"You think that makes me angry, kid, i've heard those words before." he laughed, a natural reflex towards words that do actually hurt him. He could feel the connection grow again, but it was still too weak to do anything.
Arthur frowned, "you gotta learn to summon it withiut getting mad" he said carefully. "Try and block this!" He quickly created a violet aura whip and swung it at Soren.

He quickly raised his hand and a thick barrier appeared in front of him. "You're crazier than I thought, I like that." The connection was fading again, so maintaining the barrier was harder than he initially thought.
well no duh came the dry comment.
"Shut up will you?" Said Arthur in response to the voice before turning his attention to Soren. Focusing himself he summoned balls of silver and violet aura and launched them at Soren.

He watched the balls collide with his barrier. Judging from the cracks they made, the barrier was weak. The barrier is weak, I am weak…
"Nevermind" said Arthur as he launched another orb.
dont tell me youre afraid to tell him!
"I told you to shut up!" Said Arthur frustratedly.
stop that! a small whip of violet aura flicked Arthur's shoulder.
Arthur swore under his breath, rubbing the spot where the aura flicked him.

Soren didn't understand what was going on with Arthur, but he couldn't allow that to break what little focus he had. The next orb caused the barrier to disintegrate, but he quickly grasped ahold of the remaining shadows. He released them through the ground and they rose up like a windowless cage around Arthur.
Arthur swore. "Now look! You made me let my guard down!"
He raised his sabre and slashed through the bars, disintegrating the cage.

"Dont tell me you're trying to train me!" He whipped around and slashed at something behind him narrowly ducking an aura swipe.

Soren noticed that Arthur was distracted by something he couldn't see and decided to watch from the sidelines, willing the shadows to form a cage no matter how many times it was broken.
Arthur ignored the cage this time, slashing and swiping and parrying against an invisible attacker. "Stop it!" Yelled Arthur as he fought back against the Spirit.
your aim is weak came the firm reply, just as the spirit lauched a counter attack, knocking Arthur to the ground, wrapping him up in his own aura.
"Let me down!" Yelled Arthur "right now!"
not a chance laughed the spirit.

Seron watched silently, thoroughly confused. What the hell is going on…?
"I said let me down Discordion!!" Yelled Arthur furiously.
"Oh fine" a lower audible voice said it. Dropping Arthur to the ground as he did so.
"Jerk" said Arthur frustratedly.

"I'm assuming that's some freaky spirit thing that just follows you around even though you'd rather it not?" he said after a while, sighing, realising he'd completely lost the connection in his core.
"I wouldn't say freaky…" said Arthur his eyes trained on Discordion, "More like an annoying companion, that I just happen to be unable to get rid of."
"Oh I'm annoying?" said Discordion wrapping more chaos aura up for an attack.
"Very" said Arthur, "If you're going to hang around either make yourself visible or disappear" he said firmly.

"I have to agree with you there Arthur.." Soren sighed again, pulling the band out from his hair, letting it fall to his shoulders. His black eye was once again covered. "I have no focus, no connection. This isn't going to work. When I have any form of control it is weak and my attacks are weak, when I have no control at all I could potentially kill someone if they are not prepared like you were. There is no middle ground."
"We need to make you a middle ground" said Arthur ignoring Discordion, "Trust me I know how hard that is, My own aura took a long time to master"

"And how did you master it?" Soren was still a little skeptical as to how anyone, especially Arthur, could help him, but he was willing to accept any help given to him if it meant that he would not disgrace his family.
"With my help, and a lot of practice" said Discordion, making himself visible.
Arthur sighed, "He's right, but we still need to get to work." he summoned more orbs, "Summon your power, I don't care what you have to do, to do it, but get it done!"

Soren stared at Discordian, not sure whether to question his presence, but didn't say anything. He forced his own shadow to form a connection and looked at Arthur. "I'm ready."
Arthur nodded and launched two orbs. Then he summoned a shield against Discordion's orb attack. Glaring at Discordion he threw the rest of the orbs at him, even though it had no effect.

