It’s Alive!!

So basically I just got gifted for my birthday a copy of Jekyll and Hyde, a full history of Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein in pop culture, AND I’ve been listening to Jessica Law on repeat on top of that and I feel like writing something realllllllly self indulgent and dumb.

Ma’am you’ve came to the right place, let’s make haste I’ll use electricity; to set her nerves and muscles quaking thus making her whole!

Victor Frankenstein is not a doctor (or at least, no longer licensed) but that won’t stop him on operating the dead to life!

Sir; if I am not mistaken, you’ve taken her body to awaken; I intend to set in motion, with potion, her soul!

Dr. Henry Jekyll likes to keep up appearances, more than most men, but in the form of Edward Hyde (his gremlinsona) (canon and real) he can take on the world!

Despite their differences, with Jekyll being more of a repressed madman desiring guts and hedonism and Frankenstein desiring the appraisals of scientists everywhere, but they manage to make a great team and also are gay lovers because of course, have you met me????

Anyways the basic plot is stupid gay mad scientist shenanigans in the modern day, paired with some vampire drama because I hate hate hate vampires omg whyyyyy are they so ugly but I like to dunk on them lol anyways….. let us begin!

So what’s your general knowledge base on these characters, and who would you feel more comfy playing? I’d kinda hoped for Frankenstein, and maybe you could be Jekyll?

Ok cool! That works then! My main idea for Jekyll was that he would be this unhinged maniac disguised as a classy member of upper society and that Frankenstein would be this disgraced scientist basically couch mooching on Jekyll’s property plus gay scientist sex idk something something I’m stupid and gay

Victor Frankenstein, the disgraced doctor-scientist and re-animator extraordinaire, apparently was staying in the laboratory of the famous and respected Doctor Henry Jekyll, who had oh so graciously taken him in when he was practically living off the streets drowning in alcohol and his own sadness. Victor was certainly grateful for the opportunity to have a new laboratory, but disliked how pretentious that Jekyll was and how he talked and his stupid, handsome face and how “science is supposed to be used for good, not evil” even though Victor knew his dearest Henry had a secret evil extra personality by the name of Edward Hyde. Ultimately it was all a sham, the “goodness and light” persona, but Jekyll was nothing if not dishonest with everyone and everything including himself at every turn.

Currently, Victor was working in Jekyll’s laboratory resurrecting a child. He’d taken pity on the poor woman who brought her emaciated and ghastly child to him begging for her daughter back and willing to pay her life away for the child to be brought back. Victor denied all payment, he did this because he loved it. But he did ask that she not question his methods, which included a lot of electricity and some old alchemic procedures once thought lost to history. Victor knew if he wanted to, he could create a whole Philosopher’s Stone as Flamel and the like foretold. He was a genius, dammit!

But he needed Jekyll’s help on this case. For all his trying, he couldn’t get the kid to stay alive for even half a minute. He was simply unable to bring back the brain, the soul, which was something Henry was uniquely prepared to do. With the Hyde Formula, Victor theorized they could resurrect not just the body, but again the mind and soul instead of having to create a whole new concept of a person, a whole new consciousness. Lord knew how that went last time.

“Henry, get your sorry ass down here, I need your ridiculous potion.” he shouted up, he knew Jekyll was in his parlor entertaining guests which was conveniently just down the hall from the laboratory in Henry’s giant penthouse apartment.

Victor scowled. How dare his host treat him like he wasn’t worth attending to? “I need your Hyde formula.” Jekyll kept the Hyde formula a secret from everyone, even Victor. It was purely an accident that Victor had even found out. But Victor had met Hyde, they ended up having some heated and unsatisfactory sex, and the two never spoke of it again.

“I think you’d give it to me so I can reunite an innocent child with her pitiful mother.” he deadpanned, although in a way that was exactly what he was doing. “Do you want me to fight you for it? I’ll fight you for it!” Victor was wraithly and sickly as it was, plus he’d been drinking that day, so he couldn’t take Jekyll in a fight if he tried. But it was worth threatening, at least to Victor, if only because the scientist was drunk and a little angry and annoyed.

Victor didn’t take that well. “Maybe if you’d stop being an egotistical prick, I’d consider not telling the general public about your little… secret.” Victor said, obviously referring to Hyde. Hyde was something of a wild card, but they both knew Jekyll would lose everything should his secret be revealed.

Victor looked Jekyll in the eyes, the vibrant blue color staring a bit too deeply into one’s soul.

“You don’t know that. Anyways, you’re a goody-two-shoes as well as overwhelmingly sanctimonious. Shouldn’t you be in favor of my good charity?”
