@Fraust

Sure ^^ that makes it easier lol

@Moriarty

Okay, great. ^^ So… who should start? Also, let me just say– I too am enjoying the quarantine :3

@Fraust

You can start if you want ^^
(also, I glanced over yours and grace's version of this a second ago, and needless to say I'm rather amused lol)

@Moriarty

Yes I noticed that as well. I had to do a double take like "wait, wut"

But I shall start ASAP if you would like. :3

@Fraust

Alrighty, looking forward to it ^^

@Moriarty

((Sorry for the generally crappiness and wonkiness of this; starting is always rocky XD))

  Reid

Nimbus was always causing trouble for Phoenix and Surge, which was why Reid was relatively unsurprised that he and Ellie were facing off with him once again. After all, they'd dealt with him more times than Reid bothered to count. And they always beat him. Reid almost felt bad for the guy. Almost. Even if he was younger than villains generally tended to be, he was still a villain, technically– and he kept coming back. At this point, he was practically asking to get his butt kicked.
But tonight, when they received a call from the police reporting the villains activities (which were no doubt simply to lure the heroes to them), there were apparently two villains present– and Reid could never recall Nimbus working with anyone before…
But when they arrived at the scene– the evacuated town square– there were indeed two figures present.

  Donovan

"I have no one to thank for this arrangement but you," Donovan commented stoically to Liam during their wait for the hero's arrival. You know, after they had finished destroying some cars and running a few civilians off in order to capture the attention of the authorities. Police never bothered dealing with villains nowadays, so it was a given that the heroes would be called. And Donovan seemed as relaxed about the whole situation as one could be, especially considering the fact that there was a vehicle behind him enveloped in flames.
Nimbus had quite some experience with Phoenix and Surge, which was the main reason why Omen had chosen to team up with him. Of course, Liam had spirit– and that was always a necessity if one expected success. And if Donovan were to be an accomplice, he was going to be the accomplice of someone who could help him achieve his goals, too. Liam wanted to defeat Phoenix, whilst Donovan wanted– something like that. Though his goal was a bit different, truth be told. "And I'm sure it won't be long before we have both achieved our desired results."
It was about then that the heroes arrived, and Donovan smirked lightly. "Ah. It seems our guests have arrived right on time."

@Fraust

(Nah it's great ^^ mine will probably be worse lol)
"Come on, Reid! The kid's terrorizing children again!" Elisia sighed, running into the scene. Nimbus was indeed terrorizing some young children amongst another group of people by forming a thick storm around them. Their screams of terror were occasionally audible between raucous claps of thunder. The boy grinned when Phoenix and Surge approached, though it was hidden beneath his mask, and turned towards them. He raised himself into the air on a bed of angry looking thunderclouds to get out of their reach and chuckled.
Elisia formed a ball of fire in her dominant hand and sent it Nimbus' way, cutting a hole through the clouds and grabbing the boy's attention. "My god! Reid, I think he's teamed up with Omen! How on earth could he get that guy to agree to an alliance?!"
A flash of lightning narrowly missed Elisia. "Kid's aim got better too…" She grumbled bitterly, light and fire starting to gather around her in an ominous vortex of energy. One benefit of fighting a younger villain was that Nimbus had not quite mastered his powers the way Elisia had. He could prove to be a formidable opponent in the future, perhaps, but he was too inexperienced at the moment.

@Moriarty
  Reid

"Teamed up?" Reid echoed skeptically, though he could see what she was talking about. Though he wasn't yet doing anything of interest, he spotted the other villain. "Since when did that become a thing?" His eyes widened slightly as bolt of lightning nearly hit him, and he threw up his harm to shield himself from it. The wires within it lit up with a bright blue glow, absorbing some of the electrical energy from the bolt– but there was a little more force in that blast than he'd expected, and it sent him flying backwards anyways. He was relatively unharmed, if not aggravated. His brow furrowed, and he scrambled back to his feet.

  Donovan

Donovan regarded the scene with interest, inactive for the first several seconds of the ordeal, as if he were simply observing from a distance. He opened up a portal– a perfectly circular thing that could be looked through, like a doorway to another location, with a ring of luminescent purple along the edge of it– and stepped through it, emerging through an identical one that had appeared simultaneously to the first, a good twenty feet behind the two heroes. "Evening, friends," he greeted– far too calmly for the situation.

If anything, a look of visible annoyance crossed Reid's face– probably because this villain had the audacity to refer to them as friends and take the situation so lightly. Though, he did notice that the man's hand rested on the hilt of a dagger– which looked more to be more of the technological sort rather than the traditional, though Reid had no clue as to what was technological about it.

