Avery turned around as well abd took her phone out of the hidden pocket inside her jacket. Dialing a very familiar number, she brought the device up to her ear.

“Velocity? Yeah, I have a small situation… No, no. I’m not hurt… No, I just need to take someone to the hideout…” she sighed and rubbed the bridge of her nose beneath her mask. “V, would you please just make sure that no one else is there? I have to make sure we can trust this guy before any of you meet him… Yes, it is a guy… No, I do not just want he time alone with him. My word, Velocity, I’m still getting over… Okay. Thank you. Goodbye.”

In her little workshop, Brella opened a cabinet and nabbed her expanded toolbox, taking only a second to note with satisfaction that she was already getting used to her new workspace.

With her guantlets barely damaged during the fight, she only had maintenance to do. He boots, on the other hand, had taken a bit of a beating due to her hasty and reckless retreat. Those took a hammer and some minor reconstruction, but she had enough scrap to make that happen. Forgoing a welding kit, Brella used energy to fuse together the new plates, and simply beat out some of the smaller dents, which had missed all the important wiring bits. The fitting went back in after the work was done, and she took a minute to try them out before setting them on a shelf above her computer.

She peeked between the boards of the blocked up window of her shop, and swore she saw a flash of red among the black sky.

Avery hung up with a sigh and stuffed the phone back in it’s hiding place. She turned back to Shadow, crossing her arms over her chest.

“We’re all set to go if you’re ready. All of my teammates are at their houses,” she explained.

@Mr.Misfit

Dylan used his powers to cover his mouth and nose, and his eyes turned black. Now comfortably obscure, he turned towards Aspect and nodded, letting her lead the way.

Brella began to panic a little as the red approached her little hideout. She pressed her wings to an outlet and drained all the enrgy from the building. The whole place went dark. She slipped into her gauntlets and boots and listened intently for any sound coming from the roof.

“Do you mind a car ride? Because it’s too far to walk from here,” Avery explained, tapping a spot on her suit.

(Did you want the red thing to be Megan?)

@Mr.Misfit

(Yeah, that was the plan. Apologies, I probably should've explained. We should get the villains together either after a mini fight of their own, or have one pretty much spy on the other until they get found out.)

(Ah, okay. Thanks. That's a good idea. I like the fight idea; more action and interaction that way.)

Megan flew up to the building, careful to keep out of sight of the two heroes on the roof. She stumbled a little as she fell, due to her bad wing, but she caught herself before she could fall.

There was someone in the building; she had seen her go in when she dropped the man off. And now she was incredibly curious about the other winged woman…

@Mr.Misfit

"You have a car?" Dylan asked, miffed, "You're not worried about being traced? Why not just shape-shift?" He held his hand out to his right, and his shadowed motorcycle formed, "I usually use this…"

Avery shrugged as the car drove up. "It's a very nice car. Lots of toys," she half-joked with a small smile. "You'd be surprised that no one has followed me yet."

@Mr.Misfit

Dylan raised an eyebrow, but shrugged summoned steps to take him and Aspect off the roof. As they approached, the door opened on its own, and there was no one at the wheel.

"Wait, what? Your car self-drives?" he said, surprised, "Well okay then… that's frickin cool."

Brella got tired of waiting and went outside through her only open window. Using her gauntlets and wings, she ascended up onto the roof, where she found absolutely nothing.

Shadow must have tracked me here…. or maybe a new friend of his here?

Her hands began to glow, "I don't really feel like dealing with pests right now, so if you're out here, scram!"

Avery chuckled and walked over to run her hand over the hood of the car.

"Hey, Oscar," she greeted the silver mustang before sitting down in the driver's seat.

"Welcome back, Aspect," it replied in a masculine, and slightly British-sounding, voice.

"This is Shadow. We're taking him to the hideout," she explained as the car opened its passenger side door for the man.

@Mr.Misfit

Dylan's pitch-black eyes went wide, "Woah…. ok, you can stop showing off now. "

It really was quite impressive, and he couldn't help but admire the whole picture… Aspect had a good thing going. She was going to be a very useful ally indeed. He slid into the driver's seat and they took off, Aspect not even bothering to put her hands on the wheel.
(Maybe we wanna focus on the villains for a while?)

(Sure.)

Megan laughed and walked out from behind the building. She pushed at the air with her wings and shot into the sky before landing in front of the other woman.

“I would hardly call myself a pest, but you may if you’d like,” she declared with a shrug. “Though don’t think you’ll get very far with that.”

@Mr.Misfit

The bird woman laughed as she flew, and landed with grace, which in truth only made Brella hate her more.

"You better have a good reason for being nosy, birdie pest," she taunted, "if you don't, you should fly away now, before you become the second rear I kick today."

@Mr.Misfit

(Aaahhh! The snow does not want me to be happy…. Why Indiana, why?)

