"Hey babe, why are you sitting here alone, on your birthday!?" Summer's boyfriend had come up behind her and hugged her as he spoke.
"I don't know, I'm just bored waiting I guess…" Summer said as she crunched on another Taki. A few minutes went by, tired of doing nothing, she decided to make her rounds again. Looking around the living room, she made eye contact with a girl she forgot was invited. She slowly made her way to the girl, the Taki bag still in her hands.

As he and his body succumb to the pain, a feeling of cold water rushed over him, a feeling of relief calmed him as he took his last breath. He smiled at her, and touched her soft cheek, wet from tears.
She smiled at him one last time and kissed his forehead.
Her words were soft like a lullaby. Singing him to sleep, she wished she was able to get to the chorus but he was gone…
He fell asleep in her arms. Silently and happy, but at the same time full of despair.
He wanted to hold her in his arms.
He wanted to protect her.
He loved her.
