Evelyn watched the stars, oblivious of Aaliyah watching her. She only watched the sky. "Look," she said pointing upwards. "I found the brightest."

Evelyn turned her head to watch Aaliyah watch the stars. 'Wow,' she thought, smiling. Suddenly, it was like a switch went off in her head. She sat up suddenly. "Come on," Evelyn said, getting up.

"On an adventure," Evelyn said, her eyes lit up in excitment. "C'mon, it'll be fun."

Evelyn grinned at her and pulled her along, out of the park, and down the sidewalk. They walked down back streets of the city with only the streetlights to light their way. "This really won't be as bad as you think it will be," Evelyn said to Aaliyah.

Evelyn stopped suddenly. "Ta-da!" She gestured her arms grandly. They were standing in front of a small, locally owned ice cream shop. The sign was in cursive letters. You could see a few people inside the glass windows, and it looked warm in there. "Not only do they have great ice cream, but they also have delicious hot cocoa, since it's getting a bit chilly," Evelyn said, opening the door for Aaliyah. "Is this alright?"

"Brilliant," Evelyn breathed, watching Aaliyah. She smiled at her enjoying the warmth and got in line. "So what are we feeling? Is it an ice cream night? A warm drink night? Maybe a bit of both?"

"Mm no. Sorry love, but I'm paying," Evelyn retorted. "Now am I in the mood for mint chip tonight?" she wondered out loud, watching the menu.

"That's always a good choice," she said. "Now the real question is, do they have decent tea here?"

Evelyn looked over the ice cream and decided on mint chip. She noticed Aaliyah watching her, looked over at her, and winked. "I do enjoy a classic early grey but it's much too late for that, unfortunately," Evelyn said.

"It's definitely not," Evelyn said with a smiled, putting her arm around Aaliyah's shoulders. They made it to the counter. "Can I have one small mint chip and two hot cocoas?" Evelyn looked at Aaliyah for confirmation.

"Yup," Evelyn smiled at the person.
"Alright, you can pay over there," they said.
Evelyn took her arm off of Aaliyah's shoulders and quickly walked over to the cash register. The cashier gave her the total and Evelyn quickly paid her, not wanting to take the chance of Aaliyah paying.

"Yup," Evelyn said. "I asked you here, I'm paying. That's how it works love."

Evelyn stared straight ahead and smiled, afraid she would full on kiss Aaliyah if she looked in her face. Their ice cream and hot cocoa were ready and Evelyn grabbed Aaliyah's ice cream and hot cocoa and handed it to her, then grabbed her own. She started towards the door.

Evelyn turned out of Aaliyah's grasp and looked at her for a moment. She smiled a small smile, whispered "Come on," and started down the sidewalk at a fast pace.

Evelyn looked to her left and found an alley. She pulled Aaliyah into it and backed up to the wall, so Aaliyah was facing her. "Can I kiss you?" she asked, her face pink and her eyes glowing.
