(Hey, Joy! Sure, go ahead :D)

“I’m not surprised,” Noah muttered under his breath, wafting a cloud of ash away from his face. “I’m an urchin. You’ve only had exposure to lordlings and butlers.”

“You are correct.” She replied, looking at the urchin before her. “Though I don’t regret meeting you. I enjoy the difference in character. You’re more… alive.” She meant he had more life in him. A lot more life.

@blue_topaz

He snorted loudly at the irony of the situation, lifting a hand in front of his face and spreading his fingers wide. Smoke tangled between them like a sloppily woven tapestry, drifting skywards and mingling with the night air. "Right, alive."

@Joy_

(cool thanks! I love cute lil RP's like this)

Arabella glanced over at him. She was a bit concerned. “No, I meant it as in your personality is bigger, brighter.” Her eyes settled on the smoke. The lady’s pose stiffened. “Is that soot?”

@Anonymoose

(I'ma stalk this, seems interesting)

@blue_topaz

(sure, welcome, XD)

Noah closed his fist, trapping a wisp of smoke between his fingers.

"No, it's stardust," he responded sarcastically, doing his best to fend off the question. "I'm a chimneysweep. Yes, it's soot."

(Wow I’ve never been happier to see stalkers XD)

Her eyes widened, but that small spark of excitement was crushed by his confirmation of soot. “Stardust would have been cool. You could have been like those creatures and beings of the forests. My mother says they’re very hard to find.” She patted the spot next to her suddenly. “Would you mind keeping me company for just a little while longer?”

@blue_topaz

(lmao)

Noah turned his head to eye the strange girl, suspicion lining his soot-stained face.

"I'm not finished working," he said finally, diverting his attention and taking the broom into both hands again.

Arabella shook her head, dusting off the soot that had settled onto her dress. She didn’t seem surprised to see it smudge. “Ah, another dress with a strange smudge.” She mumbled to herself before looking back up at the male. “I’m not very dangerous, as you’ve probably noticed. I only want someone to talk to. It’s rather lonely here. I’m sure you’d enjoy the company as well.”

@blue_topaz

Noah only scoffed, exhaling a cloud of warm breath into the night air. "If you're going to try and take advantage of me, at least be straightforward about it, miss." She wasn't the first to try, neither would she be the last, and he had no patience left for being pushed off rooftops and laughed at while he scrabbled for purchase on the way down.

Arabella looked absolutely offended. She folded her arms across her chest and huffed. “Are you really suggesting that I could take advantage of you?! For one, I’m about three times smaller than you. And for two, why would I ever do that? You’ve done nothing to me so far.”

The lady stood, collecting her things. “I wasn’t thinking of doing so, but just because you dare think of me as that type of person, I’m considering it.”

@blue_topaz

"Then you're only proving my point," he answered calmly, springing up onto one of the smokestacks with ease. "If a lady, once offended, would consider taking advantage of the defenceless chimneysweep doing his job, then I'm not sure she's much of a lade anymore."

“Ah, now you’re starting to understand.” She giggled innocently, sliding down the roof. She flung her journal and pen into the window below. “I’m not meant to be a lady. But I do want you to know this,” She turned to look at him, her expression one of a serious curiousity. “I would never do anything to harm you. If I ever do anything that does so, you have my full permission to throw me off this roof.”

@blue_topaz

Noah lifted a dubious eyebrow at both Arabella's statement and apparent naivety. "Whatever you say…."

group
@Toxic_Persephone group

“You can trust me, Noah! Just as you mentioned before, I’m too sheltered to harm you. Besides, I take no joy in the pain of others. Especially rude, charming chimneysweeps.” She flashed him a polite smile, glancing down at her window. She had to position herself right or would have to face a rather uncomfortable drop.”

@blue_topaz

Noah, shooting her a dubious look, dipped so easily into a one-armed cartwheel from one smokestack to another, one would think it came as naturally as breathing. “Mmhm…”

group
@Toxic_Persephone group

Arabella applauded his graceful cartwheel, leaning back. Something held her back. She didn’t want to leave quite yet. “I don’t understand why you don’t believe me. Would you rather me tie my hands behind my back to show you I am not one but dangerous?” She huffed. Of course she wouldn’t let him tie her up, however. She still had to look out for herself.

@blue_topaz

“You can do whatever you’d like to,” Noah answered nonchalantly, pushing his hair from his forehead.

group
@Toxic_Persephone group

“Except apparently make you believe I’m no threat.” She huffed, pulling on her dress. “Would you rather be alone?”

@blue_topaz

"It's your roof, like I said, you can do whatever you want." A smirk tugged at his lips, visible even under the dim light of the moon.

She pouted, folding her arms over her chest. His smirk sent a slight wave of annoyance through her mind. “Is that a yes to leaving you alone?” She leaned her head back, looking at the stars. “Honestly, I’m confused.”

@blue_topaz

“Like I said,” he repeated slowly, hopping down from his smokestack and mirroring her position. “You can do whatever you like. But…” His lips twisted thoughtfully. “I suppose I don’t mind the company.”

group
@Toxic_Persephone group

Arabella sighed, audibly confused. He didn’t make any sense to her. The way he spoke was strange too. “I suppose I’ll stay up here for a moment longer. However much you confuse me.” Either way she could enjoy speaking with him. If he was annoyed by her, she’d get the pleasure of knowing she annoyed him. “Do you spend all night cleaning?”

@blue_topaz

"Mhm," Noah hummed in the affirmative, sitting cross-legged on the ceramic roof tiles beneath him. "I do. Do you spend all night speaking to strange boys?"

group
@Toxic_Persephone group

She snorted - a very unladylike sound. “None so strange as you.” She teased, giggling softly into her hand. “I’d say you’re the strangest of them all.”

@blue_topaz

He arched an eyebrow. "So you do speak to many strange boys?" The smoke at his feet slowed, spreading into a lazy circle. "Or am I the first?"

group
@Toxic_Persephone group

She bit her lip and leaned back on her hands. “Do you count the sons of large businessmen as strange?” Her eyes glittered. “You’re the first in my mind.”

@blue_topaz

"The sons of large businessmen do not count," he snorted, rubbing absentmindedly at his cheekbone. "And I'm not sure what to say to that. I'm honoured, I suppose?"

group
@Toxic_Persephone group

Arabella could hardly hold back the laughter she was suppressing. “Mmhm! Which means our meeting is special. You’re the very first person to not go through my father to speak with me. You should be honored.”
