Zoi Rinaki hates her life. She can barely get through a day without looking at something sharp and wondering what would happen if it cut into her just deep enough. Her drunkard father—or, rather, guardian—beat her for no reason other than existing, as she was the product of her mother's affair before the two officially split. Her mother was in jail for multiple DUIs and possession of drugs. At school, she was constantly seeking the shelter of one of the bathrooms to ease the panic rising in her chest and constricting her lungs. Her grades were slipping. Her father got angrier. Her issues got worse. Layer on the mortar and add yet another brick to the wall.

Zoi's only solace is her mind. There, she can escape to fantastical places and see so many different kinds of peoples and creatures. There's the one boy that always appears in her dreams, no matter where her mind takes her. She would like to see him again. And again. And again.

Things get rougher in reality, and Zoi spends more time in her room, sleeping, dreaming. Visiting these lands and talking to this boy. Little by little, her spirit is escaping her human body to visit these lands—real lands—only to be yanked back to reality once she wakes up.

"Place a curse upon my head; make me sleep 'til I am dead."

Perhaps a curse can be her salvation?

I shouldn't be making another rp when school is starting and whatnot, but I've created this quote and fell in love, so I decided to make a rp based off of it.

  • Don't have to be very active, but please try to move the story along when you do reply.
  • Swearing is fine
  • Romance, but also a dash of adventure when Zoi is in the fantasy land
  • Uhhh
  • If I say no, it's no

"I love you all." The blood from her leg made a puddle under her. Zhavia wasn't sure if she was dying from blood loss or poison anymore. "Dying is scary. I didn't think it would be this scary." More tears stained her colorless cheeks. "I'm sad they aren't here with us." Uriah was confused, there couldn't be more people she cared so deeply for that she would want here. "Who?" He asked, trying to remain as calm as possible. The last thing he wanted was to freak out and make things worse. She smiled as her hand slipped from his hand. "My family. Alexander, Eira, Sparrow, Zoe, and even Luna." Her breath became shorter. "I can't fight anymore, I'm so tired." Uriah shook his head tears finally falling down his face. "I'm just going to sleep for a while." Zhavia knew as soon as she closed her eyes, they wouldn't open again. One more tear slid down her cheek as she took her last breath. "Damnit!" He had to walk away A surge of anger and sadness consumed him, and a need to take all of it out, the quickest thing he could think of was the fagger Cyrus gave him. It flew through the air and hit a nearby tree. Why? It was extremely hard for him to accept, he wanted it to be a dream. His legs gave out from under him and he fell to the ground and sobbed.

Sweet! You're in! Lemme get a template up. Any questions you have before I do that?

@Fantasy-Illy!

Am I the guy? And also is he supposed to be nice or a bit like a dream snatcher or something?

group
@ElderGod-kirky group

Yes, you're the guy. And he can be however you want him to be. The only 'requirement' is that he's in the fantasy world that Zoi dreams about, which happens to be an actual place.

@Fantasy-Illy!

Cool, cool.

@Fantasy-Illy!

Name: Caspian (no last name.)
Gender: Male
Age: 19
Sexuality:straight
Race: Sorta of like a magician, but real powers instead of simple tricks. Other than that he's human, but his title is magician.
Looks: https://pin.it/x54nv3tekonb6v
Tattoos:(opt) a hummingbird on his left shoulder blade
Piercings/jewelry:(opt) ears are pierced
Scars/distinguishing marks:
Preferred style of clothing: https://pin.it/unrbms7dy3psd7 Suff like this.
Personality: He's kind, but definitely has a dark side. He was always told he was a bit messed up as he grew up because the things people thought were bad or scary he actually enjoyed. He can be a flirt, and likes messing with people. He's spontaneous and loves doing fun things, but gets bored easily as well.
Background: He lived in a small town with his mom, but when he was about fourteen, he was asked to work at the palace (Just assuming there is one.) To be the kings head magician. The king noticed his talent and asked him to come, and of course he said yes. He then went to the place and worked for the king up until now.
Magic:(if applicable) I'm just going to say he has all four elements. Sort of like the avatar.
Other: Not sure.
(Is this good?)

