(I’m guessing i had it all written out but i forgot to post and i refreshed the page and it deleted. Because i tend to do that quite a bit XD)

She looked to her side to give him a little smile, that disappeared into confusion and suspicion when she saw the sword. She listened to him talk as she was pretty good at doing without interruption as everyone usually always did with her, thus never letting her talk so shes just gotten used to it and accepted her role in life.
She nodded “alright. Though its probably covered up for a good reason” she laughed a little.
She kept her eye on the sword while he looked for a hair tie.
“Here” she says slingshotting a hair tie from her wrist at his cheek. “What’s in the cloth huh?” She asks

(Oh, yikes. I always copy what I've written before doing literally anything because I just know I'll refresh the page and lose it if I don't. And it's terrible when you do that because what you've written before was the best and you can never write anything as good when you lose it. ;)

"Yeah, that's cause they don't want anyone getting the treasure. But we know better, don't we?" He looked over at her right as she shot the hair tie at him. It hit him in the cheek and fell towards the ground. "Ouch. But thank you. I usually carry them around, but I guess they're all in my bag. I'll give it back to you, I promise." He stooped and grabbed the hair tie from the ground, using it to pull his hair back in a ponytail. "Oh, it's a sword. I don't know what's going to be there, and having it is better than not having it. Who knows, we might need to duel an undead king to get the treasure!" Karia laughed, his eyes sparkling in the sunlight falling through the leaves of the trees above them. "Do you know how to use one?"

She rolled her eyes at his first comment. Know better? She was sure they were going to die on this trip.
Laughing when the hair tie hit him, seeing his reaction. He was cute. There was no denying that.
“Nah, keep it. I have plenty. With this much hair, i couldn’t live without them.” She let out a small giggle.
She always hid knives, daggers, anything that could be a weapon and she used was hidden in her clothes. Everywhere, all the time. She was always ready for someone to try to mug her. She had a nice body and looks, and she was rather confident. She attracted more guys than she wanted to.
So she wouldn't be surprised if anyone ever did try to hurt her. Its happened about 7 times before. She always beat the crap out of them. Almost.
She shook herself out of her own thoughts and turned back to Karia, hoping he wouldn't realize how distracted she was. She never cared what other people thought, but That was a touchy subject.

She felt almost insulted when he asked her how to use it. She gasped and put her hand on her chest.
“Why of course i know how to use a sword!! Ive Slaughtered a demon deity before with a sword! Actually, no I haven’t. But my friend did. Well whatever! I know how to use one! I just don’t do it a lot” she crossed her arms and rolling her mismatched eyes.

"Alright. Thanks again." Karia have her a warm smile, then laughed at her insulted look. "Calm down, I was just asking. No need to get so defensive." He shook his head slightly and looked ahead of them. They were nearby the fork in the road, though one could hardly tell it was a fork. The other path, the one they wanted to take, was overgrown from a lack of use, and had a few well-placed tree saplings partially blocking the way.

She stopped in front of the covered up back and looked down it with her hands on her hips.
She took one step, then another. “Well lets go then!” She says confidently.
(Sorry its short, I’m in a hurry)

( You're good! :)
"Oh, right, make me lead the way into the super sketchy area." Karia sighed heavily and walked forward, pushing aside branches and stepping over a log that looked like it had been moved there. The path beyond the trees was fading back into the forest, and it took Karia a few seconds to find where it was leading. "Oh, this is going to be so much fun!"

She rolled her eyes and chuckled. Her breath smelled of watermelon bubble gum and minty mouthwash just like it always does. She always carried watermelon gum in her pockets and her bags.
“Oh, I’m sure it will” she says with a smile, playfully pushing him and walked ahead of his, picking up a stick and twirling it in her fingers and humming “somewhere over the rainbow”

Karia sighed and let her lead the way. He'd tell her if they had to make any sudden moves, but that probably wouldn't be for several hours. The forest around them was quite dark– darker than it had been before they got into the unused path. Interesting. Karia glanced back at Crystal, smiling when he heard a few notes of the song she was humming. "This place looks pretty spooky, doesn't it?" He asked, wishing the path would get a bit wider so he could walk next to her.

(Cutie)

She looked around and took in her surroundings, stopping in her own footsteps and turning.
She looked at how the the leaves barely even moved by the wind in the thick forest. No chirping of birds or crickets, but a soft hum of a cicada. The old bark of the tall, thick trees cracked and splintered with a few ants crawling up them and into holes burrowed inside.
Her finger ran down the rough bark as she looked at it, then turning back to him with a smile.
“What, you scared?” She says flicking his nose with a teasing smirk.

"What? No. I just think it's interesting how much the forest changed." Karia gave her a playfully annoyed look and glanced around them. "I mean, look how close together the trees are! This place is really exceeding all of my expectations. It's a perfect setting for us. Two adventurous people looking to find some treasure and best up some monsters." He sighed, his expression one of pure joy. "I love this. I'm so glad you came, too. This wouldn't have been nearly as fun on my own." Karia looked over at her, a huge smile on his face.

