“Of course. What were you doing out so late?” Jay was tired and didn’t feel like talking but he didn’t want to be rude. They reached his apartment and went inside.
On a Sunday ((one-on-one//romance//closed)
Alex winced when he put too much pressure on his ankle as he sat, “I was trying to clear my head. I couldn’t sleep and hoped a walk would tire me out and get my mind off of things…”
Jay yawned and slightly laughed, “That didn’t go too well for you, did it?” He looked at him, “Would you like something to drink?”
Alex shook his head, “I’m okay, thanks for the offer though.”
"Alright, I'll go get some medical supplies and fix your injury.". He left the room and came back with bandages and a splint.
"It's a sprained ankle, I just need ice and a strap." Alex said, crossing his arms.
“Alright, I have a strap too, I wasn’t sure what happened to your ankle so I got a bunch of stuff.” He sat the strap down, put the other supplies away, and grabbed a large ice pack. He sat down with his stuff at Alex’s feet and gently pulled his foot close to him, “This may hurt a bit…”
“I’ve had worse,” Alex relied with a shrug, “Just get it over with.”
Jay nodded and quickly did his job, then rested the ice pack on his ankle and sat next to him on the couch, "There you are!"
“Thanks,” Alex rubbed at the back of his neck, “Uh, you can go to bed if you want, you look like you need it.”
"Yeah…I had a long day at work…" He stood up, "Do you need anything before I go?"
Alex shook his head, “No, it’s fine. You go to bed.”
"Alright, good night…" Jay stretched and headed to his room where he put on his pajamas and fell asleep quickly in bed.
Alex was up for a little while longer thinking over everything before he fell asleep.
The next morning, Jay woke up and went downstairs to eat, at first he looked at Alex in surprise then lightly laughed after remembering. He also remembered the other events from yesterday and paled thinking about it.
Alex was still asleep when’s Jay came downstairs, having barely slept a wink last night.
Jay smiled at him and started to make some pancakes for breakfast. He quietly hummed while doing so and hoped Tenebras stayed quiet for for the day.
Alex sighed in his sleep, shifting softly as the smell of pancakes filled the apartment.
When the pancakes we're done, Jay dug around in the fridge and decided to make some bacon too.
Alex woke up then, groaning with dissatisfaction as he did so. His ankle still hurt and he winced when he tried to move it.
Jay heard Alex groan and grabbed some painkiller then went to him, "Hey…feeling any better?"
"Not really, no," Alex replied, taking the painkillers from him thankfully, "Thanks for all the help."
"No problem. You want something to eat? I made pancakes and bacon." Jay smiled and gestured to the kitchen.
“Uh, I’ll have a little, if that’s alright.” He rubbed at the back of his neck.
"Sounds good." Jay grabbed the food and came back, handing a plate to Alex and sitting on the opposite end of the couch, "God I really hope that Tenebras doesn't kill someone else today…" He muttered uncomfortably thinking of the intimidating figure.
Alex took the food gratefully and stiffed slightly at the mention of well, himself, “Who knows, they’re unpredictable.”
"True…" Jay stared at Alex for a minute then looked away, he took a bite of his food, trying not to think of the run in.
“Do you really think you’ll catch hi- them?” Alex asked, quickly correcting his near mistake.
Jays eyes lit up with determination, “I’m going to try. As hard as I can.”
Alex nodded a little, finishing up his food, “Well I wish you luck.”