((The world is pretty much like filled with all sorts of mythological or fantastical creatures, such as dragons, sea monsters, elves, nymphs, kelpies, yadda yadda. And he can have multiple powers, as long as they aren't too OP. The more powers, I'd say, the simpler they are.))

@Fantasy-Illy!

Name: Zoi Rinaki
Gender: Female
Age: 18
Sexuality: Straight
Race: Human
Looks: https://pin.it/73gbrp36hoy7nv, but her hair is super long, as she has never cut it before.
Tattoos: N/A
Piercings/jewelry: N/A
Scars/distinguishing marks: A bunch of scars on her arms from attempted suicides, as well as seemingly permanent bruises all over her body from getting beat up all the time.
Preferred style of clothing: Anything baggy or comfortable, such as sweats. Pajamas are preferred. If she doesn't have anything to hide, she likes flowy/loose clothing or leggings. Will always love sweatshirts though, or at least oversized knitted sweaters.
Personality: Very self-conscious and shy, and tends to keep to herself. Very curious by nature, and has a wild imagination that never seems to falter. Doesn't like to feel like she's going to upset someone, so she tries to say and do as little as possible when around people.
Background: Her mother had an affair and had Zoi, then divorced her husband for the man she had the affair with, leaving Zoi with her pissed off, non-biological father. Yay. She experimented with so many sharp objects as a child that she was banned from anything sharp, which included scissors, needles, knives, etcetera. Even people who knew what they were doing, such as hairstylists, weren't allowed anywhere near Zoi with sharp objects. She grew out of this strange obsession, but she still isn't allowed near sharp objects. Her father beats her on the regular, and she just feels worthless and depressed when she's not dreaming or retreating into her head.
Magic: Nadda
Other: Will curl up in a ball as much as possible, mostly out of habit. Drawing constantly, oftentimes explosions of images that come from her mind and make no sense to anyone but her.

"And to find x, you have to…"

Zoi wasn't listening anymore. She was in the back of the classroom, legs pulled up against her chest, and her folds and folds of black clothing engulfing her thin body. Her chin rested against her knees as she leaned over them, drawing bursts of toothy grins and clawed fingers and twisting bodies. She didn't know exactly what she was drawing, as she was zoned out now at this point.

Maybe just a short daydream won't hurt…

She fixed her unfocused gaze onto a random spot on her sketchpad, and reality already started to fade away, making way for the much brighter and safer land of magic and color.

@Fantasy-Illy!

(Sorry I got busy last night then fell asleep.)
As he walked down the stone path way, the smell of freshly baked bread filled the air. It was still early morning and only a few shops were open. As people walked by they would nod. Caspian had a reputation, the kings magician, and someone who doesn't take things to seriously. He nodded back to be polite. His favorite spot was a huge tree that shaded nice green grass, and right in the other side of a bridge. You could clearly hear the water as you laid there. It was relaxing. As he took his last step, he noticed a girl, a girl he'd never seen none the less in his spot. "Hello?" He was leaned over her, his grayish white hair hanging in his face.

Zoi yelped and scrambled away from the voice, her heart skipping a few beats while simultaneously going into overdrive. She nearly tripped over her own feet in an attempt to escape the male voice. She was no longer in her math class, that she was glad of, but being scared out of her mind upon coming here wasn't exactly the sort of welcome she had in mind. Once she had distanced herself from the stranger and got her footing, she surveyed him with wide and fearful eyes. Even in her sanctuary, she was cautious and afraid. Old habits die hard. Really hard.

@Fantasy-Illy!

Caspian stood and gestured to where she was laying. "You seem new to town, so I'll just tell you. This spot right here, is my spot, which means it's a no-no to anyone else." He watched as she scrambled back and onto her feet. He could suppress his laugh, but a smile was a bit harder. Caspian had never met anyone so jumpy. "Sorry didn't mean to scare you." He was genuine about his apology, but his tone sounded as if he was joking.
(Sorry it's short. I'm a bit busy.)