He heart clenched right there when he turned to her with that big smile and said those words. She wasn't very needed in almost anything ever but somehow always ends up getting dragged along. Nobody even really talks to her on the trips. She just goes along with it.
She thought… Would it be the same with anyone else taking my place just because you didn't want to do this alone?
But she didn't voice it at all. Instead she forced a smile, pushing back her thoughts that were clouding those mismatched eyes of hers.
"you said this place changed. Have you gone here before? " she asks as she tucked a price of hair behind her ear. Her freckled cheeks relaxed and soft as she bit the inside of her lip. The path got just a bit wider so they could walk side by side.

Karia noticed the weird look in Crystal's eyes, but it disappeared quite soon and he didn't want to bring it up again. "Well, I haven't gone this way before, but I took the other path one time. You should see the forest over there. The trees are so far apart I'm not sure you can really call it a forest." He laughed, having fallen in step beside her. "Maybe it's the temple doing this," he waved around them, "or something else. I don't know." Karia shrugged and peeked over at Crystal from the corner of his eye. He knew there was something weird about how she'd reacted to his words before. But he didn't feel like bringing it up again. She might say that she only came for the treasure, or for some other reason. He didn't want to hear that. It would really ruin his mood. "But, uh, you should go the other way sometime. It's really pretty."

She found herself wanting to go the other way. The odds dangerous way. Just them two taking a trip in the forest and laughing with him as they talked about eachother.
She caught his eyes a little when he paused, though quickly looking back away and tucking a curly peice of blonde hair behind her ear.
"we should go there sometime together! That would be fun wouldn't it!? " she smiled back at him

"Oh, yeah! We could go after we finish this. It'll be the other part of the trip. The relaxing, beautiful, looking-at-nature part. We could bring food and have a picnic or something– there's a really pretty place I found where we could eat, next to a lake and a baby waterfall!" Karia grinned back at her, already looking forward to it. Then again, they could only do it if they didn't die at the temple thing they were going to. But he wasn't planning on dying, anyways. "What do you think?" Had he gone a little overboard with the picnic part? He didn't really know. Hopefully not.

She was thinking about all of the ways that a picnic after fighting to the death in some crazy forest temple could go wrong.
Wouldn't they be a bit tired? Where would they get their food? Or do they have food packed? Crystal didn't pack anything to eat. Only water and tools. She didn't even think about that. Though she was specially talented in the hunting division. A bow and arrow were her favorite. But the stealth she had, well she could easily sneak up on a deer and slit it's throat.
But instead, she laughed at the thought. "that really sounds nice. I would love that" she smiled. Just then as she took her eyes off of the path, she tripped and fell over a thick log. She tried to catch herself with her hands, but they just got scraped and she fell right to the ground. Though she didn't get too hurt.
"curse my clumsiness" she chuckled

"Wonderful!" Karia smiled and looked ahead of them, where the path wound around a tree and disappeared from sight. "It's a date." He looked back to Crystal just in time to see her trip and fall onto the ground. "Oh, gods, are you alright?" Karia stopped walking and dropped into a crouch next to her. "Is anything seriously hurt?" His honey eyes were darker in the shade of the big trees, but they were full of concern. "I have a first aid kit, if you need it." A glance around the forest showed that there wasn't anything around them– yet. But that log might have been put there by someone… or something. No, that wasn't it. He was being paranoid. Karia shook his head slightly and looked back at Crystal.

She sat up and laughed, using both hands, swiping them through her messy, though soft and now dry hair. She looked up at him with a smile. "I don't need a first aid kit. I'm a healer you dingus" she says looking down at her scraped hands. No blood had been drawn yet. But it would soon. She really didn't want to attract someone or something by the scent of blood nearby. That stuff is horrible putrid and strong to certain creatures.
The skin on her palm started to mend over the scrape and in almost thirty seconds it was as good as new. She didn't notice the small cut on her cheek though. It must have been a branch that smacked her on the way down.

"Oh, right. I forgot." Karia pressed his lips together, feeling rather embarrassed. He watched as she healed her hands, fascinated by how fast and effective it was. Hopefully she wouldn't need to do that very often, though. It was handy, having a healer, but getting hurt was not ideal. He looked at her face, eyes drawn to the scrape on her cheek. "You missed a spot. It's on your face, right there." Karia pointed to the cut, making sure not to actually touch it.

She stood up with a confident smile and a gleam in her eyes. "do I look hardcore?" she joked before grabbing a mirror out of her bag. Yeah, she carried a mirror but not food for herself to LIVE
She flipped open the small hand mirror and put her hand to her cheek, covering the scratch.
"there, done" she smiled as she removed her hand and looked into the mirror.

"About as hardcore as someone who just tripped over a log does," Karia answered, his mouth curving into a smile as he rose. "But that just might be because I saw you fall. If someone didn't know…" He tilted his head slightly, assessing what he saw. "Yeah, they'd think you looked hardcore." While Crystal was healing the cut on her face, Karia glanced around the forest again. A cloud had slid over the sun, plunging the whole place in shadow. "Shall we? I don't like the idea of staying in one place for very long."

