to be won. He waited for all the girls to enter into the dining room, before closing the door and sitting at the head of the table. He clapped his hands, and food appeared, carried by servants. There were hundreds of delicious foods, and the girls all exclaimed with delight.

@ShadeStar

Chris's looked at the food with wide eyes. She had never seen so much food in one place before. Her mouth watered as she waited for some sort of cue to begin eating. Even she would find it rude if she began to eat before she was supposed too.

@PrettyLittlePyro

"You can eat," Luke chuckled at the girls around him. He found his eyes straying to the girl who he had seen earlier, the one who had treated him normally.

@ShadeStar

Chrysa kept back her squeal and began to take acxeptable portions onto her plate. If she wanted more she would get seconds. She was careful to keep her manners and prevent herself from gorging out.

@PrettyLittlePyro

Luke only picked at his food. This next part was his least favorite, and so he wanted to take it as long as he could.

@ShadeStar

Chrysa saw the prince picking at his food and wondered what was causing him to doddle so much. She had already filled herself on one helping and was beginning to take seconds not mind some of the looks the other ladies gave her. She was hungry damn it all

@ShadeStar

(Bump?)

@PrettyLittlePyro

(Sorry! I'm just super swamped with roleplays, so I'm trying to get to all of them.)

Luke glanced up, and saw her getting seconds. "Hungry?" He asked with a polite smile, although he couldn't really care less.

@ShadeStar

(That's fine!)

Chrysa looked up seeing the prince address her specifically. She hadn't been expecting, well she had, to get noticed so soon. She gave him a sheepish smile, "Um, yes. I am hungry. I had to make quite the journey to get here."

@PrettyLittlePyro

"From where?" Luke rested his chin on his hand and looked at her, a slight flash of interest in his blue eyes.

@ShadeStar

Chrysa smiled internally seeing she had caught his interest for the moment. The other girls seemed to be silently glaring at her as Chrysa had earned the attention of the prince from basically doing nothing. Nothing made her happier at the moment. She decided to tell a small lie that held some truth to it, "Minutia, it's a smaller town a good day or two's ride away from here."

@PrettyLittlePyro

"I might have heard of it." Luke shrugged. "Then again, I never pay attention to geography, so who knows." He rubbed his jaw and turned to another girl. He should probably talk to another person. "So, what's your name?"

@ShadeStar

Chrysa had a slight smile on at the prince's comment. She watched as his attention turned to another girl. The other girl straightened up and had a bright grin on, "My name is Evangelina Pontifex."

@PrettyLittlePyro

"Evangelina? That's a pretty name." Luke smiled at her, although he was cringing onside at the thought of how eager she had acted. "So, what do you like to do, my lady?"

@ShadeStar

"I quite enjoy reading, painting, and cooking," Evangelina smiled back though her eyes had a superior look as she glanced around at the other girls. Chrysa wanted to roll her eyes, big deal the prince was talking to her. The prince would have to talk to everyone eventually. Evangelina continued, "I also quite enjoy shopping and participating in politics, though that is hardly a woman's place."

@PrettyLittlePyro

"Shopping?" Luke looked amused. "How can you like that? I've always felt that it was so tedious." He shrugged. "But then again, what do I know?"

@ShadeStar

Evangelina nodded happily at the extra time she was given, "Oh yes. I find it a lovely way to pass the time and discover new fashions and such."

@PrettyLittlePyro

"Hmm," Luke grunted, bored already. Fashion, he thought with disgust, turning abruptly from the girl, and standing. "Well, if you're all done eating, how would you like to come to the drawing room with me? I hear that it is quite pretty in the sunlight."

@ShadeStar

Evagenlina frowned at the loss of attention, but she stayed in her seat. Chrysa was one of the first to stand up from the great feast having taken her fill and gotten some good entertainment out of it, "I would not mind joining you your highness." Evagenlina quickly popped up as well, "Neither would I."

@PrettyLittlePyro

Blair popped up as well, and soon the other girls followed. Luke led them into the large room, full of comfy couches and and chairs. "This is the Girl's Room," he said with a forced smile. "Before every major event, you are all to come into here, but you can come in whenever."

@ShadeStar

Chrysa nodded not able to hide as her eyes grew wide looking around the large room. She hadn't seen a room so elegant and she assumed this was going to be a common theme throughout the palace. She took control of herself going back to her more complacent version.

@PrettyLittlePyro

He shook his head. "Well, go on, do whatever you want." He ran a hand through his hair. "If anyone wants to talk to me, I'll be here." He sat down on a chair by the door.

@ShadeStar

Chrysa glanced around seeing the other girls trying to size each other up. She didn't bother with any of that and walked over to the prince. She gave him a curtsy, "Hello your highness. Mind if we talk?"

@PrettyLittlePyro

"Of course." He was almost relieved that it was this girl who had come up to him, and none of the others, but he didn't show it. Stop it, Luke, he berated himself. You don't even know her intentions. Plus, you didn't want to go through this anyway, remember?
