She rolled her eyes, her good mood seeming to vanish.

"Didn't like the joke?"
She shook her head, shrinking into herself.
"I'm sorry, I won't do it again." He hugged her tightly, kissing the top of her head.
She seemed to squirm in his arms, almost uncomfortable.
He relaxed his grip, almost to the point where he wasn’t even touching her now.
She calmed a little at that but still said nothing. She scratched at a scar on her neck like a dog as if she was trying to take her skin off.
Dorian bit his lip, staying quiet. If she wanted to talk or wanted him to help in anyway all she had to do was say the word and he would.
She hated asking for help, she thought it made her sound whiney or incapable. So she never did. She kept scratching until she drew blood but just kept going.
When Dorian noticed the blood, he gently took her hand to stop her, lowering it to her side. The last thing he wanted was for her to hurt herself more.
She dug her nails into his leg, using the pain as a way to stay anchored to reality.
He tried not to wince slightly, again moving her hand away and taking her other as well, "Fiona?"
Her breathing was slightly uneven, her attention on the feeling of her blood dripping down her neck so she wouldn't have to go through her PTSD.
"Fiona I need you to breathe from me, please, focus on the sound of my voice. I'm here and I love you."
She tried to listen to him, she tried to breathe but her throat kept closing up and she would choke on her air.
"Slowly, princess, in…. and out…. in…. and out…"
She tried again, listening to his instructions and she managed to get through it although she was it shook and was a bit spastic.
"That's it, keep going, just like that beautiful."
She tried again and failed miserably, she started trembling, whimpering softly.
"Hey shh, I'm right here precious, I'm right here and I'll always be right here, yeah? Breathe and focus on my voice, I'm here to protect you, I always will be."
She tried to do as he said and actually managed to calm down a little but not much.
"That's it. I love you so much princess, you mean to the world to me and nothing is ever going to change that."
She forced an artificial calm over herself until she eventually relaxed into a real one.
Dorian hummed softly, hoping to help her calm down even more.
She took a deep breath, finally relaxing. "Sorry, sorry, I know my attacks aren't pretty…I'm sorry you had to deal with one."
“Hey no, don’t apologise princess,” He replied, resting his hand on her cheek softly, “I’ll be here to help you from now on, okay? I don’t want you to suffer alone.”
"I don't want you to suffer alone either." She glanced up at him, cracking the barest hint of a smile.
Dorian smiled softly back, kissing the tip of her nose, "I love you."
"I love you more." She cuddled into his chest, forcing her mind away.
Dorian wrapped his arms around her lightly, playing with the ends of her hair, "No, I love you way more."