@Fraust

Elisia wheeled around to face Omen, glaring fiercely at him. "Bold of you to assume any form of camaraderie between us, Omen. What's up with this, by the way?!" She gestured to Nimbus, who was still snickering atop his storm cloud while he terrorized a few more citizens. "Teaming up with the kid? How on earth did he possibly manage to convince you to join him?!"
"I'll have you know, he asked me!" Liam yelled down from his clouds, seeming thoroughly annoyed.
"This just gets stranger and stranger…" Elisia sighed, keeping a light veil of protective fire around herself just in case either villain tried to sneak attack her.

@Moriarty

Donovan smiled faintly, his eyes hardly visible behind the shadow of his hood. "So I made a new friend. Is that so bad?"

"It is when you're both psychopaths trying to kill everybody," Reid spat in response, pulling a small device that very much resembled a gun from his belt and aiming it at Omen. It was set to stun, as Reid didn't have any intentions on killing the man unless it were absolutely necessary. But, as instantly as he could squeeze the trigger, a self-made portal pulled Omen inside, rescuing him from the shot.

"I'm no psychopath," Donovan responded from behind Surge, kicking the younger boy's feet out from beneath him. "And if I wanted you dead, you'd already be." His gaze flickered to Elisia. "I didn't come here to kill anyone."

@Fraust

"Surge!" Elisia glared at Donovan, seeming thoroughly pissed off. She gathered fire in one hand and stepped back a bit, keeping her eyes firmly on Donovan.
Taking this as his chance, Nimbus threw down some more lightning. One of the bolts struck Phoenix's back and threw her to the ground, stunning her. He grinned with glee as he looked down at his handiwork, his normally neat hair growing more disheveled from the electricity. Elisia seemed to be temporarily paralyzed by the electricity, though her body was still red hot to the touch.

@Moriarty

Reid grunted as he hit the ground. He scrambled back to his feet when Elisia was struck, and he rushed to her side, disregarding the villain who had knocked him down. His first response was a desperate attempt to check her pulse which was nigh impossible considering the fact that she was still too hot for him to touch her. Or, at least, it would've been impossible, had not one of his arms been entirely fake to begin with. She couldn't burn that one. He grabbed her wrist, his cybernetic fingers feeling for a pulse– and a breath of relief that he didn't even know he'd been holding escaped him when he found one.
"Careful!" Donovan snapped at Nimbus, his brow furrowing slightly. "We discussed this." Donovan rubbed his temple, wondering if the younger boy had even listened to any of his monologue earlier. Liam was allowed to kill the boy. Omen couldn't care less about the fate of Surge. He was practically worthless, as far as Donovan was concerned. An extra. An expendable. Someone that was simply in the way. But Nimbus was not supposed to cause any permanent damage or risk Phoenix.
Donovan crossed over to Phoenix and Surge– and the latter of the two glared up at the taller man before jumping to his feet and swinging a metallic fist in Omen's direction. Omen deflected it, clenching his own and slamming it into Surge's jaw– which sent the boy stumbling backwards. Donovan drew closer to Phoenix, but Surge recollected himself, his arm lighting up with blue energy– from which he shot a volt of electricity directly at Omen.
Donovan let out a tiny "Hmph" and promptly vanished into a self-made portal. Where he emerged was not immediately visible.

@Fraust

Liam rolled his eyes. "I'm not gonna kill her! I'm just making it easier for you to do… whatever it is you're wanting to do with her. I'm not sure I want to know." He sent a bolt of lightning Surge's way, hoping to mess with the bionic arm.
Elisia was struggling to get up at this point, knowing she needed to help, but her weakened body was making the task far more difficult. Tiny flames licked the ground around her as she shakily arose and turned to where all the chaos was happening.

@Moriarty

"Agh!" Reid let out an aggravated cry as Liam's lightning bolt hit him straight on. Volts of electricity shot through him– and, if he hadn't had so many technological implants that made him partially immune to electrical strikes, he would've been at a higher risk of going into cardiac arrest. It was still possible, even as things were– but incredibly unlikely. Instead, he ended up a little more burnt than he would've liked and a bit stunned.

Donovan mustn't have gone far, because he reappeared closer to Phoenix and cast an unreadable glance at Liam before turning his attention to the heroine.
"Easy now, dearest. You're injured," he purred as he approached her, now only steps away. "No need to strain yourself further."

@Fraust

"Don't touch me." Elisia stepped back a bit, stumbling in the process. "Don't you dare come near me. I'm still completely capable." She formed a ball of fire in each hand, though the fire faltered and flickered more than it usually would. Liam was still thoroughly enjoying himself atop his thundercloud, sending more lightning Surge's way.