@Imperfect_Autumn group

(XD Lol. It’s been way below zero up here for the past week, so I feel you.)

“As if you could,” Megan chuckled, shaking her head. “If anything, you’ll be my second victory today, after that weird shadow dude.”

@Mr.Misfit

Brella broke.

Aiming both her hands straight at the birdie's chest, she opened a wide killing beam, attempting to cut her in two. The building behind her target shuddered, but remained upright.

Megan’s eyes widened as she quickly moved to the side. This is why you can’t mock people, Meg. You might get shot at.

She ran up to the other woman and slashed at her with her claws. If she wanted a fight, then she would get one.

@Mr.Misfit

Brella felt the claws dig into her skin, completely ignoring her jacket. Cursing, Brella raised her left arm to deflect the claws with her gauntlet, and with her right arm she pushed back at her attacker, using energy to help fuel the strike and create some distance. "Keep your filthy hands away from me!" She spat, eyes and wings alight.

Megan glared at her as she was pushed away, and she glared her wings out intimidatingly. Who was the person, anyway? She came into her city and messed with her people… Who did she think she was?

“Maybe if you didn’t try to blow me to pieces I wouldn’t have to cut you,” she hissed back.

@Mr.Misfit

Brella's response was another beam, much narrower, aimed at her right wing. She had become aware of her dwindling energy reserves, and was trying to conserve. Crippling her attacker might be better then just cutting her in half.

For now.

Not waiting to see if the shot hit home, Brella back-flipped off the building, connected her wings to a nearby light pole, and drew as much energy as she could. She felt the flow, and turned to face the birdie, who would be coming down the building any second now….

Megan gasped as the beam hit her wing, and she stumbled a little from the shock of it. With a growl, she walked to the edge of the rooftop and jumped down, landing on her feet with her wings spread to the side. Her damaged wing was in full view, showing the scratches from the shadowy man and the hole from the winged lady.

@Mr.Misfit

Brella grinned as the birdie landed. Her wings, which Brella had originally mistaken for real, were nothing more than a winged contraption. And they'd seen some action.

She also noted that the birdie had managed to land without a slight stumble, even with the hole in her wing. Impressive. Maybe it'd be worth it to spare her, if Brella could just get her to submit…

"You're annoyingly difficult to get rid of," Brella smirked, "If it weren't for your attitude, we could be besties." She readied her hands for yet another wide beam, scaling back the power she put in. Her hands glowed, waiting to release the energy.

Megan scoffed and rolled her eyes, still watching the neon-winged woman carefully. She definitely didn't want to get hit by one of those beams again; her wings had taken enough damage for the day. They would have to be taken in by the ALPHA Team as soon as she could get them to them.

"Well, I have heard that I'm rather difficult to get along with, but it's not impossible," she said with a shrug, her claws at the ready if the woman decided to attack.

@Mr.Misfit

"So try to get along, then. Answer a question for me, and you go free, to fly away like the little birdie you are." Brella practically spat out the words, "Who did you run into before you found me? They gave you a hard time, I can tell, and I wanna meet them. We'd have plenty to talk about."

@Imperfect_Autumn group

Megan’s nostrils flared at the other’s tone, and she stuffed her hands in her front pockets.

“Just some shadowy guy who threw daggers he seemed to create out of thin air at me. He got stuck in my wing, and I dragged him here before flying away for a quick break,” she explained with a shrug. “Why? Who were you fighting?”

@Mr.Misfit

(Oh fie, the superbowl. How it must strangle me so. Did you guys do anything for that?)

"I'm the one asking the question!" Brella snapped, suddenly furious, "You brought Shadow right to my doorstep?! He is the reason I'm not in charge of you right now!"
She turned her back on the bird-woman and prepared to fly off herself. Casting a quick glance over her shoulder, she added, "I'm done with you, now scram!"

He can never leave me alone, can he? Any shmuck off the street would think he adores me!

This place was supposed to be her rich source of information for that special new energy source. But with Shadow in the way, and that damned huntress, life was gonna be fun.

Brella's feet raised off the ground and angled herself down the road, preparing to chase after Shadow and the huntress.

(I didn’t do anything, but my sister went to a party at a family friends’ house. I was at the Mall of America with my friend and her boyfriend.
Do we maybe want to go back to Dylan and Avery?)

@Mr.Misfit

(We should write both. Meg and Brella haven't exactly resolved themselves yet. Unless you had something in mind?)

@Imperfect_Autumn group

(I did not. I was just at a loss as for how to respond. Lol.)

Oscar pulled up outside an older-looking building made of gray brick, with windows scattered here and there. It was about two stories tall, and a satellite dish rested on top, much like a dish for television.

We have arrived at the hideout, Aspect,” the car declared as it pulled around to the back and parked, uncloaking once it was out of sight.

“Thank you, Oscar,” Avery said, opening her door. “Are you ready, Shadow?”
