Lab Partners (O/O, closed)

So I read this story on Wattpad and wanted to try it out for myself here since it’s a really good idea and a good story (Go check it out btw, it’s called Lab Partners I’ll put the link when I can finding it)

The basic plot of the story is:

Or two characters barely know each other. They’ve had passing glances here and there and small smiles but nothing more then that. When their science teacher announces a sciences project, our characters are forced to work together.

Drama will happen along the way, as they begin to fall for each other despite how much they might not want to. But they can’t deny the chemistry, can they?

So yeah, pretty simple premise.

I’d love for this to be a heckin’ gay ropleplay but it doesn’t have to be, I’m good with whatever.

Swearing and mature content is allowed if you want too :)

It was a normal, boring day unlike any other. Sleep deprived students wandering the grey halls of the school on the way to their next class, moving in groups and talking at whatever volume they pleased. Because of this, it was quite loud and barely anyone could hear the bells signalling the next class. But Zane did, and he audibly groaned. Science. His least favourite class. He wasn't the smartest kid, and he sucked at science. He also new, he'd be receiving a project too. He sighed, and reluctantly made his way their, walking at a pace that would make him late.

It was another day at school, and Nemo couldn't be happier. He'd always been an outcast. What kind of teenager actually liked school? And who named their kid Nemo above all choices? But, Nemo had never cared. He liked school and always had. People thought him a nerd because he always retreated into the library, but he really just enjoyed the quiet. As the bell rang, Nemo collected his books and started to head out of the library. He saw a straight couple snogging in an aisle, and half gagged. He'd never been oppressed to females in general, but always seemed to gag if they were making out with someone or had the audacity to ask him out. But he had science. And there was no romance allowed in the science labs.

Zane stopped to talk to a few of his 'friends' on the way to science. He was popular, he knew it and loved it. Sitting high on the social hierarchy came with its privileges and he wouldn't give it up for anything. He knew that made him kind of a bad person but he didn't care. Most of his friends hung around for his popularity and did he care? Truthfully, yes but he tried not to think about it. He sighed and eventually, trudged into class ten minutes late, sitting in his normal spot.

Nemo glanced at the boy who walked into the class late, recognising him immediately as Zane Mitchel. Zane was the complete opposite as Nemo: jocky, jerky, kinda dumb. So it made Nemo slightly self conscious when he felt his cheeks burn. He buried his head in his book so that no one would see him blushing.

"Mitchel! You're late." The teacher, Mr Roberts scolded him which just caused Zane to roll his eyes.
"I know. Stop pointing out the obvious teach. You're supposed to be the smart one here." He smirked and high fived one of his friends. It was worth it to see Roberts fuming.
"Moving on, as I was saying, you will be starting on your science project today. You will be designing an experiment and creating an essay, and visual presentation on you chosen experiment. You can do what you will, but you have to decide with the partner I have assigned you. Even though you will not be working on this project every lesson, you will have to sit and complete all other tasks I give in class with your partner. No ifs, ands or buts about this."
Partner? As much as he loathed the idea he was glad someone was going to help him pass this class.
Roberts started to read out the list of names on his laptop, calling the partners and students became to move to their receptive partners.
"Zane Mitchel and Nemo Hart."
Zane's eyes widened.

Nemo looked up at his name being called, but didn't think much about it. He jumped slightly when someone planked their books down on the empty desk beside him, and buried his tomato red face in his book when he realised it was Zane. Why is he sitting next to me? Zane Mitchel! Sitting next to me! Nemo Hart! Why? He thought helplessly to himself, having not heard a word of what Mr Roberts had said.

"You have the rest of the lesson to start planning what project you want to complete. You have until the end of the term to finish it and I will only be giving you a limited amount of time in class, the rest will have to be in your own time," Roberts said, looking bored and Zane looked even border, "So, go ahead."
Zane sighed and turned to the small boy who he was now sitting next to and gave him a small smile, "Hey. I guess we're lab partners now." He shrugged.

Nemo didn't say anything, using his book to hide his face. He now knew why Zane was sitting next to him, and was starting to loathe Mr Roberts. He didn't think that he would be able to make it through the term-semester-year or however long they would be lab partners while he sat looking like a tomato. It was embarrassing.

Zane frowned a little, gently prying the book from Nemo's hand and waving his hand in front of his face, whistling, "Hello? Your not even going to say hi? If we're gonna be partners you have to talk to me, you know?" He noticed the redness in his face and smirked slightly. If it was any other boy he might have been a little weirded out but for some reason he wasn't and that confused him.

"Hi!" Nemo peeped in a high pitched voice, then practically threw his book back in front of his face. Why isn't he laughing at me? People normally laugh at me. I mean, I can't help it if I'm gay, but still! Why isn't he laughing at me? Or at least giggling?

"Nemo," Zane said firmly but there was still a smile in his voice, "I'm not that scary, am I?" He raised an eyebrow. He didn't think he was, but then again, he'd only ever ever seen Nemo around and they'd never actually talked before.

"No," Nemo peeped again, hiding in his book. "Sorry." He couldn't believe that he was redder than a tomato. Was there anything redder than a tomato? There had to be. Cause that was how red Nemo was.

Zane chuckled, but it wasn’t a mean laugh, “No need to apologise,” He smiled, “But, if we’re gonna pass this assignment then you’re gonna have to talk to me.”

"Can't!" Nemo peeped once more. He couldn't believe that he had a crush on Zane Mitchel. Someone who would never even consider going out with him.

“Yes you can. Come on,” Zane nudged him with his elbow, grinning, “You’re stuck with me for the rest of the term buddy, you’re gonna have to talk, look and work with me eventually or we’re not gonna pass this class.”

Nemo made a small noise that was unlike anything he'd heard before. "Sorry."

“It’s fine, Nemo,” His grin widened, “Now, should we get to work?”

At the mention of doing science, Nemo's face lit up and his blush disappeared. "What project do you want to do?"

Zane shrugged, “I’m not the best at science as you might already now, so I don’t really now.”
