North kept an eye on the smol while she wobbled around. “How long do you think they’ll be?”

Pax sighed and shook his head as an answer. The smol went on her wobbly way, over to the door.

North crawled over to her and took the smol back to where they were sitting. “Sorry, you can’t leave just yet.”

The smol shouted in happiness, which sounded eerily like a scream. He wiggled happily, waving her legs.

North set the small in her lap and held it around the middle so she couldn't run away again.

The smol cooed loudly, wiggling her arms fretfully, leaning forward. Her pink little dress wiggled around her arms as she moved.

"I'm not letting you run away." She said, holding the smol gently.

Pax chuckled as the smol cooed up at her but relaxed anyway. She giggled occasionally at the little nose-boop from Pax.

"So..Pax..why wouldn't you talk to Life?"

Pax sighed and shook his head. “I don’t like him. I don’t like Death, either.”

"But Life is really nice. Why don't you like him?"

Pax shook his head. “Life is just a temporary thing. I don’t understand why they made it a God.”

"Death doesn't have to be permanent either." She pointed out.

Pax sighed. “Human deaths are permanent. Many other deaths are too.”

"Well…yeah I guess. I hate Death. He's so…horrible."

“I don’t think you should hate Death. He just wants to be liked.”

"Why? Most people don't like dying."

“Still. Death is very kind. He just wants to have friends, not be hated for no reason.”

"He wouldn't let me die. I spent years of my life wanting Death and I never got it."

“That is not a genuine reason to hate him.” Pax looked at her.

"For making me waste years of my life being depressed. I think it is genuine." She snapped, not looking at him.

Pax shook his head slowly. “It is not a reason.”

"I..I just hate that feeling and i'm glad it's gone but..so much of my life was wasted on wanting to die.."

Pax sighed. “Just be glad you’re not wasting your time with it now. That time is over, now.”

"Yeah..yeah." She sighed, patting the smol on the head.

Pax sighed, deciding to drop it. He couldn’t convince her to think anything.

(Yeah well I was really insensitive and mean)

"But I guess I don't have to take it out on Death.."

(You weren’t the insensitive one.)

Pax sighed. “I understand why, though. It’s normal. But Death is a good, caring and understanding God.”

(well it wasn't connie either. She didn't realize how you were feeling)

"Yeah..he's okay i guess."

(She was being annoying with it, though. She’s constantly complaining and I just got irritated. I’m the insensitive one.)

Pax sighed. “You should try and get to know him.”
