"Soon, yeah." Eros said, shaking his head to pull himself out of his thoughts. He had quite a few fond memories, of couples he'd matched, and helped in their journeys. "Okay, favorite Greek 'myth', go."
Love Is Funny That Way (w/ thighhighcrocs)
"Aw, you suck. I have to choose? Favorite God is Apollo. Goddess, Athena. Story? Probably any story when a god did good." Abbie quipped, "You?"
"Apollo's a pretty good guy." Eros said, nodding. "Had some rough spots with his whole method of trying to get a date, but Artemis set him straight. Athena's a bitch and I love her." He snorted, pulling into a small parking lot. "My favorite myth, I guess, would be that time Ares was trapped in a bronze jar for a couple years. He was pissed."
"Serves him right for being a hothead. 'God of War' and all. Honestly, all I know from Greek mythology that didn't come from videos mostly came from the Percy Jackson series. I know that the series itself is based off of Greek mythology, making it not entirely 'real' in your terms, but it's a good read." Abbie looks around, content. She suppresses a yawn before unbuckling her seatbelt.
"Honestly, they aren't too far off, in terms of correctness." Eros said, shrugging a shoulder. He watched her hide the yawn, a fond look on his face. "Although, Zeus is a way bigger dick. Interesting stories, but a dick."
"I wouldn't think that. He's got to have some leadership skills to rule over the rest of the gods, right?" Abbie tried to pout, but ended up snickering at the attempt, shaking her head.
"I cannot, for the life of me, keep a straight face."
"He's an asshole with no respect for women, or his wife. Hera's got her problems, but plenty of them are thanks to him." Eros said, laughing as he slid out of the jeep.
Abbie rolls her eyes, an eager smile toying at her lips, getting out of the Jeep, unintentionally slamming the door shut, flinching when it does.
"You are…You're anything but normal, I'll give you that." Abbie points at Eros teasingly.
Eros placed a hand on his chest, gasping. "Why, Abbie, darling, I'm flattered. That just might be the sweetest thing you've ever said to me."
"Wha-I didn't-You're just-Why is this so confusing? And very, very frustrating as well! I'm supposed to be nice, and innocent, and pure, and I'm not, and your supposed to be the guy who pays me no mind!" Abbie crosses her arms, moreover thinking than being upset.
"I just don't get you. What do you want out of all of this?"
"You, obviously." Eros said, leaning against the hood of the jeep to look at her. "Whatever you'll give me. You don't think that highly of yourself, I know, but I do. And I think you're amazing."
"I appreciate the comment, but I'm not as amazing as you think I am. Honestly, I'm terrified that I'll slip up, make myself look like a fool. Eros, I like you, don't get me wrong, I just…can't envision you liking me." Abbie bit the inside of her cheek, looking down at the pavement.
"I'm not used to this. Any of this, for that matter."
"You've already acted pretty foolish, Abby." Eros said with a small laugh, straightening and stepping towards her. He placed a hand gently on her waist, and used the other to tilt her chin up to look at him. "There's a first time for everything, right? Let me be your first…boyfriend, friend with benefits, whatever. I do like you. More than you'll probably ever realize."
Abbie's cheeks flushed, and Abbie's eyes tried, but failed to, avoid looking at Eros directly. He saw her in a light she couldn't even see herself fitting in, and she felt good. No, valuable. Marvelous. Amazed that someone could recognize her for more than just a tool in society.
"I don't know if I should save the kiss for the date, or right now." Abbie smiled shyly, putting her hand on her waist, on top of his.
(Just bumping this so I can maybe respond before I go (probably not, but…))
(Bump)
((Sowwy! It got lost in all my notifs))
Eros leaned down, brushing his nose against hers. "I'm a bit partial to now." He admitted, lips quirking up into a soft smile. "But it's up to you, sweetheart. You set the tempo."
Abbie smiled, and her arms wrapped around his neck. "You give me too much credit. You're probably way much better than I at this sort of thing, so…don't expect much." Abbie stood on her toes and kissed Eros. It wasn't too short or too long, just…unsure.
Eros's hand under her chin drifted down to rest on her waist, pulling her closer. Kissing her was just as great as he'd hoped, in spite of her hesitance.
Pulling away, Abbie could only grin, but there was a confused look in her eyes.
"You're too…perfect. For me, at least. I feel like I'm asking everything from you without saying anything, and I'm…I don't know. I think I like it. Is that okay? For me to depend on someone such as you?" She asked the questions mostly to herself, but was overall curious about what Eros thought, what Eros would say. Abbie hadn't felt as…pressured…as she did now for a while.
"You could ask anything of me, and I would give it." Eros said, pressing a lingering kiss to Abbie's hairline. "And trust me, love. Even as a god, I'm far from perfect. Most of us are." He chuckled softly, looking down at her with a slightly wonderstruck gaze.
Abbie's smile broke, replaced by a soft, straight line.
"How can I trust you when you say you're a god? What if I say I'm Christian?" Abbie wasn't Christian, in fact, she had always questioned her own religion. Either way, she wasn't religious or political.
"You'll see, Abbie." Eros gave her hips a light squeeze, before stepping back and offering her his hand. "And if you still decide you don't believe me, or that you don't trust me, I can leave."
Abbie took his hand without hesitation.
"I have no doubt that you have feelings for me, well, maybe I do, but I wouldn't want you to leave, whether I believe you or not. It might raise issues, but…" Abbie didn't mean to show doubt, and caught herself, standing up straighter. "My feelings for you won't change, whether you really are Eros from the myths or Eros, the caring human. And even if I do believe you, I won't start treating you like a heavenly being. You'd better know that before we take this further." Abbie hadn't meant to be firm, maybe even stubborn, but that's just as she came off as, her giddy smile seemingly banished from her posture.
"Love, I expect nothing less." Eros said with a laugh, pulling her closer to him as he started across the parking lot. "I wouldn't want you to treat me like a god, despite my being one." You make me feel normal. "I'm glad you wouldn't immediately boot me outta your life, though."
"I wouldn't really do that to anyone; they'd have to do it themselves. Honestly, that's usually what happens. People say that they want to be my friend, they use me-while I know it, but I don't mind-and then leave me. Those who bother to get close to me and then leave me hurt, so I don't try to do that to anyone else." Abbie burst in a sheepish smile, squeezing his hand some.
(Do you have an idea of where they went, or do you want me to come up with a place?)
((Smol coffee shop/cafe))
"I won't leave unless you ask me to, don't worry." Eros promised, smiling down at her. They quickly reached the door of the cafe, and a small bell chimed when Eros pushed it open. They were immediately met with the smell of coffee and baked goods, the cafe warm and welcoming.
Abbie couldn't help but grin, always fond of small places like these. She ordered for herself whilst resting her hands on the counter, a cappuccino and a pecan twist, turning to Eros.
"Did you want anything? I can pay. For one of the IOU's." Abbie smirked at the idea.
(Bump, and yes you may go through your other notifs before responding to this, I'm not pushy (or rather, I'm not meaning to))
((Sksksk I have to get off at six every day now and it's killing me, cause I get back on and theres all these nottiiiiffss. Also, I have procrastination issues, so usually it just takes a bump to get me to reply.))
"I'll save those for more important things. I always pay on dates." Eros said, smirking down at her. He ordered a cookies and cream frappuchino, not quite the drink anyone might think he would.
