Quest for the Rainbow // One-On-One // CLOSED

This is more interesting than it sounds, I swear.

The land of Fairytopia (so original, I know) is powered by the magic of the rainbow. The Rainbow shines in every realm of Fairytopia, night or day. Each fairy, elf, mermaid, etc. are powered by the rainbow, and are either one of the colours or a mix of the colours. With the rainbow shining brightly, there is no fear of danger. But when the colours of the rainbow start to fade and fairies lose their magic, no one knows what is wrong. The only cure is the Rainbow Pearl, which is at the bottom of Mermaidia, in the Depths of Despair. Two brave Mariposas (butterfly fairies) embark on a quest to retrieve it, under order of Queen Marabella.

Name: Giselle Stellaria
Age: 29
Gender: Female

Appearance: Giselle has waist-length blonde and brown (it’s more blonde, with brown laced through it) hair that is either in bun or braided in some way. She has stunning blue eyes with a darker rim around them, and are one thing that she is complimented on at first glance. She has tanned skin with a number of freckles dusted across her nose, though they are so close in colour to her skin that it is hard to see them. Of course, she has her wings as well.
Wings: Giselle has the largest wings in all of Fairytopia. They are a total of 3 or so metres in length. They span from 40cm-50cm below her waist to around a metre above her head. Because they are so big, she typically wraps them around her waist as a skirt when she is not flying. This makes for an effortless and unintentionally formal ‘dress’.
Giselle was born with large wings. They weren’t that much larger than average, but it was noticeable. And it was a sure sign that she would do things in the future. At age 7, Giselle fell in love with the art of magic. She begged the Royal Sorcerer to teach her magic, and he had no choice but to say yes. Over the next 22 years, Giselle became more and more skilled in magic. And her wings grew bigger and bigger.

Style: Giselle wears simple clothes. They consist of blue petals and leaves. She wears simple flats with vines that lace around her calf. At formal events, she wears dresses with exquisite tops and simple skirts.
Personality: Giselle is kind and caring. When things get serious and people don’t follow her orders, she can get angry and commanding. When faced against arrogant people, she is feisty, defiant and often protective.
Likes: Her sister, looking after her niece, magic

Background: Giselle was born younger sister to Marabella, by 12 years. Despite being a princess, Giselle found that she never fitted in. She preferred staying in the library going over spells than spending hours upon hours at a party that she couldn’t even fly at. Overtime, Giselle fitted into the role of Royal Sorcerer. Many Mariposas even forgot that she was the younger princess.
Giselle was happy when Marabella got married, excited when she became Queen and ecstatic when she had a daughter – Princess Catania. When Marabella’s husband died of a heart failure when Catania was only 2, Giselle took the young princess under her wing and looked after her when Marabella could not. This action caused Giselle and Catania to have an extremely good relationship.

Appearance: Averia has black wavy hair that falls down to just above her waist, she has pale skin with only a slight tan and is about 5'6. She has big brown eyes and a slightly curvy figure but is still pretty skinny.

Style: Her style tends to be darker to match the colour of her wings, so any dark coloured petals maybe a dark blue or a black if she can find them is she is wearing dresses. She tends to wears pants though and a black crop-top. She has small flat shoes in a dark blue and wears vines over her forearms.
Personality: Because Averia has nearly all black wings compared to the other colourful ones of the fairy's around her, she became a quiet and reserved fairy. She has little to no friends and doesn't like attention. She can come off as cold and heartless but when she warms up to a person she will do everything she can to protect them. She'll care for the sick even though she doesn't like to but will help anyone in need.

Dislikes: loud noises, crowded spaces, people in general
Background: Averia is a common fairy and lives on the outskirts of the city. When she was younger she was bullied for having nearly all black wings and she became closed off in fear of that happening again. Her parents died of a disease and her older brother looked after her for a while. Her brother soon fell ill to the illness and Averia earned that life is hard and is not fair in the slightest. she spent her time trying to learn the darker side of magic but doesn't tell anyone in fear of being killed. She has become quite good at it over the years.
Other: Has a collection of different plants in her garden that will help with her magic, potions and such.

"We need to go to Glacier Falls," Giselle explained. She and Averia were on the way to retrieve the Rainbow Pearl. "There we'll find the Frostites. They'll tell us how to get to the right place in Mermaidia to retrieve the pearl.

“I still don’t get why I was chosen to do this with you…” Avería grumbled, “But yeah, that sounds like a good plan..”

Giselle stopped for a little bit as Averia caught up with her. Having large wings had drawbacks, and being a fast flyer was one of them. "You were chosen by me. I've had my eye on you for a while and saw that you were right for this."

Avería rolled her eyes as she finally caught up to the princess, “Why though? I’m just a common fairy.”

"Who is gifted in magic," Giselle explained as they continued.

Avería rubbed at her neck, “H-How did you know about that? I haven’t told anyone…”

"I'm the Royal Sorcerer with access to everyone who uses magic. I can tell just by being near someone whether they use magic or not. I just wish I could tell if people used dark magic."

Avería instantly stiffened but she willed herself to relax, “Uh Yeah… yeah that would be helpful. Not to me at least…

Giselle suddenly shivered a little. "We're getting closer. I can feel it."

“Definitely getting closer. It’s so cold…” Avería hugged herself.

Giselle snapped her fingers, and the two Mariposas were suddenly wrapped in warm clothes.

“Cool. Thanks.” Avería gave her a tiny smile but it soon faded.

Giselle gave a soft gasp. The once beautiful sparkling blue land of Glacier Falls had grown dim and grey.

“How? How did this happen?” Avería asked, breathless.

Giselle looked up to see the blue fading from the rainbow. She turned to see her own wings fading to grey extremely slowly. "It's the rainbow. It's fading."

Avería swallowed and nodded, “Right. We need to hurry then.” She started to fly faster.

"I have a friend here," Giselle said. "We need to find her first."

Avería turned back to Giselle and nodded, “Okay then. Lead the way.”

Giselle looked around for landmarks. "This way."

Avería followed, slightly nervous as she didn’t know if this find of Giselle’s could detected when someone used dark magic otherwise she was screwed.

After flying only a few minutes, Giselle stopped in front of a home. She folded her wings down into a makeshift dress and knocked on the door.
