@Yamatsu

Name: Thaddeus "Right-Ear" Johnson
Age: 58
Gender: Male
Open to shipping?: Tee hee! A boat pun! Sure, he'll keep it straight.
Position on Ship: Gunner
Appearance: Ruddy, tanned face. Missing his left eyebrow. Seemingly lanky, belies strength and stamina needed to man the cannons for hours on end. Blue eyes with a constant, unsettling gleam.
Typical Outfit: Anything that isn't loose but can be taken off easily in case of an accident. Cloth wrapping protects what little hair he has left on his head.
Weaponry: Carries a pistol made by a tinkerer friend, capable of firing six shots before needing to be reloaded. Has a "secret weapon" called the Hydra, seven musket barrels arranged in a hexagon with one in the center. Fires seven shots at a time, modified to breach-load and use "modern" bullets instead of musket balls.
Personality:

–Loves blowing shit up, has caused severe hearing damage in his left ear because of it.
–Knows anything and everything related to firearms, armaments, and weapons of ship destruction.
–Claims to have killed a naval ship's entire crew after he loaded the cannons with cutlery when they finally ran out of ammunition.
–Despite his advanced age, he's managed to earn the trust of every captain he's worked for and used those connections to keep the Navy off of his tail.
–Claims the secret to a long life is a spoonful of gunpowder in the morning.
Likes: Explosions, fire, friends to drink with.
Dislikes: Rainy days, unsealed magazines, salt, people who speak into his bad ear on purpose.
Fears: That he'll die a peaceful death instead of being blown to bits.
Why he's on the ship: He's old, needs something to do, and saw the advertisement.
Other: Will always turn his head to the left so that he can hear out of his good ear.

Name: Lydia Hallewell
Age: 22
Gender: Female
Open to shipping? (If yes, include who they're attracted to): Yes, just about everyone
Position on ship: The Navigator
Appearance: Tanned skin, gold-brown eyes, dark eyebrows. She has two scars on her face, one goes diagonally down the left side of her lip, the other goes diagonally through the arch of her right eyebrow and to her cheekbone, narrowly missing her eye. Her hair is dark and short. The left side has been shaved off but it has started to grow in a bit, so it’s fuzzy. The right side goes down to her chin and has lots of small braids throughout it. She’s 5’7 and very fit. She has a tattoo in her left side that starts at the base of her neck and goes down to her forearm. The top is swirling lines. These lines go down and surround a skull head on her bicep. The rest of the tattoo are short thick lines that cross and surround each other as they go down her arm. She has a signet ring on one hand and two thin gold rings on the other. She has about three piercings in each ear.
Typical outfit: Either long sleeve or sleeveless white shirt with a drawstring around the neckline. She wears a thin black corset over her shirt with straps that go over her shoulders. Black breeches that are a little flowy with a tapered ankle. Black boots. Sometimes wears a long blackish-greyish coat that has patterns of small triangles along the openings. It doesn’t have and buttons so she uses a brown belt to hold it together.
Weaponry: A pistol that she keeps at her hip and a dagger that she keeps on her outer thigh. She has a sword but she doesn’t keep it on her unless something big is happening
Personality (+ is a positive trait, - is a negative one)
-Easily annoyed
-Cocky
-Argumentative
+Adaptable, resourceful
+Focused
+Genuine
Likes: The wind, heights, rum, mangoes
Dislikes: Greed, most men, any boiled meat
Fears: Drowning
Why are they on the ship (just some basic backstory about how they got here): The old captain she had been with was … pretty bad. When she escaped him and found a small port town she joined the first decent crew she could find.
Other: Usually has either a toothpick in her mouth or she’s smoking a hand rolled cigarette

They all look amazing!! (Sorry I haven't been on, I had a debate tournament and it ran pretty late)
Anyways, here's our captain

Name: Damian 'crow eyes.' de Mosquera
Age: 27
Gender: Male
Open to shipping? (If yes, include who they're attracted to): Yes, mostly men, sometimes women.
Position on ship: Captain
Appearance: Tall and tanned with olive skin and dead black eyes. His hair is wavy and dark, kept short for convenience, and his chin is covered in a perpetual five o'clock shadow. There are quite a few scars on his body, living at sea is pretty dangerous, but the most notable are the pale one slashing across his throat, the litany of scars on his fingers, and the thick mass of mangled skin from the top of his right hip to the bottom of his ribs. He has a single tattoo, 7 'stitches' that reach two-thirds of the way across the scar on his throat.
Typical outfit: While on the ship, Damian tends to be minimalistic. A plain white shirt with the drawstring undone, rolled up to the elbow and tucked into loose black trousers that cinch around the calf. No shoes or hat. When going onto land or meeting new people (be it crew members or captives) he tends to dress up a little more in a large black jacket with silver embroidery on the hems, a worn tricornered hat, boots, and a large belt. He constantly wears a single gold earring.
Weaponry: A sword on his waist and a pistol on his hip. He usually has a musket slung across his back too, secured by a strap across his chest.
Personality (+ is a positive trait, - is a negative one)

  • Somewhat closed off
  • Easily angered
  • Vengeful
  • Resilient
  • Practically fearless
  • Fiercely loyal

Likes: The sea, sailing, stars, occasionally cutting loose, getting his revenge, singing
Dislikes: Mariners, traitors, his former crew, having to open up to people, rats, storms
Fears: Fire, hurricanes, death
Why are they on the ship (just some basic backstory about how they got here): Used to be a navy officer but got betrayed by his crew and left for dead. He took some time to heal, hopped aboard the first pirate ship he could find, and sailed the seas terrorizing people ever since.
Other: An excellent marksman, squeamish about strange things

So a couple questions before we start

  1. What should the shipped be named?
  2. How should everyone meet? (like is the crew already together but Claude has yet to be captured? Does everyone need to get together?)
@Yamatsu

Maybe we could set it up as everyone is together, Claude is already tied up but the heist just happened, leaving room for the escape.

