Jericho paled. NO! He mentally shouted to M because he was unable to speak. I was obviously NOT privy to that information! "How had I not noticed her before?" He asked wistfully, glancing up at M. "She's perfect."

β€œOf course she’s perfect!” M burst out suddenly, scowling at him. β€œI don’t know why in the world you didn’t run off with her. You’re a lonely bachelor which the exactt tyoe of guy she wants! She’s been complaining about it constantly to me. And she knows you’re related to me, and now that you’re not willing to take chances.” He crossed his arms. β€œWhat were you thinking, walking away from her?”

Jericho stared at M, completely floored. He sputtered for a moment before coming to his senses. Which were mad. All of them. "Lonely bachelor? I'm not lonely! I'm waiting for the right girl! Which is not a GODDESS with an all or nothing ultimatum, M! What the hell?! You tried to set me up with Resentment and didn't even tell me? LOW BLOW M! Low fucking blow." He didn't care that he was shouting. That was two people now that thought they could control his life. "I thought I was being nice by not sleeping with a woman I just met. Holy hell." Jericho crossed his own arms, staring at his boss, his friend, with contempt.

M’s arms flew to his sides and he leaned forward towards Jericho like a cobra ready to strike.
β€œStop feeling all misunderstood Jericho. I know what goes on in your mind. You deined a Goddess. Do you know what that even means? She’s going to come to me and try and get you to lose your job. She’s going to say a ton of shit about you because of this. And hey, keep your fucking voice down or I actually will fire you! You’re the one who came up to my house and acted like what you did was right, when it wasn’t. I’ve known those asshole-Gods for over two-thousand years! You can’t can’t tell me what’s right and what isn’t.”

(How is what Jericho did not right? That seems a little mean… Idk I'm just not really a fan with the fact that Jericho is being forced into this relationship type thing.)

person_off

(No it’s ok. I did kinda want a slow-simmer with it but we need some real world type thing. So he’s not wrong (well technically he is bc he denied a Goddess but she’s just throwing a fit).)

person_off

(It's not wrong to deny someone though. Even a Goddess. I don't think he did anything wrong. Technically or not.)

person_off

(Ok I understand that. But this is a huge characterization chance. I don’t think it was wrong that he denied her either. I understand your point as well.)

(Characterization of whom? Because I'm not having Jericho turn around and flop into Graci's bed just because M told him that he was being an idiot.)

(Of M, bro. Actually of them both, to see how Jericho would react to M but it’s whatever.

If you don’t like it we can just delete it and let it be.)

Jericho stood toe to toe with M, not backing down for a second. "I'm not a piece of meat you get to throw to whatever God wants to bed me! I'm your friend, but I guess that's not important now. Let her take my job. Whatever! Let her talk! I don't really care. I will not be manipulated, M. So screw you." Jericho turned on a heel and began to storm out of the house. He'd had enough.

M threw out his hand the moment Jericho went to go walk away and the door flew shut. He looked angry, his eyes chips of angry ice.
β€œI will not be talked to like this in my house. I did not say I was going to fire you. But it's obvious that you’re testing my patience.” His hands tightened into fists at his sides. β€œHowever much you might think I’m your friend, I will not be disrespected, belittled and expected to return the gesture.”

Jericho sighed, running a hand through his hair. "Yea well, shit, M. I'm sorry for yelling at you in your damn house, but nothing else. I stand by what I said. If you want respect from me you have to respect my decisions about my life. I don't need help with women!" He crossed his arms, standing defiantly. "I certainly don't need to be offered up to a Goddess." He muttered, more to himself than to M.

M sneered at him just a tad. β€œI do respect your life. I just think it was… unwise to just leave a Goddess on her own. You could’ve at least exchanged phone numbers. However, since you have this all figured out, go.” His hand flew up and the door slammed open, the doorknob going through the wall. M knew how to disguise the anger on his face, but never in his magic.

(I was just thinking that, lmao. I was actually about to ask if you wanted her to be awake when he went back upstairs.)

Jericho glared at M. He could not believe this was happening. He thought his days of getting into trouble were long, long past him. "She didn't exactly give me that option, Boss." He snapped over his shoulder as he stormed out. "It was more of a 'join me or die' kind of thing." He slammed the door behind him, stomping down the street towards his apartment.

M shook his head angrily, ignoring Jericho and turning his back on the door. He growled curse words in his native tongue to nothing in particular, squeezing his hands tighter into fists. His magic puffed out his hair as it did when he was irritated or agitated, which prompted him to unclench his fists and scratch his nails through his fluffy black curls. He did that for a bit, for so long it hurt.

Jericho muttered to himself as he continued walking. He couldn't believe the outrageous events of the past evening and yet if he were being honest to himself he has somewhat enjoyed it. Scowling, Jericho unlocked his apartment and ducked inside, ready for a heavy drink.

M gave a quick couple tugs to his hair to calm himself down a bit more, then smoothed out his ruffled, somewhat dry hair. He exhaled slowly as he ran his nails through his tangles and knots, making his way back upstairs.

(Oh, sure! I wasn’t sure if I could yet. Lol.)

Alison was already awake when M came up. She sat in the middle of the bed, her legs crossed and hands holding onto them as she watched the door.

β€œWhat was that about?” she asked softly as M stepped into the room.

(Lol. The door is wide open!)

M was still running his nibbled-on nails through his hair as he eased across the room and shut the door.
β€œNothing,” He mumbled, his voice aching from yelling so loud.

group
@Imperfect_Autumn group

(Then she’s looking out the door! Lol. Geez.)

β€œIt obviously wasn’t nothing. But it’s fine if you don’t want to talk about it,” Alison said with a shrug.