She laughed at his comments, rolling her eyes playfully as she clapped the mirror shut and stuffed it into her back pocket.
"man I hate the dark" she ticked her tongue and started walking.
"let's go. Im afraid something's gonna jump out at me any second now… " she says looking around with wide eyes, trying to see

"Yeah, agreed. Let's keep our guards up from now on, yeah?" Karia glanced at her, then around at the forest again. He could swear he could see something sliding between the shadows of the trees– a squirrel jumped into the open, looking at them curiously for a few seconds before climbing up a tree and disappearing. Karia let out a breath and looked the other way. Standing between two trees was the silhouette of a person, eyes flashing in their shadowed face. "Agh!" Karia gasped and frantically tapped Crystal's shoulder, pointing at the figure with his other hand. "Look!"

She listened to the quite sounds of the dark forest to cool her mind so she didnt freak out. She was never the best with jump scares. And this was where in any horror movie a jump scare would jump out right in front of her face any second now.
She listened to the trees and the leaves, the crunching of gravel and small sticks below the twos feet as they walked. Karias breath with every step he took beside her.
A rustling made her snap out of her calm state only to see a squirrel in the pathway before running back off into the trees. A tap on her shoulder made her let out a small feminine yelp as she turned to him.
“What!? You scared me half to death” she says angrily, though not actually mad.
Looking to where he pointed and raising an eyebrow. “Do you see something?” She asks before stopping in her tracks. “N-never mind…” she says grabbing his hand and squeezing it as her other hand went to her side, gripping a thick black blade tucked and clipped onto her belt.

"Yeah, I see something. Creepy person!" Karia squeezed Crystal's hand, for the comfort of her… and him, as well. This place really could be scary when it wanted to be. And it seemed like it was trying extra, extra hard at the moment. Karia pulled the sword out of its wrapping with his other hand, keeping his eyes trained on the figure. It still didn't move– not even its eyes seemed to blink. "Uh, any ideas?" He breathed, leaning towards Crystal slightly so the figure couldn't hear him.

“I-i have no idea.” She whispered back at him, slowly unsheathing the blade, the black Damascus steel usually would have a shine to it, but there was close to no light flooding in through the leaves, leaving git almost invisible to the human eye.
She took a deep breath and looked at Karia warily. “Maybe….if we keep on walking we’ll be fine. Though watch our backs in case it follows us” she whispered before biting her full lip nervously.

@MarDeColores this is not it kids

"Hmm… that would probably work." Karia took a hesitant step forward. The figure didn't seem to move, so he took another step. And another. And another. And the figure continued to stay still as a statue, which greatly eased the fear in Karia's heart. He still kept the sword out, though, in case it made any sudden moves. He'd moved far enough that he had to glance over his shoulder to keep his eyes on the figure. Praying silently to the gods that he wouldn't trip on something, Karia took another step. The figure was almost out of his sight– and then it darted behind a tree and disappeared. "Uh… do you think it left, or is it getting a better angle?"

She felt as if her heart would jackhammer out of her chest as she walked with Karia, not daring to let go of his hand, squeezing it hard as she took a soft shaky breathe.
"I…. Don't know" she whispered. "we should get out of here fast if we don't want to die in the first hour we're on this trip." she looked at him with wary eyes. "how much longer is this path in the forest anyway?" she asked swallowing her fears. Well…. Trying but epically failing.

@MarDeColores this is not it kids

"Yeah, probably a good plan." Karia nodded, his breathing more shallow than normal. "Uh, most of this walk is in the forest, but I'm pretty sure there's a meadow up ahead. I'm not sure how far away it is, though. Hopefully not too far." He quickened his pace, glancing around wildly. There weren't any sure signs of the strange figure just yet, but he could see a shadow flitting between trees, coming closer and closer to them. Hopefully, it was another squirrel.

Nodding and biting her lip nervously, she didnt dare let go of his hand, nor look in the trees.
She hated the feeling of being watching, and she felt eyes on the back of her neck like crazy.
Yet she saw it out of the corner of her eyes. The shadow moving towards them.
If it attacked them, she was ready. Ready and nervous as hell that was for sure.
She mentally smacked herself across the face and told her to man up! She could handle this! She wasnt a little girl that needed taken care of! She was a strong independent woman who could slaughter anything that came in her path! So regaining her straight posture, she had confidence written on her face and determination.
She was going to get through this whatever it took. And this was just the start

"Okay, we might have to start running soon." Karia breathed, his eyes tracking the shadow from tree to tree. He couldn't focus on anything other than his heartbeat and the feeling of the sword in his hand. They rounded a corner and he looked up. Ahead of them– too far ahead for comfort– the trees opened up into a meadow of long grass, the path winding through it. "Hmm, yeah, that's too far away." Karia glanced over his shoulder again, his heart skipping a beat when he saw the shadow a little more than an arms-length away from him. His eyes met the figures' for a split second, his breath catching in his throat.
