"My name is Keira, it's nice to meet you even if under such awkward circumstances." Keira replied nervously. It wasn't every day that someone stayed over at her place, even family visits were a luxury she didn't really want to be able to afford.
Her phone buzzed. Who is it now? she spat in her mind, and was half inclined to decline the call, but when she saw it was from her boss she answered quickly.
"I know for a fact you're running late, but for once you're in luck. I had a bit of… technical difficulty, so we won't be opening for another hour."
A bright smile lit up Keira's face, for once her boss gave her news that made her happy. "I see. Also, while I have you, I have a friend who will be accompanying me."
"Don't let that distract you from your job, you're one of my best waitresses."
"Flattery will get you nowhere, I'll see you soon."
The smile faded as she ended the call. I rushed for NOTHING?! It didn't matter, that gave the two of them time to settle Alec into her apartment. She watched him glance aimlessly around her setup, almost afraid to touch anything. "You don't need to look so worried."
That being said, she was probably more nervous than him. Everything had its own place, if Alec was to, say, accidentally leave a pencil on the table, that would be enough to cause her anxiety. But it was something she was prepared to deal with, he had nowhere else to go after all. Kiera made her way over to the round armchair by the window.
"I don't need to be at work for another 50 minutes, so feel free to have a shower or get changed or something. Do whatever you want to make yourself feel more comfortable."
