Eden’s POV:

I stopped walking, turning my head to look at Sterling with a frown on my features. I didn’t want to get to know anyone, or to make new friends. I was perfectly fine with only knowing Sterling in here, but it was understandable why Sterling suggested it. He wanted me to open my social circle. Besides, I shouldn’t be dooming Sterling to a life of introverts since he preferred getting to know people.

“… I don’t want to,” I finally answered honestly. “But we’ll do that.”

Eden’s POV:

I linked our fingers together, smiling softly before wrapping my arms around him.

“Sterling…” I murmured.

I left that classroom as quickly as I could, crossing the campus for the third time that morning. The cloud cover had eased a little, giving way to a respectable amount of warm sunbeams that made the shadows play across the ground. I inserted my earbuds into my ears and pulled out my phone, scrolling through my playlist until my fingers stalled on the screen. Perfect. With ABBA’s Dancing Queen blasting in my ears, I made my way to my next class, successfully washing myself free of the awful nauseous feeling Gray had left behind.

Eden’s POV:

“I love you,” I whispered softly, looking up at him.

Eden's POV:

I kissed him back softly before pulling away, a small smile on my face.

"I suppose we should look for Violeta then," I said softly, although I really didn't want to pull away. Kissing Sterling was addicting. I could never admit it out loud to Sterling, but I was addicted to him. His quirky smile, his eyes, his mouth, his face-I was addicted to everything. I slowly traced his cheek, biting my lower lip as I waited for his response.

I tapped my pen against my lower lip, staring down at the paper on the desk before me. My notes, all meticulously handwritten while the teacher talked away. Theory, technique, various methods, all there in front of me. Something to study from. College wasn’t going to be easy— I had to be prepared. Sighing, I continued to listen, marking down whatever I was told to.

Eden’s POV:

These little affectionate gestures made my heart flip. And squeeze and feel like it’s going to burst. I loved how Sterling wasn’t afraid to show his love to me by doing little things like kissing my cheek, or my hand, or my forehead, or even admit in front of people that he loved me. It made me happy that I’d fallen for such an amazing man.

“All right,” I smiled widely. “Let’s go find her before lunch starts.”

”And you know, you know, know, life could be beautiful~”

I hummed along to the song, leaving my Studio Art class with an extra bounce in my step. My favourite class had admittedly helped to clear my head, improve my mood, clear the still-tired fog from my head. Walking outside, I inhaled the fresh air, headed towards my dorm— and that’s when I saw them. Sterling and Eden, from the morning.

Eden’s POV:

“I think I might not go through college as easily as I did high school,” I said to Sterling, walking big steps. It sucked having a boyfriend who was tall, because then it required a lot of effort to walk alongside him. Although the hugs were awesome, I find it annoying having Sterling slow down so I could walk easily. “I think. The extra subject I took, Environmental Science… the teacher assigned us a project on the first day. It sounds extremely tiring.”

I looked ahead, my eyes catching Violeta’s, the very girl we were searching for. I nudged Sterling.

“There,” I said to him, looking directly at Violeta.

Eden met my eyes from across the quad, but I couldn't tell whether she was being friendly or not. She nudged Sterling– that was his name, right?– to get his attention, had they been looking for me? You're being stupid, why would they be looking for you? An instinctive smile appearing on my lips, I tugged one earbud out from my ear and crossed the quad to meet them.

"Hey, there," I greeted casually, coming to a stop. "Sterling and Eden, right?"

Eden’s POV:

I nodded slowly, wondering whether I should leave the talking to Sterling, or speak myself. I decided to give it a try, make Sterling happy for at least trying.

“Violata,” I said, testing her name on my tongue before continuing in an even tone. “Join us. For lunch.”

I could easily tell that Eden would rather not be talking to me– so why was she inviting me to lunch? I bit the inside of my cheek, removing the second earbud and wrapping the cord around my hand. "Sure, if that's what you want. Thanks," I said happily, but not too brightly in case I weirded either one of them out.

Grayson’s POV:

I was casually walking when I noticed Eden and Sterling in the distance. If I have to be honest, I think I like those people. Or starting to, anyway. I gained new respect for Eden (mostly because I liked my face the way it is), but I gained higher respect for Sterling. Out of all the guys I’d met, that one was one of a kind.

I reached them just as I heard Eden invite Violeta out for lunch. It surprised me that she took the initiative, considering she really didn’t like interacting with other people. I knew that because I’ve shared classes with her before, like Environmental Science for one, and she ignored everyone who tried talking to her.

I didn’t know what Violeta had against me, though. I didn’t remember doing anything to her, other than flirt. Did we by any chance make out? Did I have a one night stand with her sister? Did I break her best friend’s heart? I didn’t know. I mean, I’ve known her since high school. I’ve never even met her sister, or her best friend, and I would sure as hell remember kissing someone like Violeta. So what did I even do wrong that she hates me?

“Oh, lunch?” I pulled on my Cheshire grin as I reached them, stuffing my hands in my pockets. “With the Queen? Sounds fun! I’m in~“

I stiffened immediately, the laid-back demeanour dropping off me like a heavy cloak. "Right. I'm sorry, Eden and Sterling, but I'm not sure if I can join you for lunch after all." My tone was sincere, apologetic when directed towards them, but it hardened the moment my eyes shifted towards Gray. "Another time?"

(To be honest, that was funny. XD but Gray doesn’t know that. XD)

Gray’s POV:

I stiffened. Did she seriously hate me that much? I guess it hurt a little. She probably hated me for what I’m known for. She probably thought I was trash. I mean, it’s not like I don’t get told these kinds of things. I know what I’m like, and I don’t plan on changing my ways. But if you hate me, say it outright.

I forced a laugh to break through my lips. It came out easily, naturally, from all I times I practiced it.

“Sorry, my bad,” I smirked, raising my hands in mock surrender. “It wasn’t my intention to intrude. I was merely trying to bother you guys. It’s no fun tagging along with people who aren’t your friends. So cya, I’ve got some business to attend to.”

I winked, stuffing my hands back in my pockets and prepared to leave, making sure the confident look didn’t leave my features.
