M chuckled gently with her, adjusting his grip on her. “It would be. I am glad I am making you feel comfortable.”

Maelia shifted so her chin was resting in M's chest and she could look up at him while she spoke. "You've made this trip really something. I dread having to return at the end of the week."

M blinked a couple times, like he did when he was shocked. “You’re leaving?” He didn’t want her to leave. She should stay. That’s a good plan.

Maelia nodded, trying to decipher his expression. "Well, I do have to return home sometime. This is only a visit to see my brother and his new life." She smiled. "A truly wonderful life he has now."

“Oh.” With her gone, he’d just return to his grumpy old-boss-man anger. He didn’t want that, either.
“Well…. I don’t know what to say, honestly.”

"Oh! I'm just making conversation! I–I…" She hesitated, unsure if she annoyed him. How did she tell him that she wanted to stay? Was it od to come this close to someone after only knowing them for a single day?

M nodded quickly, urging her to continue. “It’s okay. I understand. It’s just… you know, I think it’d be nice if you stayed.”

Maelia's grin flashed so quickly across her face, it was a wonder if it even was there. "But, I couldn't impose on my brother like that. And I have no job…." She would be nothing without her parents wealth, they had made sure of that so she could not leave without their permission.

M chewed on his lip, thinking it over. He could let her live in his spacious countryhouse, which was never used and in excellent condition.
“You could live with me. And I’d find you a job, if you wanted one.”

"Live–Live with you?" Maelia asked, sounding more scandalized than she actually was. She wasn't opposed to the idea considering how much she was beginning to realize she liked M. "Would I be able to work with Braith?" She asked, wanting to make it seem like she would make the move for her brother, she did not want to appear clingy or so attached to him already.

M shifted up in his agitation. “Well-only-only if you want.” Despite being able to clearly read her thoughts, her tone when he suggested it unnerved him. “Ypu’d be able to work any job!”

Maelia realized she made a mistake and hastily spoke to explain. "I did not mean any offence! I am very grateful you offered!" She stuttered unsure of how to explain that it would be wildly improper to live with a man she just met and was not married to.

M nodded hastily, grinning a little nervously. “Right! I totally understand that!” He lied straight through his neat, white teeth. “W-will you? Live with me?”

Maelia balked at him, had she spoken her thoughts allowed? And even so…he still offered to have her live with him. She wondered how Braith would react and dreaded how her parents would. "Yes." She said suddenly as if the word was pulled from her by the Gods.

(Neo??!! No not at all. He could use a little more development in the motivations/ flaws/ prejudices areas (I have trouble with these too), but he's not a Sue at all. Why?)
