background: Ariel is an only child who's only other sibling was an older brother who died of SID at only 3 months 5 years before she was born. she grew up in a very quiet home in portland, oregon– her father struggled with clinical depression for years following his first child's death while her mother wasted the family's money on a series of affairs with a work colleague. however, said financial squandering was inconsequential for her family, who are as a whole very wealthy due to an oil-barron grandfather, and her parents relationship improved as she aged, though they often still find themselves at odds.
