He shook his hand with a smile. "Jay. Just your run of the mill yet not so local freak as well. Don't worry, we can be freaks together." Just grabbing his hand made sparks shoot up his arm. Maybe he was getting in over his head with this one…
Kinda want a demon and human ship so...help?
He smiled "so you're not from here? oooh mysterious…" He arched an eyebrow and tilted his head "so where ya from, Jay?" he asked, glancing down at his hand and feeling a slight tingling.
He scratched the back of his neck with a slight chuckle. What could he say? Telling him the truth would make him sound insane so what could he do? "Let's just say, it's not exactly here."
Jasper rested his head on his hand with a bored expression "wow….tell me something a bit more interesting, you can even make it up if you don't feel like telling me where you actually live." He waved a hand in the air "for example, I'm from a faraway land only known by those with silver eyes. a place of wonder and enchantment where things happen for no reason and a reason is what you must find to live."
"Alright fine. I come from hell. Good enough?" He laughed lightly, only mostly joking but hoping Jasper wouldn't pick up on it.
(Sorry for leaving you! Been stuck at a football game for like 3 hours)
(don't worry about it! You're good, hope you had fun!)
Jasper laughed and nodded "yeah, that's good. So what's your story?" He asked, intrigued by the man in front of him.
(Yeah, it was fun! Freezing cold because New Jersey but fun!)
"Depends on what you mean by 'story'. There's a lot of different things I could tell you."
He shrugged "any that you want, a happy story, a sad story, a love story, a hate one," any that'd you like."
"Hmm…" He thought for a second. Did he have any stories that wouldn't make him sound completely insane? Maybe one… "Well, there's the story of my ex who was a bitch and a half but you probably don't want to hear the depressing tale of my love life."
He thought for aoment "go ahead, it's kinda comforting to know that someone else had it just as bad as I did," he took another sip of his drink and gazed up at Jay, ready to listen to the tale
(Sorry if I'm slow at responding, I'm at homecoming)
He sighed quietly and smiled sadly. "It started fine. Like all relationships do. But after 2 years, it started going south. He became verbally abusive although I tried to ignore it. There's nothing that he could say that I hadn't already said about myself. But it hurt and it didn't take too long before he became physically abusive as well. But I loved him and believed he would change so I stayed with him for another year and a half until he landed me in the hospital nearly dead. That was what it took for me to leave him." He ended his story with tears in his eyes and every heartbeat hurt.
(don't worry about it, have fun and don't worry about responding!)
Jasper's face turned from neutrally happy to sadness and hurt as Jay told his story. After he had finished telling the story, Jasper silently stood and pulled the other into a hug, "I know we just met and I'm pretty sure I'm over stepping my boundaries but I need to do this. As someone who's been both verbally and physically abused by one I loved, I know how it feels. No one should go through that, ever. I may not know you well but I know you didn't deserve to be treated like that by that person."
(Nah, I'm a wallflower anyway, I got time 😂)
He stiffened slightly. He really shouldn't let himself get attached to someone when he planned to take their soul but he couldn't help it. He relaxed slowly and hugged him tightly. "Thanks, I needed it. I guess I'm just not used to telling people things."
(same here😂)
Jasper sucked in a breath, not expecting to be hugged back, just a one sided thing where it'd be akward and weird by needed. "It's okay, neither am I. Thank for trusting me to listen to your story." After a few more minutes, he let gently let go, though that was the last thing he wanted and sat back down
He smiled a little, actually starting to enjoy himself. "Looks like we can be weird together."
Jasper laughed awkwardly and ran a hand through his hair "yeah, apparently so. I'm not really used to having someone to talk to so thank you for just sitting down…" He blushed and looked away, embarrassed by his own weirdness.
"Don't worry, neither am I but hey, looks like we're both making progress." He chuckled, slightly nervous. Damn, this guy was cute. Why was he always sent after the cute ones?
"yeah…yeah it is progress." he tilted his head to the side before facing him again "So what'd you do after the incident with the guy, rage off somewhere or sulk?" he asked, raising his gaze to Jay's
"Um, neither actually. My sister admitted me to therapy while her and my brother went and beat the shit out of him. I sat there with a therapist for 6 months being a broken mess because they didn't give me any time to mentally recover."
Jasper nodded, regretting bringing it up "I'm sorry if I'm resurfacing bad memories," he said softly "I can't imagine what it was like to be in therapy with no one truly listening to what you had to say."
"Nah, it's fine. I've become numb to the memories." He shrugged it off before glancing around. "Right, this crowd is giving me anxiety, wanna get out of here? Continue this conversation elsewhere?"
He nodded "same here, bars were never my thing anyway. where'd you have in mind?" he asked, taking one last sip of the sprite before paying and standing
"Well, there's a really nice park about a block away if you wanted to head there." He stood from his seat, sticking his hands in his pockets.
"Sure! I could use some fresh air," He stood and sighed, needing to leave the stuffy room and the smell of heavy alcohol
"Well then come on, before I really start to panic." He grabbed Jasper's hand and tugged him out of the bar, sighing in relief once he excited the building.
Jasper blushed a deep red when Jay grabbed his hand "uh-uhmm yeah lets d-do that…" He sighed softly, it means nothing, he's just anxious and wants to get out of here….nothing more..
When they finally got outside, he didn't drop his hand. His skin was warm and Jay was freezing. Plus, he was kind of enjoying having him so close. "So, to the park?"
Jasper shivered, part from the contact that remained between him and jay, even after they were outside and the other part was because of the other's skin. okay… maybe he's just anxious and needs comfort. Jasper nodded, both saying yes to going to the park and reassuring himself "yeah, let's go."
He squeezed his hand lightly. "Sorry, are my hands cold? What am I saying, they're always cold." He chuckled to himself before starting to pull him along to the park.
