"Im questioning everything about this whole color thing," Winifred expressed "I mean seriously, there's only one person who can make us see color in the entire world?…It just seems highly unlikely that some people will find their soulmate" she explained.
"I wonder how many people went their entire life without color, because of inability to find their soulmate" she wondered aloud.

Paisley felt her face heat up at the mention of soulmates and colors again. She'd seen color when she touched Winifred, she was positive about it. But she wasn't sure if she should tell her or not. For now, she decided against it.
"Well, I suppose I believe that fate has its own ways of bringing people together," she said softly. "I've moved more places than I can count on one hand. My soulmate could've lived in any number of those places, and as much as I want to see color, I'm here now, and if I left my soulmate behind, then I guess that's how it was meant to be."
Winifred smiled and stood up, twirling slightly.
"I guess you're right" she mumbled lightly, with a smile.

"I usually am," Paisley teased with a grin as she too rose to her feet. "Well, it's shaping up to be a dull day, isn't it? Is there anything else you can show me I might need to know?"
Winifred paused and tapped her index finger against her bottom lip, thinking over every basic procedure she could think of to tell Paisley.
She clapped her hands together and grinned wildly.
"When you clean the bathrooms," she leaned in, whispering "make sure you wear gloves"

Paisley met Winifred's grin until they mentioned bathrooms. She wrinkled her nose and frowned. "Eww," she mumbled, but then her eyes quickly widened. "Uh, sorry, I didn't mean that. Well, bathrooms are gross, but I guess you need someone to clean them. Not that I want to. But I will if you need me to! I mean, ohhh…"
She blushed quickly after her rambling and shook her head. "Uh, sorry," she repeated. "I didn't mean to just… sorry."
Winifred grinned and laughed lightly.
"you don't have to clean it right now," She said "just when you do, or if anyone ever makes you, just make sure you wear gloves."

Paisley sighed with relief. "Oh, okay!" She smiled sweetly back at Winifred and leaned against the counter. She glanced at the door briefly, then back at Winifred. "Anything else? Preferably anything that's not related to the bathrooms."

"Yeah," Winifred said smiling. "Just make sure you're always overly sweet to customers, because—" she put air quotes around her next words. "The customer is always right." And then she rolled her eyes playfully and laughed.

Paisley grinned and laughed along with her new coworker. "Of course," she teased, inclining her head toward Winifred and looking up at her through her lashes. "And I'm sure that's never a problem for anyone who works here. Are there any particular patrons I should watch out for?"
"Bill," Winifred said seriously but smiling. "He's a menace, always tries to order for his whole family, and he never gets the order right, so he comes back and complains that we messed up the order, but in reality, he told us the wrong order."

Paisley arched her eyebrows with interest. "A menace?" she asked with a laugh in her tone. "Interesting… I can't stand people who do things like that. I'll definitely watch out for him."
"As you should." Winifred said and then laughed lightly. "Hey, can I have your phone number?" She asked, and a spurt of color flooded her vision and then flickered out, leaving the world in black, white and gray.
She then pulled out her phone and looked at Paisley expectantly.

"Oh yeah, sure!" the girl chirped. "The area code is 854- oh, wait, not that one. 252- wait, not that one either. 667- oh, shit." She blushed furiously. "Sorry… I've moved a lot of places and had a lot of numbers. Right now I have a 212 area code… probably going to be getting a new one soon, though, since I live here now…"
Paisley stammered through her words, looking very embarrassed before finally giving Winifred her current phone number.
Winifred entered it into her contacts, with the name: Paisley <3
She then stuck her phone back into the back pocket of her jeans and walked around the back of the sotre, wiping down already clean surfaces.

Paisley sighed quietly with relief that Winifred didn't think much about all her numbers from moving around. She followed the girl into the back, and as she did, she caught a glimpse of something out of the corner of her eye. She turned her head and nearly ran into a counter as the blueberries in the container glowed a beautiful, soft color before fading back to gray.
"And, uh, can you text me, then? So I have your number," she asked, trying to shake off the beautiful sight of color for the second time that day. That's got to mean something! But… what if she didn't see anything?
Winifred smiled and nodded.
She whipped her phone out of her back pocket and texted Paisley quickly.

Winifred read the text and smiled at her phone screen.
As she re-read the last word, her world flooded with color and she stumbled a bit, grabbing onto the counter top. She quickly re-righted herself and smiled at Paisley.
"Sorry," she said quickly. "Got a bit dizzy."

Paisley blinked in confusion, but she smiled back when Winifred did. “Oh, are you okay?” she asked worriedly, putting her phone back in her pocket and heading over to where Winifred stood. “Do you get dizzy spells often?”
Winifred shook her head slowly.
"Not usually," she lied. "But I've gotten a couple today, since I started my shift."

Paisley frowned. “Maybe you should go to an Urgent Care. Have you eaten enough? Are you thirsty? Do you need to sit down?”
Winifred waved a hand at her.
"I'm fine." She insisted, taking a drink from her water bottle. "Just need water is all."