@Moriarty

"I know you are," Donovan responded, though he had yet to stop advancing towards her. "As fiery as ever, even when you're injured. I've always admired that about you, you know. But I think you ought to relax just a bit. You know I'm not going to hurt you." His gaze dropped to the flickering fireballs in her hands, a smirk forming on his lips.

Reid was not having a good time. He wasn't really sure what was going on– it was hard to stay on top of things when repetitive bolts of lightning were firing in ones direction– but at least he was conscious. He tried to fire a few electrical strikes back from his bionic arm, but then he felt dumb for even trying that, assuming that Liam probably had electrical immunity. So he targeted Donovan instead– but that was pretty pointless too when a lightning strike nearly blasted him back and he had to maneuver desperately to avoid it.

@Fraust

"I don't care whether you plan to hurt me or not. You're disgusting and I don't trust you as far as I could throw you." Elisia kept glaring at Donovan, trying desperately to get her fire to be stronger. There was only so much she could to at this point
"Dance for me, Surge!" Liam grinned sadistically while he continued raining down lightning and thunder. "My little puppet~… I could kill you, you know. Would you like that, Surge?" He crooned in a sickeningly sweet tone. "Although, I do quite like watching you try to avoid the lightning. You're very entertaining."

@Moriarty

(Rubs hands together diabolically A'ight so how exactly do we want this to go down?)

@Fraust

(You can feel free to capture her if you want ^^)

@Moriarty

((I haven't abandoned this; it's almost 3 o' clock AM here and I've been so busy, so I have unintentionally been neglecting it a little, but I'll get around to it ASAP! I'm a tad bit on hiatus, so I'm not sure how soon ASAP is, but… I'm not abandoning it! <3))

@Fraust

(Alright, np)

@Moriarty

Donovan frowned slightly, feigning hurt. "Disgusting? I'm not disgusting. At least, I don't think I'm disgusting. His expression softened into faint smile. "And I'm sure you probably don't truly think that, either." There was no fear of her in his eyes.

Meanwhile, Reid struggled with his own problems– namely, Liam. Reid dove out of the way of another one of Liam's blasts, the glared up at his enemy. He would've tried to fire some electrical blasts back at him with his bionic arm, but… that would be pretty pointless. And stupid on his part, considering that Liam had electricity manipulation. The purpose would be defeated and he'd end up looking dumb. But he was fairly convinced he couldn't feel much dumber than he did now, trying to avoid getting fried to a crisp whilst Liam taunted him. "Oh, please–" Reid snapped, his face flushed with irritation. "We'd have beat you already if it wasn't for–" He glanced over at Omen and Phoenix right about that time, just in time to see the man disappear into a portal. Only a split second passed before another opened directly beside Elisia, and Donovan grabbed her by the wrist and yanked her inside.
As far as Reid could tell, they were both gone.
He uttered a word that his parents would not have approved of had they been present and ran over to where Elisia had been, seemingly unconcerned now with Liam or his lightning bolts. There was no trace of her, or of Omen, or anything. "Where'd they go?!" He demanded, glowering at Liam.

"Attempting to kill me would be a pointless endeavor, so please don't bother," Donovan said calmly as he yanked her into his portal– which was like stepping through a doorway to another dimension. Except it wasn't another dimension; it was a room, likely in his lair for lack of a better, less cliche term. Except it wasn't a dark, musty room like one would expect of a stereotypical villain-lair, but cleaner. More airy.

@Fraust

Elisia yelped when she was dragged into the portal and got into a defensive position upon landing. "Where the hell have you taken me?" She asked, her tone demanding and assertive. "Let me go!" She formed a couple more fireballs to protect herself.

Liam scoffed when Reid attempted to demand information from him. "You think I know? Omen doesn't tell me anything. We're temporarily partners, not best friends." He rained down some more lightning, still seeming rather pleased. "I wouldn't count on seeing her again if I were you."

@Moriarty

"As you wish," Donovan purred, releasing her and stepped back to avoid getting scorched by her flames. A grin tugged at the corner of his mouth, and he motioned to the room around them. "Welcome to my humble abode." Humble wasn't the right word for it. It was extravagant. But… it didn't look like a lair. It looked like a massive dining room, one that was currently empty of any people. The odd thing about it was that there were absolutely no windows. No clear ways of escape. Only the elegant table and furniture that surrounded it, and an expensive chandelier than dangled overhead.
"Before you get the idea to try to kill me, please be aware that you'll never set foot out of this place again without my help. Besides, I don't want to kill you, so the least you could do is return the favor." He didn't look worried. He looked relaxed, straightening his coat collar calmly. "I just want to give you the tour." His smirk widened. "And show you the room I have prepared, specially for you."

