You look around the store, wondering what pet you're going to take home. There's lizards, there's kittens, mice, baby dragons, and plenty of fish. There's owls, bears, cats with wings, it was endless. Something feels off about the place, about yourself. You blink a few times before somebody rams into you.

why pet stsore: for a spell i think
"Oh, my god, I'm so sorry!" She covers her face in embarassment as the man looks down at his coffee stained clothes. There's leaves woven in between her dark chocolate strands. Her hair was relatively short, and the shade brought out her excessive freckles. She raises her hand up to her hair, unsure of what to do. "I completely was not paying attention, oh my…"
She looks up at him and cocks her head. "No ❤"
She looks up at him and cocks her head. "No? I mean, sir, I was the clumsy one here. It simply wouldn't make sense!"
But, she took another glance at the man. "However, I would not mind buying you a new button up," she says with a light smile.
Tyler holds a hand up to gently wave the suggestion off.
"As I said, don't worry about it." He brushes a hand against the large stain on his shirt, wiping the entirety of it away. The stain disappears as if it was never there in the first place. He raises an eyebrow at the lady.
"Now, about that coffee?"
She raises an eyebrow, slightly shaking her head at herself as if she had forgotten about magic for a split second. "If you insist," she coos. The walls around them began to fall apart, as if a void was sucking pieces of the world out of existence. A coffee shop melts in. Both her and the man flinch and scan their new surroudings. "I'm sorry, what?" Nobody in the room seems shocked.
Tyler furrows a brow at her, looking around at the shop. "Hm, haven't been here before. Is this where you got your previous cup?"
He gazes at the menu, wondering if they had any tea that he might be interested in. The atmosphere calmed him enough, he debated on whether he should get some in the first place.
"No, I-" she gently hits his arm. "You're not going to question what the fuck just happened?" She wonders what kind of man she ran into, what he had gone through to not think this is the least bit strange. There was magic, sure, but not teleportation. Not like that. She rubs her arms, the AC giving her goosebumps.
She gently tugs at his arm. "No point in looking, we'll never be able to figure it out. Let's just have that coffee." The menu contains a large variety of drinks, ranging from coffees to frappucinos to teas to smoothies. She steps up to the cashier.
"Hello! Welcome to Iced! What can I get you two today?"
"I'll have the Apricot Laced Tea." She turns her head towards Tyler.
"Pearl Tea."
"And can I get a name?" the cashier chirps.
"Ivy."
She nods her head, shifting her weight from one foot to the other. "You never told me your name, sir!" Ivy says, watching the workers behind the counter as they move swiftly around the small kitchen. They pour the drinks and ice as if they were robots, not even thinking twice about their movements.

"Ivy!" the employee calls out, sliding their drinks over the counter. She takes hers and they head to a secluded table.
"Okay, Tyler, I like that. So, why were you at the pet store?" she inquires, taking a big sip of her tea. The tangy sweetness of the apricot made her smile.
Before I answered her question, I took a quick sip of the tea, the heat warming up my throat as it goes down.
"I'm fairly well versed in magic and spells." I mutter, blinking at the scent of the teas mixing in the air. "Many pay me for my skill. I was there to stock up."
My eyes flutter to her as I take another sip. "And you?"
Ivy studies his face. She couldn't tell if Tyler what hybrid he was; his features are fairly human, but who really knows. Nonetheless, Ivy didn't fancy the idea of using live animals for spells, but she kept that to herself. "That's cool, I grew up alone so I never learned how to harness my magic," she frowns, "Maybe you can teach me! And I was there because I'm always there, I like to free one animal the chance I get to, just because I feel bad they're always cooped up."
I nodded, blinking my eyes at her suggestion that I teach her. I wonder if she understands what kind of magic I'm talking about.
"So you're the thief that the cashier always tells me about." I grin, taking a sip of my tea as I shrug my shoulders at the thought. "Good for you, then. I understand the sentiment, but can't afford to develop it myself anymore."
She twirls her straw around her drink, the ice clinking into each other to swirl the sugars around. Blush fills her cheeks as Tyler mentions that she's the thief. Ivy eyes him curiously and says, "I try to buy them when I can, but after awhile it looks suspicious. And I don't have enough money. So, what kind of spells do you make?"
The cafe mutters on, sounds of coffee being made, such and such. A hole appeared to grow in the corner of the room, but at a much slower rate. It is nearly unnoticeable.
I close my eyes for a moment to think, a sly smirk escaping me.
"I'm a businessman. My spells depend on the wants of my clients. For the most part, they're pretty simple. Good fortune, karma and revenge, love, but sometimes they ask for something a bit more…complex. Like power, or revival."
I lean back in my chair, eyes drifting out the window.
"I like to say I'm pretty well-rounded."
