"Oh," they mumbled. So it was a person. They looked back to their circle, a bit desperately. Wouldn't something happen? Please? No, nothing. They might as well deal with the intruder. They drew a switchblade from their cloak, from one of the pockets inside the sleeve. "I know you're there. Come on out, and I won't have to hurt you."
"I dare you. I'd thank you if you stabbed me." He slunk into their line of vision, arms crossed, one eyebrow raised. "I'm not going to tell you it's past curfew, and instead ask what the hell you're doing."
"Summoning the Fae. Or Witches. I think I might be a Witch, but it's too early to tell. Anyways, I need advice." they shrugged, flipping through the pages of the book inquisitively. They didn't say any more, but the heat of the circle was slowly growing, and they were a bit too close for comfort, so they stepped back.