@ElderGod-kirky group

((it's okay. I'm gonna be busy later today))

"N-no, I'm sorry. I wasn't paying attention and was in your spot." Zoi then clamped her mouth shut and ducked her head, fingers twisting together and grabbing onto her sweatshirt, her anxiety already kicking up with his tone and smile. He's mocking me. I've upset him, and he's mocking me. Her treacherous mind instantly thought of all the ways she must've offended and upset him; twisting his smile and words into mockery and punishment. She hated thinking like that, but that was how she grew up thinking.

@Fantasy-Illy!

Caspian's smile quickly disappeared when he noticed something was off with this girl. Is she okay? Taking a step forward he examined her more thoroughly and noticed a few things. She was skinny, and had cuts all up her arms. "Hey, seriously I didn't mean to scare you. Are you alright? Do you need food?" Caspian couldn't stop all these questions he had. Who had treated her so bad? Sure he was a flirt and pulled a few pranks, but he would never treat a lady this badly to where she would want to hurt herself. "You know, there's this food joint in town that I know will change your life if you eat there. Would you care to join me?"
(Sorry if it's not good. I've been sick all day.)

((Hope you feel better soon!))

Her gaze bounced around his face, searching for any sign of ill-intent or lies. She couldn't find any, and by his frown quickly replacing his smile, he was being serious as he asked about her wellbeing. However, no matter what she saw and heard, she was still scared. She wrapped her arms around her stomach, showing just how skinny and malnourished she was, and shook her head. "I don't want to be a burden. I'll just be on my way and leave you to…" she vaguely gestured to the spot where she had just fled from. She didn't know what he was doing here, so she shut her mouth for fear of getting it wrong and angering him. He's just trying to be nice. He doesn't really want you with him. He'll let you leave and then never think of you again.

@Fantasy-Illy!

A girl has never rejected me before. A new smile spread across his face and he held out a hand. "Well, it's a good thing I'm persistent." She was pretty, no matter how she looked. Cas was all that picky as well, but compared to some of the girls around here, this girl was interesting. "The food is really good. You won't regret it." He wiggled his fingers, urging her to come with him. He may seem strange, but he was kind, most of the time.

group
@ElderGod-kirky group

Zoi bit her lip and dropped her gaze to his offered hand, her mind wheeling through all the possibilities of what the slight wiggle to his fingers meant. Body language was key in her life; she wouldn't abandon that instinctual observation for this man. She grabbed a chunk of her hair and combed her fingers through it repeatedly as she looked back up at his eyes—those pale and mysterious eyes of his, highlighting the growing smile. "Ar-Are you sure? I don't want to be a bother, and I can't exactly pay you back. . ." She trailed off and held out her free hand, palm up, as if to show him he was making a mistake.

@Fantasy-Illy!

"Alright," Cas took the girls hand gently and smiled. "Follow me." As they walked through town many people watched. It wasn't unusual for Cas to have a girl by his side, but almost everyone knew each other in this town, and this girl is someone no one knew. "So, where are you from?" Cas asked, making sure to walk at her pace. They were coming to the part of town where all the bakeries were at, and the smells were heavenly. No one could resist. *Who exactly is this girl?" He took a side glance and observed her carefully.

group
@ElderGod-kirky group

"Okay," Zoi said softly as Cas took her hand, still nervous and hesitant around him. But when they walked through the town, she couldn't help but admire everything around her. This place was by far a dreamscape, better than any place she could visit on Earth. The divine scents coming from the bakeries made her mouth water. Even the people gawking at her couldn't make her want to curl up into a little ball and disappear. This is where she loved to be. In a dream.

"So, where are you from?"

That brought her out of her daze, and she curled in on herself slightly as she looked up at Cas. "U-Um, nowhere you know of. It's not really important."

@Fantasy-Illy!

"If you say so." Around a corner was a small little place that didn't look like much, but it was one of the most famous places around here. When it first opened not many people went there, but when word got out of it's amazing food, everyone was obsessed. "Ah, here it is." The sign above the door read Gillahgins harvest. Weird name, but Cas actually liked it. When he opened the door he was greeted by many smiles and hello's. A waiter took them to Cas's usually place. The second floor. The view was best up here, and with how uncomfortable she looked he figured a place with less people would be best. "Here sit."
