(It was so awkward. I told my stepdad, and he told me to make it really awkward for the dude next time.)
"So, do you want to ride with me, or will you take your own vehicle?" Kasey asked as they stepped into the elevator.
(Going to a play. Might not be in until tomorrow.)
“I guess I’ll ride with you?” Barry leaned against one wall of the elevator, pressing (insert number).

Kasey nodded slowly. "How are you getting to class, though? I'm working, so I won't be able to drive you…"

“I can walk, my first class isn’t far from your work.” Barry realized he was still wearing his glasses, and moved to take them off.

(It was put on by a college, and the whole campus lost power.)
"Oh, great! I was worried you'd be stranded there," Kasey chuckled, moving to step out of the elevator when it opened on the ground floor.
(eek!)
Barry followed, chuckling. "Stranded with you? Wow, what a shame that would be."

(The tech guy or someone came out to tell us that they couldn't go on w/the show, and everyone was like, "Aw…" And he said, sounding a bit confused, "We have to?")
Kasey blushed a little and smiled. "Well, what would you do? You'd just be stuck at the cafe until three this afternoon."
(wait what did he mean? also what show was it?)
"I'd eat scones, for one. Study. Admire you. Flirt?" Barry glanced at her, offering her a lopsided smirk.

(They had to cancel the play, "1940s Radio Hour," because the power went out.)
"Why would you admire me?" Kasey laughed, her cheeks burning. "And I'm not sure if the other girls would appreciate you flirting with them."

"Let me correct my sentence. 'Practice my flirting on myself so I can use it when the time is right.' And why wouldn't I admire you?" He could see her flaming cheeks and was greatly enjoying it.

"You're going to flirt with yourself?" Kasey teased, avoiding the question.
"Practice flirting. Who else would I practice on?" He grinned, making sure he was walking right next to her.

Kasey shrugged as they walked to her car. "I mean, there are other people there…"
"Like you said, they may not appreciate me flirting with them." Barry climbed in shotgun, ruffling his hair a bit.

Kasey snorted as she sat in the driver's seat and stuck the key in the ignition.
"You're so confusing sometimes," she said with a playful eye roll.
"Me? How? Girls are way more confusing than guys are.", Barry joked, fishing around in his bag for a granola bar.

"Okay, that is true," Kasey said with a light laugh as she buckled herself in and started the car. "Honestly, we confuse ourselves and each other most of the time."
Barry laughed back. "True." Leaning forward in the seat, he indicated to the radio. "Music? Or do you have CDs?"

"I do have CDs, but you can turn the radio on if you want," Kasey said, backing out of her parking space and heading toward the cafe.
Barry flipped through the channels until he landed on a rock one, leaning back in his seat. A song came on, one that he'd never heard before. "Do yo know this one?"

Kasey shook her head and started tapping her fingers against the steering wheel. "No, I haven't. It must be new."
Barry peered at the title of the song. "Working on a Dream, Bruce Springsteen. Isn't he from the '80s?"

"Honestly, I have no idea," Kasey laughed. "I don't usually listen to this station."
“What do you usually listen to?” He turned to face her, his cheeks beginning to hurt from smiling.

"Older pop music," Kasey mumbled under her breath, her cheeks heating up in embarrassment.
“That’s cool! So like, Michael Jackson?” Barry grinned, noticing her blush.

"No… I'm not a fan of his," Kasey said, crinkling her nose. "Like, early 2000's and on."
"Oh, makes more sense. Um… One Direction counts as old pop, right?"

"It might… But I don't care for them, either," Kasey said with a chuckle. "I like Maroon 5 and Bruno Mars."
Barry nodded enthusiastically. "Bruno Mars is cool. Though I don't much like his newer stuff, Twenty One Karat Magic or whatever it's called. I've never listened to Maroon 5."
