(Would you mind starting it back up?)

@ElderGod-Icefire

(yeah sure)

It had been three days and Shroud was out on the streets again. Shroud was not quite a good person; while not an outright psychopath, he didn't seem to have a very good moral compass. He'd killed before, though not to the extent htat some villains had.

@ShadeStar

Phoenix was out on patrol for the fifth night in a row. Normally she had breaks, but the villains had been more active recently for whatever reason. She let out a sigh as she continued calmly around her patrol route hoping she wouldn't run into anyone tonight. She didn't know how much energy she could expend before having to call it quits given so much went to just keeping her walking.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Shroud was working with one of the other villains, Sorrow, to accomplish one of their goals. It was going well, in their opinions. Of course, "well" for a villain meant "ill" for everyone else, but they didn't care.

@ShadeStar

Phoenix caught wind that Shroud and Sorrow were causing some mischief and she began to head towards where the reports were. She landed on the roof looking down on the two villains. She said nothing as she flung a string of energy at Sorrow and Shroud in an attempt to catch them, or scare them off quickly, without needing to have a real confrontation.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Neither seemed to care, though Shroud vanished from sight and Sorrow sent her a mocking grin, tilting their head in a parody of the Cheshire Cat.

@ShadeStar

Phoenix scowled at the reaction of the two. She pulled the energy back into herself before hopping down to their level. She threw another tendril of energy at Sorrow keeping an eye out for Shroud.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Sorrow gave another mocking grin, their eyes glinting behind their mask as they darted away from the energy tendril.

@ShadeStar

Phoenix pulled the tendril to follow him as she shot another one in the opposite direction. This second one was meant to stun while the first was to capture.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Sorrow was laughing as the tendrils chased them, their brown hair flowing behind them. Sorrow's abilities were…strange, to say the least. They could give you an incredibly painful feeling of intense sadness, and could manipulate water. Especially salt water.

@ShadeStar

Pheonix began to chase after him, forgetting about Shroud in the process. If she could get Sorrow, then she would be happy. Her tendrils retreated in order to give her a speed boost instead.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Sorrow continued to laugh and laugh and laugh. That was another unsettling bit about them; they laughed at you when you tried to capture them.

@ShadeStar

Phoenix was used to Sorrow's laughter having chased them multiple times before. She was slowly making ground though was losing energy faster than she would like.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Shroud appeared suddenly, far closer to her than she could perhaps have anticipated.

@ShadeStar

Phoenix cursed as Shroud appeared and instinctively skidded to a halt. She threw out her energy and attempted to catch the villain once more.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Shroud smiled a little bit, vanishing again.

@ShadeStar

Phoenix pulled her energy back in and she looked around to see if she could catch sight of either rof the villains. Despite her seemingly limitless energy, she was running low and didn't have much to spare before she ended up falling to her knees.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Sorrow had managed to get further away while Shroud distracted her. Neither villain seemed worried when she collapsed.

@ShadeStar

Kore grited her teeth as she got back up and went to run again. She now had to physically take them down if she wanted to capture the pair. She barely managed to catch up to Sorrow when her legs almost faltered again. Maybe she should give up on the chase and head back to headquarters before she ended up revealing a weakness.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Sorrow was laughing again, sending small bits of his own abilities rippling towards her.

@ShadeStar

Phoenix did in fact end up on her knees as sorrow ripped through her. She drained almost all bits of her energy left to at least collapse somewhere where she was less likely to be seen. Fuck, why was she so weak?

@ElderGod-Icefire

Sorrow was an asshole, was really all it boiled down to. They liked causing pain.

@ShadeStar

Phoenix positioned herself so she was hiding behind the bin as she rested. She really hated Sorrow and the constant patrols didn't help her energy levels.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Shroud was still out there somewhere, too.

@ShadeStar

After a few minutes had passed Phoenix had enough energy to probably make it back to headquarters. She slowly stood up and began to make her way back,

@ElderGod-Icefire

Shroud and Sorrow kept a wary eye on her as she began to leave.

@ShadeStar

Phoenix couldn't bear to look at them as she half limped away. She couldn't go after them, not in her current state.

@ElderGod-Icefire

They eventually returned to whatever they had been working on.

@ShadeStar

Another hero, one by the name of Crystalline, swung by where Phoenix had left the two villains to pick up where she had left off.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Sorrow and Shroud frowned when Crystalline appeared, quite unhappy at this new interruption.