Soren's arm became shrouded in his shadow as he deflected the oncoming orbs. He retaliated by sending shards from his hand at both Arthur and Discordion. I don't fight, I don't fight… I have never seen Arthur's magic before so I don't even know if it will have an effect on him. Then there's Discordion… just what is he?
Arthur used his sabre to take out all the shards, narrowly missing getting hit by two of them. "Ignore that jerk okay?" he gestured to Discordion, "He can't actually do anything to hurt you or anyone else other than me except under special circumstances. And he can't do much to hurt me either" Arthur lit up his sabre with aura. Swiping it in a specific pattern several flashes of aura swept towards Soren.

Soren's shadow left his hand, standing in front of him, absorbing the aura flashes. He closed his eyes, drew it back, and clasped his hands together. I don't feel good…
He opened his now completely black eyes. I shouldn't have used my own shadow..
His core twisted and he watched his clasped hands become consumed by a large orb. He glanced back up to Arthur, ripping his hands apart. A large dome surrounded all three of them and shards protruded from the walls before flying towards Arthur.
"Help me…" he whispered, though it was doubtful anyone could hear.
Arthur shielded, letting his power loose to take out the shadows. Grass began to grow exponentially, acting as a shield before vanishing. Chaos began to twist the environment, as Arthur swung his blade, creating a magic circle. Out from the magic circle came aura bursts in the forms of small, vicious monsters the raced straight for Soren. "Chaosae mystic!" the command enveloped Arthur in an aura orb, lifting him up as if there was no gravity, for he now stood upside down at an angle.

Soren was slowly losing control of himself as his shadow started to take over his body. "Arthur…help… I don't want to lose…control.."
A shadow blade appeared in his hand, slicing through the monsters before his shadow forced his body to advance towards Arthur, blade pointed towards him.
Let me take control, Soren, you need me.
I can't… you're too strong…
Arthur won't help you, but I will. I am part of you, I know how to help you more than anyone else could.
"You'll kill him…I am not a fighter, I'm not a killer!" His voice came out as a shout, but Soren couldn't hear himself. All he could hear was his shadow.
Arthur watched with confusion as Soren came closer, seeming to struggle against something.
Arthur watch out! There's another presence around him, trying to take control! Discordion gave him the warning before vanishing.
Great, "Soren! Don't lose control! You are the master of your power!" he yelled it to him, taking a ready stance with his blade, causing two rings of aura to swirl around him, ready to act.

You were weak without me, you saw that and you took me in. You couldn't master your power, Soren, but I can. Do not listen to that fool, what does he know about shadow magic anyway?
"I'm not weak, I'm not weak! I won't let you hurt Arthur!"
Soren fell to one knee, trying to force his shadow out of his body, but it wouldn't listen. He looked up at Arthur, tears filling his black eyes as he mouthed. 'Help me'
In a split second, he was on his feet once again, charging at Arthur, his small blade growing into a scythe.
A fitting weapon, for a demon.
Arthur parried the attack with expertise, catching every attack with lightening speed. Arthur you have to help him fight back! Whatever that thing is it has a link to him similar to ours but it is dark magic!
Arthur nodded, grasping his amulet and brandishing his sabre, Don't let me fall to deep Discordion! he used a burst of magic to separate him and Soren, "Chaos Burst!" he let the chaos energy envelope him, transforming him, when it was done with his blade was alight, and his chaos energy had increased it's flow, but also, Arthur now bore the mark of his powers, dragon wings identical to Discordion's.
sheathing his blade he lept forward, placing one hand on Soren's forehead, enveloping both of them as Arthur summoned his fire aura, This should take care of it! the Fire aura burned away the sentient shadow trying to control Soren, but it also left Arthur's mind open for a retaliating attack from said shadow.

Soren's shadow resided within him, still in his brain. Who does this guy think he is? What animated series did they pick him out of?

"Because I didn't want him to think I couldn't do anything, I'm tired of not being able to do anything with my powers!" Soren didn't realise he had spoken out loud until the shadow dome around them fell and his own shadow left his body, returning to beneath his feet. He stared at Arthur, confused by his form.
