Harry stepped in, shutting the door behind him. "Anna, what the hell was that?" he demanded fiercely.

Anna sighed and shook her head. "I don't know what you're talking about. Would you like some wine?"

Seeing her on the verge of being drunk herself, Harry nodded, and the couple sat on her couch, drinking. "Just like old times, huh?" Harry murmured after a little while.

Anna smiled sadly and nodded in agreement. "Indeed…"

Daniel watches them then comes into Anna's view. He waves, then indicates that Harry can't see him and that she shouldn't react to his presence.

Anna inhaled sharply and reached for the wine glass again, but Harry put his hand out to stop her. He scooped her into his arms and kissed her gently.

The tipsy woman kissed him back, cupping his face with her hands and closing her eyes.

It only lasted for a few seconds before Anna broke away, shaking her head. "Um, Harry, I think you should go," she whispered.

"Anna…"

"Please."

Harry sighed and stood up. "Goodbye, Anna," he muttered before heading to the door and shutting it behind him.

Daniel looks a little murderous. He turns to Anna, his eyes still obscured from her view.

"Why'd you let him kiss you?" he murmurs.

Anna looked to the other side of the room. "I'd prefer not to talk about it," she replied vaguely.

Daniel sighs. "Suit yourself."

His expression goes back to normal, and he sits down on the couch, surprising himself. "Y'know, I can't usually touch physical objects like this."

"Why don't you like Harry?" Anna asked abruptly, looking over at him. "He's a decent person. Stupid at times, yes, but a decent person."

Daniel shrugs. "He obviously hurt you."

He places yet another full stop on the topic, not wanting to say anything more. And yet he suspects that Anna is, at this point, drunk enough not to notice.

Anna wrapped her arms around herself in a small hug. "I hurt myself," she muttered, closing her eyes and swaying slightly.

Daniel gets and forces Anna to sit, gently. "What do you mean, you hurt yourself?"

"I asked for the divorce," Anna admitted, keeping her eyes closed. "It's my fault we're this way now."

Daniel sighs, andd nods, not knowing how to comfort Anna. He lapses into silence, then gets up.

"Since I still haven't gotten an answer, I should go back to the office." he murmurs, his gaze lingering on Anna for a moment before he walk to the door.

Anna nodded. She hadn't made her decision yet, and it didn't appear to be a choice she should take lightly. If she'd still see him tomorrow at the office, it shouldn't be too much of a problem that she didn't make a decision yet.

"Yes, you… you probably should."

Daniel nods, then leaves. He closes the door, then sighs, leaning against it for a moment before going back to the office. He waits there for a few hours, watching for Anna.

In the morning, Anna returned to work. All of her coworkers stared at her as she walked through the halls to her office, and she felt enormously uncomfortable. She shut and locked her door once she was inside and let out a sigh of relief.

Daniel pops out of the ceiling. "Just wanted to let you know this office has a serious mould problem. I'm dealing with it right now."

Anna almost screamed, and she would've if it hadn't been for the fact that all attention in the hall would turn to her office. "Christ, don't scare me like that," she muttered, shaking her head and hanging up her light jacket. "What do you mean – a serious mold problem?"

Daniel chuckles. "Sorry."

He nods. "Yeah. Mould. In the vents. In the walls. I'm cleaning it all out, and I must say, this building is disgusting."

Anna wrinkled her nose. "It's not my building, it's the firm's," she replied, seating herself behind her desk and pulling her laptop out of her bag. "So it's not like I'm in charge of cleaning it."

Daniel shrugs. "Either way, it's disgusting."

He pops back into the ceiling to continue cleaning. By the end of the day, he's cleaned the entire building.

Anna worked through the entire day without hearing from Daniel again. She found it both comforting and uneasy. Knowing he was there just in case something like… yesterday… would ever happen again. But still, she made it through the day without any incidents and even put in overtime hours.

Daniel pops out of the walls every once in a while to check on Anna, making sure another situation like yesterday didn't happen. When she went into overtime, he popped out again.

"Watcha doing?" he says after a moment.

Anna jumps again – as she has every time Daniel pops out of the wall – and shakes her head. "Studying up on this case a bit more. I don't think this man is guilty, but I need more proof. How's the mold?" she asks, almost teasingly.