Also, I think the name of the ship should be up to the captain.

Good idea with how to start! And I'm not really sure what to name the ship which is why I want a little feedback.

@Yamatsu

The boat could be an old cargo ship called the Fat Siren!

Unsinkable II also works.

I like the fat siren, lol. I was thinking it would be more of a lightweight schooner though, so I'm not quite sure it fits.

person_off

Maybe the shameful god or the silverfish?

@Euric_Knight

If you go to a pirate ship name generator they've got a lot of weird names lol

person_off

Yeah, I found a couple wacky ones. What do y'all think of Neptune's Whore?

@Euric_Knight

Definitely

@Moxie group

Yes I like that one
Are we going to be able to start today?

Damian surveyed the room quickly, taking in the scene. He'd managed to sneak the crew up into the house with a little help from Thaddeus but it looked like their foray into the manor had finally been detected. A servant was screaming for help on the first floor, unaware that the trespassers she feared were right above her, tying up the general's son.

All they needed to do was get the brat onto the ship and make a clean getaway while the winds were high. Then he would be a little closer to his revenge and the crew could ransom the kid off for as much cash as they'd ever need. "Lydia, get him," Damian nodded towards Claude, "Out of here. Drew and I can distract the guard and loop around for the whore once you send the signal."

group
@Moxie group

Lydia nodded once. "Got it." She grabbed the kid around his legs and threw him over her shoulder. "Let's go, Brown." She slipped out of the room they had been standing in and into the empty hallway. Lydia knew someone could come down the hallway any second so she pushed open a servant's door. It was barely recognizable, but she had spent six months working in a manor, not unlike this one when she was a teenager. The narrow staircase was empty and she took it up and up and up until she reached the ceiling with a wooden panel in it that didn't match the rest of the roof. She used her shoulder to push it open and stepped out into the wind on a steep roof.

Claude just sighed as this all happened, it wasn't the first time. "Can I at least get some of my books? I have a feeling I'm going to be very bored during this." His expression was deadpanned, he really hoped it wasn't pirates again, though it probably was.

@Euric_Knight

Drew nodded and leaned against a wall, listening for footsteps coming towards the room. He suspected distracting the guard wouldn't be difficult, but waiting for signals always got him antsy. He could hear people running around, but not anyone towards him. The manor's layout wasn't hard to figure out while being inside of it. The majority of them seemed to be almost the same; large entry foyer, staircases on either side, hallways linking to all of the rooms. These rich folk should really invest in better security. Sure, they have good guards and locks, but that's it really, Drew thought.

Damian peered out the window of the bedroom they'd ended up in, watching as soldiers from the nearby fort started trickling towards the house. It was late at night, most of them seemed half asleep. This was going to be easy. He pulled the musket from his back, lining up a good shot to pick off a few of them. "Drew, how many should we kill before we head for the city?"

@Euric_Knight

"Two to five always leaves a nice mark, but feel free to do more," Drew answered, grinning. He turned his head make to the wall to continue listening.

"I always do." Damian grinned as well, shooting one of the soldiers right between the eyes. He collapsed to the ground, sending the people around him into a panic. One of them pointed up to the window Damian was leaning out of, alerting the rest of the soldiers to their position a few seconds before Damian could kill him. The remaining group ran towards the manor. Guards started charging up the stairs towards the bedroom. "We're about to have company."

@Moxie group

"Shut up," Lydia hissed. The wind whipped her coat around her. She scanned the ground and spotted guards. Most of them were running towards the house, but a few of them remained on the ground, guarding it. She had to get out of here, or they were going to spot her and then the whole operation would be jeopardized. Her footing at the moment wasn't the best anyways and she would prefer not to go out by breaking all the bones in her body if she tumbled to the ground from three or four stories up. She leaned against the wall behind her and slid so she was sitting. Once sitting Lydia turned so her feet were facing down. "Hold on." She gave herself a small pushed, held tight to the kid and slid down the roof to a flat part that overlooked the grounds, and beyond that, the ocean.

@Yamatsu

"Oi!" Thaddeus shout-whispered to Damian. "We're about ta have wot?"

With their cover already blown, Damian felt no qualms about yelling "Company!" right into Thaddeus' good ear. The guards were tossing open the doors in the hallway and they were 4… 3… 2 doors away. "Get ready for them ya' fucking lug."

@Yamatsu

Thaddeus grinned maniacally, pulling the Hydra out from behind his back. "Born ready, scratch-post!"
Rather than waiting for the guards to come in, Right-Ear kicked the door open and leveled his gun at the crowd of guards rushing them.
Shh-BOOM!
The Hydra called out to the incoming adversaries, whose immediate response was to either cower in fear or lay dying on the nice carpet.
"Go! Go! GO!" Thaddeus shouted, pushing everyone towards the nearest exit.

Lydia dumped Claude to the ground and grabbed the rope that was slung over her shoulder. With the guards on the ground, plan A wouldn't work, so she was moving on to plan B. She started to fashion the rope into a lasso and swung it until it hooked on to a sturdy branch that was close to the outside of the tree.
