Peter set the flowers on Violet's lap. "I mean," he continued his rant, "She makes the best coffee in the entire state. I probably owe my entire medical degree to her." He pulled the car out of the parking lot and onto the street.

She laughed quietly. "I should hold her in high regards then."

He laughed affectionately, "I'd say so."

"Promise to introduce me?" she asked, looking over at him sweetly.

"Absolutely." Peter replied, leaning to turn on the radio to the news station as always.

"What's the point of having a radio if you only listen to the news?" she teased him like always.

Peter shrugged, "I like to stay informed.. you can change it, if you want,"

"No, we can listen to it. I just don't see how someone can do it all the time. If I did, I think I would get depressed," she remarked.

"Well," Peter spoke, turning his eyes to the road, "It's not all news, they talk about other random topics,"

"Such as?" she prompted.

"Such as… Foreign cheeses." He smiled quirkily.

She laughed again. "Why?"

"I find a lot of stuff weirdly interesting."

"I've noticed," she remarked with a teasing smile. "You're so goofy."

He reddened a little. "I'm goofy?"

"Yeah," she replied, then noticed his sudden blush. "In a good way. It's a good thing."

He breathed out slow, smiling, "Alright…"

She winced a little. "I didn't make it weird, did I?"

"Not at all," Peter replied, giving a nervous glance to a nearby semi truck. "It's a weird compliment for me. Most people just call me, y'know. Weird, or. Smart,"

"Well, you are. But most people aren't your dancing partner, now are they?" she asked, shooting him a teasing wink.

He looked at his knees for a second, bashfully, "Well, I dunno. Yeah. I guess,"

She laughed. "You don't have to be embarrassed."

"I appreciate it," he spoke, "Like… I dunno." He was struggling to express a personal thought. Peter always struggled with being emotionally honest.

"Take your time," Violet encouraged.

"I'm just bad with compliments," he murmured, shifting his hands on the wheel. "Listen, so… I'm just used to giving, not recieving, I guess, the way I grew up with my brothers. Y'know. I had to worry about them more than me, with mom being sick all the time,"
