Amber sucked in her breath. "What time," she finally said in a tense voice. She crossed her arms across her chest and slowly let her breath out.

"Nine?" Kiger asked, hope blooming. "I don't usually go to bed for a long time, so I'm free for as long as we want."

"Fine…" Amber sighed, slowly relaxing, but still wary.
"Great!" Kiger said with a grin. "I'll uh…see you then, then?"
As if on cue, he heard a shout from the forest and heard his friends looking for him.
"I have to go, but be here!"

"Oh, uh, okay then…" when she got back home, the first thing Amber did was look up "Kiger". Over five million hits.Well, that was just great. Was this person even real, or just a figment of her imagination?

Kiger paced the forest anxiously, staring regularly up at the moon as he waited for Amber to arrive.
What if she's not coming? he wondered. Sighing in frustration, he threw himself down into the grass, closing his eyes and trying to calm down. She'd either be there, or not. He'd wait ten more minutes, then leave.

Amber sighed, holding her cat close, tucking in her wings with her hand. Maybe… whatever, it was just a meet-up. Nothing more. Or, perhaps a meet-up with her mind. She scoffed. Ugh, whatever this was, it better not be a setup. As she walked into the clearing, she glanced around nervously.
Kiger didn't notice her arrival, he was too caught up in his meditation, trying to keep his mind calm. He focused on slowing his heart, keeping his breathing even, eyes rested closed. He'd never been this close to finding out why he could see an entire set of people that no one else could see, and he was thrilled by the thought, but was determined to keep his cool.

"H-hello?" she called out, nervous. Of course, she could only hear the voices, and couldn't see the people behind them. What if there was more than one person? Crap, she'd forgotten to take precautions…
Kiger shot up like he'd been launched from a rocket. A grin split his face.
"Hi! You came! Oh, my gosh. I can't actually believe you did."
He paused, tilting his head. "Soooo….you can hear me, right?"

"Y-yes, I can hear but not see…" Amber stumbled on her words, looking around. She bit her lip, taking a deep breath in an effort to calm herself.
"You can't see me?" Kiger stopped smiling in confusion. "Okay…well, I'm over here, to your left. Do you think there's any way you can see me?"

"Well, yes of course I can't see you. I've been hearing voices all my life, and diagnosed with schizophrenia. It's not easy living with a mental condition you know you don't have." Amber scowled, remembering old memories. "And probably not, unless you touch me again."
"Oh, wow, that's awful," Kiger sympathized, blinking. "One of my friends hears voices too. They tried to diagnose him with schizophrenia, but he faked it on some of the tests and they sort of gave up. But you said you can see me when I touch you? I guess that makes sense."

"Well, he's lucky then. My mom practically forced the doctors to give me a diagnosis," Amber looked down, hugging herself.
"I guess," Kiger said. "I bet that's tough, having everyone think you're schizo when you're really not. Boss, my friend, he said he didn't want everyone feeling sorry for him or scared of him all the time. Is it like that for you?"

"I… I just want to be normal," Amber sighed. Why was it so hard for everyone to believe that she was normal? These voices she heard, they were real, she was sure of it. But second-guessing herself, what if they weren't real? What if they were right, she did have schizophrenia? What if she really was talking to herself?
"I don't think being normal is all that great," Kiger said with a shrug. "I mean, if you do, i'm not here to invalidate that, but I'd rather see things that aren't there. At least then I know who I am. I don't have to doubt myself. What other people say doesn't matter so much to me, not anymore anyways. I know what I'm seeing, and that's all that matters anymore."

"But… I constantly feel like there's something wrong with me, that maybe because I hear voices, there must be some condition I suffer from. Sometimes I wonder if I'm just hearing the echoes of my subconscious," Amber looked down, and sighed again. She seemed to be doing a lot of sighing lately.
(sorry, I keep being sooo late, we're just super busy TwT I promise I'm not abandoning this at all I'm super hyped for it ^^)
"Well, for what it's worth, I'm real," he said, offering a grin he realized a little late she wouldn't see.
"Hey, can I touch you? Just so you can see me, too. It feels a little unfair that I can do both."

"Yeah okay… just… try to warn me when you're doing it. Last time it was really sudden, and you scared me," Amber bit her lip, nervous. Maybe she should close her eyes so it wasn't surprising? She closed her eyes, and waited for Kiger's touch.

Kiger wined. "Yeah, sorry about that. Okay, I'm gonna grab your hand, alright? In three, two, one…"
He reached out and tentatively took her hand, crossing his fingers behind his back. "Can…can you see me?"

(No problem! I totally understand! I love this amazing community of people, and I try to get on when I can, but sometimes, all I have time for is one rp or thread, or I'm just in a mood where I'm anxious and I'll just be trying to get a response back from someone, or new activity in a thread.)
The faint outline of a male appeared, getting stronger by every second. She flinched back, still not expecting it to be so sudden, but relaxed as her brain immediately recognized the shape as Kiger. "Y-yeah…" she stumbled. This whole thing was still so new to her.
(Yes, I feel that immensely xDD I think it's most important to take the time for yourself above all else ^^ Otherwise you just burn out and quit everything xD)
"Hi!" he said cheerfully when he saw her focus on him. "Kiger. I guess we already met, but, uh…this makes it official?" He offered her a smile, secretly thrilled that this was working so well. He was elated to finally be talking to one of the (not) angels he'd seen his whole life.

"Um, sure, I guess," Amber replied, looking up at Kiger. "Did you have anything in mind? Now you've met me, what else?"

Kiger thought about that for a second, and drew a big blank. "Nope, I guess not," he said with a sigh. "I feel like there's a grand adventure to be had here, but I'm not sure how or where to start."
He laughed a little to himself. "Books make it seem so easy. Do…you have any ideas?"

Amber shook her head. "No, sorry."
"But why do you think it's an adventure?" she added, after a long pause.
"Well, cause it has to be, right?" he asked. "This kind of stuff doesn't just happen, there's got to be some reason, or something that will help us figure this out. Maybe it's just wishful thinking though."

"I'm not so sure it's an adventure, but I see your point," Amber replied. "I'm leaning towards more of a 'perhaps it's more of a mystery,' type opinion."
"Ooh I like that even better," he enthused, getting into the mood right and proper by now. 'You're right, it's much more of a mystery. We need to figure out how we can see and hear each other. Uhh…I don't suppose you have any ideas?" he asked with a grin.