"Oh, you bet I will!" Reid snapped in return, his face flushed with anger. As far as he was concerned, no psychopath like Donovan or no bratty villain like Liam were going to keep him from finding Elisia. Not if he had anything to say about it. Well, he wasn't sure if he did have anything to say about it… But he was going to say something, anyways. Figuratively, of course.
Right now he was too busy trying not to get electrocuted. He needed to find a more efficient way to fight Liam off, and then he could go after Elisia.

@Fraust

Elisia glared daggers at Donovan, but reluctantly extinguished the fireballs for now. "Why do you want me here? Are you going to torture me or something? What do you want from me, Omen?" She glanced around the room warily. Nice place… but I don't plan on sticking around if I can help it. I need to get back out there to defend the city and help Reid.

"Your loss, Surge." Liam lazily sent a few more lightning bolts Reid's way. He was quickly draining his power and was growing exhausted, but he couldn't let Reid know that. "It hurts more to lose someone if you hold out hope of seeing them again, you know."

@Moriarty

"Torture you?" Donovan echoed with a light scoff, as if the very assumption was downright ridiculous. "Lord, no, darling. Not even close. I'd never do such a thing to a specimen as valuable as yourself." He eyed her a moment. "That would be like going through the trouble to steal and a diamond just to throw it down a well. That would be– well, downright stupid. I'm a lot of things, but wasteful is not one of them. And tasteless isn't, either." He stepped a bit closer to her again once the flames were out, though he had no weapons drawn. "I think you've mislabeled me, my girl."

Reid sent a zap or two back in Liam's direction, though he presumed it to be pointless. He was growing annoyed with this little back-and-forth game, and he was ready to end it. Heroes weren't generally supposed to kill people unless left with no other option, but Reid was growing desperate– which was why he pulled the gun off of his belt and sent a few bullets towards Liam's irritating cloud. "She's only been gone two minutes," he retorted, though it might not've even been that long yet. "Besides– I wouldn't be much of a hero if I gave up that easily."

@Fraust

"A 'specimen'." The word dripped with disgust. She loathed it. "I am not a 'specimen', Omen, nor do I belong to you. I belong to no one, but especially not you. This is absolutely preposterous. Release me this instant." She crossed her arms, huffing indignantly as she glared up at Donovan.

Liam absorbed the electrical energy with a bored hum. One of the bullets nicked his shoulder and he bit down hard on his lip to keep quiet. "You know how Omen works, and so do I. He's not going to give her up. The man is insane."

@Moriarty

"Oh, but I mean it in the most respectful of ways." Donovan crept a little closer, his eyes locked on her. "Though, I'm afraid I can't allow you to leave. You're far too valuable for that." A small smile twisted the corner of his lips. "You asked me what I wanted from you? Well, that was the wrong question. You see, I don't want anything from you, dearest. I simply want you." He pulled a little bracelet-looking device off of his belt in an instant and clipped it around her wrist, though it's immediate purpose was unclear.

"Yeah, he's a flippin' psycho. So why the crap would you work with him?!" Reid growled and fired a few more rounds at Liam before muttering, "We'll see how he works when I have a gun against the back of his head." Reid didn't care if Omen intended to give Elisia up or not. Reid was getting her back one way or another.

@Fraust

Elisia immediately started tugging at the bracelet when it was put on, but to no avail. It was stuck. "What the hell are you doing to me?? Why do you want me?" She asked, now furious. "What do you even want me for?!"

"I'm working with him because he offered. Presumably because I'm closer to Phoenix than he is. I can provide information, and he can provide power. Whatever sick plans he's got, I don't have to worry about. It's none of my concern." Liam moved his thundercloud out of harm's way.

@Moriarty

"For myself, of course," Donovan said calmly, as if it this were obvious. "That's just a gift." He gestured to the bracelet. "And a little safety precaution, in case you get a little too rambunctious and try to fry me to a crisp. It'll give you a little zap if you get out of hand, but nothing too serious. Like I said, I don't want to hurt you. So as long as you're good– I won't." He clasped his hands together. "Now, are you ready for the grand tour?"

Reid growled through gritted teeth. "It'll be your concern when I get my hands on you!" He sucked in a deep breath to try to calm himself down. "Okay, you know what? Forget it. I don't have time for this. I have more important things to deal with." Namely, rescuing Elisia. Forget Liam; he needed to save his friend. The girl he loved.
