It had been about a week or so since they'd worked on their paper, and Adrian came over and knocked on Kore's door, wanting to talk to her about it.
Kore had been working on another paper at her desk. She heard the knock and took a moment to get herself out of the chair and hobbled over to the door. She opened it up for Adrian, "Um, hi."
"Hey. We, uh, need to work on that paper."
"Oh, yeah," Kore opened the door a bit wider, "Umm, wanna come in?"
"Sure." He came in, quiet and careful not to disturb anything.
"Um, I'll sit on the bed and you can sit at the desk?" Kore offered to Adrian.
"That works." he smiled a little, sitting at the desk.
"Cool," Kore said as she lowered herself onto her bed, "So, um, did you take notes on the books like we planned?"
"I did, yeah. I have them here." he pulled out his notebook, flipping through it until he found the right page.
"Great! We can, um, work on a structure now?" Kore started the statement strong, but quickly backed off.
Adrian nodded. "Yeah, sure."
"Okay cool, so um what points do you want to make first?" Kore suggested.
He cleared his throat faintly, thinking.
Kore hummed for a moment in thought, "Maybe, um, something about the portrayal in the books?"
"Yeah, that's probably good."
"Okay, cool, um one point down."
He laughed a little. "Yeah. Sorry, I'm, ah, not the best at group projects."
"Um, that's cool. I'm not great either," Kore gave a wobbly smile.
He laughed again, smiling at her.
Kore felt her cheeks flush partly from embarrassment and partly from the attention she was given and she let out a weak laugh.
He looked down at his notes again after a moment.
Kore looked back down at her notes and hummed for a moment in thought.
He made a small notation, cocking his head.
Kore glanced up to see him looking at her, "Um, what?"
"Nothing."
