(I think I scared her away whoops!)

@ElderGod-Carrots

(Bahaha, I do the same thing, lmao don't worry. Also sorry if I'm slow today, I have a drama excursion)
The music from the band started to play softly through the room, filling every crevice that might have once been quiet. Dorian started to lead them through the dance, one he'd done a thousand times over and was now ingrained in his memory. He'd always thought it was useless until now.

As the music started, so did the whispers. She could practically feel them sweep through the room and the small amount of confidence she'd built crumbled. She dropped her gaze from his and her smile faded slightly. Of course, people were talking about her, no one ever saw her and now she was dancing with the Earl's son. She tried to shake it off but the sound seemed to stick to her skin.

Dorian had a knack for reading people most of the time, and it was a skill he valued in himself. His head tilted to the side slightly as he spun her around once, then twice, then pulled her to his body again, "If you're uncomfortable we can stop," he muttered, "But you're doing fantastic, everyone in here is just a bunch of pigs if you ask me."

She giggled softly, her smile returning for a second. "I think they're all just jealous that you saw me before them." Which I still find surprising seeing as I pretty much blend in with the wall.

@ElderGod-Carrots

Dorian chuckled quietly, "Of course. Who wouldn't be jealous when you saw someone dancing with beautiful woman?" He grinned cheekily, "I would be, but luckily it was me who had the honor to dance with you."

@Elder-God-Jacks347

She blushed bright red, her eyes refusing to meet his. "That's not true. I think they're jealous that a girl they've never seen before-" Even though she's always been there… "-managed to catch the eye of the famous Utarian's son. Or at least one of them."

@ElderGod-Carrots

"Famous? I wouldn't say I'm famous," Dorian shrugging a shoulder slightly, his eyes never leaving the girl in front of him, "Let's just say it's both of us, how about that? Then we won't spend the evening arguing about this."

@Elder-God-Jacks347

"Certainly better known than me." She forced her eyes to met his and her heart nearly stopped. Oh be still my heart, his eyes are beautiful. She could stare into them forever if he'd let her.

@ElderGod-Carrots

Dorian smiled, “Maybe if you didn’t hide in corners at every party you’d be as well known as I am,” The music of the song finished and Dorian bowed low, “Care for a walk?”

@Elder-God-Jacks347

She rolled her eyes with a smile and curtsied in return. "A walk sounds lovely. It'd be great to get to know you a little better."

@ElderGod-Carrots

“Wonderful.” Taking her hand gently, Dorian led her out of the ballroom and into the majors gardens. Candles lit up the gravel pathways and different coloured flowers lines each pathway. White roses were always his favourite.

@Elder-God-Jacks347

She took a deep breath, just smelling the flowers as they walked. "It's so nice out here. When I'm at home I spend all my free time out in the gardens."

@ElderGod-Carrots

Dorian couldn’t hide his smile, “There’s something be we have in common. I spend most of my time out here, too. Or riding.”

@Elder-God-Jacks347

A small smile fluttered across her lips. "You should smile more often, it makes your entire face light up." She couldn't help it, she was a writer, noticing these things was what she did.

@ElderGod-Carrots

He went a light shade of pink at the compliment. In all honesty he wasn’t really used to them, “Ah, thank-you. When you’re with someone who’s good company it’s hard not to smile for them.”

@Elder-God-Jacks347

"Ooo, you blush easily. That's good to know for future reference." She bit back her giggle. "I'm just now realizing I never caught your name."

@ElderGod-Carrots

Dorian rubbed at the back of his neck as he looked to the ground to stop her from noticing it anymore, “It’s Dorian, Lady. And yours might be? I feel like a fool for not asking.”

@Elder-God-Jacks347

She just laughed, surprised she hadn't asked earlier. "Fiona. It's a pleasure to meet you."

@ElderGod-Carrots

“Please, the pleasure is all mine, Fiona,” Dorian placed a hand over his heart before he lowered it, “Care to tell me what you do for fun?”

@Elder-God-Jacks347

"Mostly reading and writing. I people-watch a lot to get ideas for characters and plotlines. I have journals upon journals of stories I've created, it's actually quite scary sometimes. But really it's-" She cut herself off suddenly, looking away with a bright red blush on her cheeks. "Sorry, you probably don't want to hear me rant."

@ElderGod-Carrots

Dorian couldn’t help but chuckle, picking up a rose from a near by flower bed, “No no, please, I don’t mind in the slightest. No need to apologise.”

@Elder-God-Jacks347

"I'm just…not usually a very talkative person." She mumbled quietly, coming through her hair with her fingers.

@ElderGod-Carrots

"Well, I like hearing your voice, so don't be afraid to ramble when you're around me." He nudged her gently with his elbow playfully.

@Elder-God-Jacks347

"You only met me 10 minutes ago." She giggled, brushing her hair out of her eyes.

@ElderGod-Carrots

"So? I don't care," Dorian grinned, "And if you care then you shouldn't, I'm not one to judge."

@Elder-God-Jacks347

"Such a gentleman." She smiled a little. "I'm sorry, I feel it's only polite to ask, are you already betrothed? I feel like you would be and I'd hate to be stealing you away from the lucky young lady."

@ElderGod-Carrots

The male just chuckled and shook his head and waved a hand dismissively, "Nah, I'm not betrothed. None of the women my father has had visit aren't my type and quite frankly, it's making him mad and I don't care in the slightest."

@Elder-God-Jacks347

"I know the feeling. My father is the same way since I'm his eldest daughter. It's annoying, it truly is but there isn't much I can do about it." She shrugged.

@ElderGod-Carrots

“I think by now I’m just rejecting them to make him mad. Then again, they’re all stuck up and have no love for adventure.” Dorian sighed and shook his head a little.
