"Okay. Promise you won't scream?"

The year is 2119. Mankind has spread to the stars, though not very far. There are colonies on Mars and the Moon, and even one on Alpha Centauri, with space stations orbiting many of the planets in our solar system. The one thing that hasn't been found yet? Aliens. There's been traces, sure. Radio signals, a blip and then gone. Ghosts in the system. Inexplicable objects that shoot past on the sensors, too fast to hail and gone again in a blink.

Your character is a young person living on either Earth or Mars. They and their best friend, Lux, spend their days in school and dreaming of their futures among the stars, laughing together and wondering what else is out there in the vast, wide universe.

Lux, though, is hiding a secret. A rather large one. They aren't quite…human. They've hidden this secret from their friend for years, and one day they are forced to reveal it to their friend, because they need their help.

Basically, I'm Lux and you'd be the other character. Sci fi, friendship. Could be romance, if you wanna do that, I don't really care either way. I just want,,, a soft, fun RP that also has some sci-fi elements? Idk how to explain it but do you get what I mean?

Gender and Sexuality: Their species' sex and gender binaries are different from humans, but their genitalia are pretty close to AMAB, and their preferred pronouns are they/them (more details about their species' sex and gender binaries will probably come out in RP; they use human pronouns and human terms to refer to their body and gender, though their species would use different words to describe similar ideas). They are pan, in terms of sexuality
Age: 17
Looks: Lux has warm, light brown skin, and green eyes. They have long hair hanging just past their shoulders, colored a dark purple. Most people assume that it's dyed or that they got genetically altered so it would grow in that tone. It grows that tone naturally, and has since they were born. They stand at about 5'8", with a slim, lanky body shape, and long thin fingers. They have white freckles dotted across the bridge of their nose, which they usually cover up with makeup so that people don't ask too many questions. Their friend has likely seen the freckles but, again, would assume them to be body mods, and that's often what Lux tells people they are. Their most unique feature? A pair of rabbit-like ears where a human has, well, ears. They pin these ears back against their head using hair clips, and cover them with their hair. A picrew

(gonna start with them hanging out after school, maybe? Lux has not spilled their secret yet)

Lux was laying across their bed, head hanging down and hair dangling towards the floor, a faint smile tugging on the corners of their mouth. "I hate Mr Gallow." they commented. "For science? He's boring as fuck. Have you ever had him?" there were quite a few teachers at their school, and Lux had had the bad luck to get Mr Gallow. Mr Gallow was, well, known for being a pretty shitty teacher, who could make any subject boring as dirt.

Lux flashed him a grin, rolling onto their stomach and looking down at Alex. "Eh, I guess so." they replied. "Either way, he can suck it. I hate him so much." they adjusted their hair, careful to ensure their ears were still hidden. "Anyways." they looked over at Alex. "What was your school day like today?" they didn't share many classes with Alex, so they hadn't really had the chance to catch up during the day.

"Not to anything?" Lux arched an eyebrow. They had always been curious, about everything, and while Alex was still their best friend, sometimes it was a wonder to them, that the other person could sleep through all their classes. Lux wanted to learn, even if the teachers were boring as hell and homework made them want to slam their head against the wall.

They shrugged. "Still though. You might miss things that aren't in the textbook." They said. Their attitude towards learning was very different from Alex, but that was okay.

Lux rolled their eyes. "Yes, that's what you have me for." They replied, laughing a little bit.

Lux hugged him back, still laughing quietly. "Yes, I'm sure that's entirely what our friendship is based upon."

Lux raised their eyebrows at Alex. "On my bed?"

They laughed again, putting a pillow on Alex's face. "I don't know, your own home?" they arched an eyebrow again.

Lux rolled onto their back, shaking their head a little. "Lazy." they teased.

Lux blinked, humming a little. "Mm, fine."
