I had a kind of wacky idea for an rp. Basically I have some tarot cards that I haven't used in forever (I went through a witch phase last year and they were too cool to get rid of) so I was wondering if I could, like, randomly generate some characters using them. Idk, just a cool idea.

Anyways, normal rules apply, hmu if you want to try this out.

Cool! I don't really have the specifics for how to generate the characters, do you have any ideas? (rn I'm thinking I just pull three random cards for personality, two for backstory, and one for current situation and see what we get)

@CWPoofToxicRush

I think that works!

Cool, gimme a sec to lay it out. Do you wanna do your character first, or mine?

@CWPoofToxicRush

It doesn't matter to me, honestly.

Cool, I'll do yours then. Feel free to embellish and name them and stuff once you get the personality and backstory

@CWPoofToxicRush

Thank you!!!!!

Personality: Reversed high priestess (stressed and second-guessing decisions. Probably out of touch with themselves or their life), four of cups (feels like something is missing in their life, worried that they're playing things too safe and missing opportunities), princess of swords (Idealistic and full of energy, curious about the world around them, probably young/naive)

Backstory: Reversed 3 of pentacles (there was some kind of power struggle that resolved badly, either they lost or they were let in a really tense environment), ace of wands (went dream-chasing but, based on the 3, it ended badly. A search to awaken their potential gone wrong.)

Current situation: 9 of wands (Perseverance. They're trying to endure a bad situation and there's some kind of hope in sight.)

No problem!! Want me to send out a character sheet so you can organize the information into an actual person?

@CWPoofToxicRush

Yes, please. Think I have some ideas for a character, actually. Thank you so much!!!

(Here's mine, just so you know)
Personality: Reversed 2 of swords (stressed and easily overwhelmed, constantly battered with information and it's all too much), queen of pentacles (comfort and support, nurturing to those around them and makes people feel safe), Reversed 3 of cups (conformity to a group, feeling forced into a certain role and stressed by a work hard/play hard attitude)

Backstory: Reversed 10 of swords (something bad happened and they were the victim of it, they still carry emotional baggage), reversed 2 of wands (doubts and limitations still haunt them, probably the event from the 10, and they've been stalling on the road to recovery)

Current situation: 6 of cups (nostalgia and yearning for a better time, whistful for the past and the safety it offered)

@CWPoofToxicRush

Name: Cristabel "Crissy" Swallow
Age: 16
Gender: Female
Sexuality: *NSNYC voice Bi Bi Bi (Bi)
Appearance: Long wavy brown hair that falls to her waist, large brown eyes, fair skin, freckles, short, a bit scrawny.
Basic outfit/style: Soft grunge. Over sized band tees or ratty sweaters, worn ripped jeans or threadbare skirts, beat up converse.
Personality (basic, feel free to add some elements): Stressed and second-guessing decisions. A bit out of touch with themselves and their life because she doesn't want to be suck where she is. Feels like something is missing in their life, and is constantly worried that they're playing things too safe and missing opportunities. However, she still manages to be idealistic and full of energy, curious about the world around them, still a bit naive
Likes/dislikes: Likes food, loud music, guitar, sleep, stars, people with pretty eyes, the night. Dislikes adults (doesn't trust them), jerks, people from her past, getting close to people (scared of it), fire
Backstory: Her parents dies when she was younger. She had been handed off to her older brother, a new adult. He treated her horribly, finding ways to blame her for the deaths of their parents. But he seemed good to everyone, so the didn't believe her until the watched him burn her songbook- one of her most precious possessions, and tried to burn her guitar. She was removed and shuffled around foster homes, hoping and dreaming that some one will keep her. Instead, she was turned away, because no one wanted a damaged teenager who liked the more unladylike side of the arts. She ended up hiding her music and guitar as well as she could, convinced someone would like her if she put it aside and let them think she was normal and trying to bury her dreams until she could get out. She's stuck in one of the worse homes now, and is exploring the local music scene to see if maybe she could get out sooner than she thought.
Other: Not much

Name: Ophelia Jones
Age: 17
Gender: Female
Sexuality: Demi (mostly girls)
Appearance: Built like a dancer: tall and graceful. Straight black hair that falls to her shoulders, kept back in a messy braid. Dusty orange-brown skin (About this) that's smooth and flawless. Big expressive black eyes and a crooked smile.
Basic outfit/style: Chunky knitted sweaters in light grey and blue, high top converse, skinny jeans with ripped knees (because he's clumsy, not any fashion reasons), at least 3 bandaids or bandages at any given time, lots of rings, cute earrings, at least once necklace.
Personality: A real people person who lives to serve. Hates letting people down and acts as a mom friend to literally everyone around her, even though it's really draining. Rocks that 'overworked single mother' vibe. She has no sense of self preservation and will continue to care for everyone but herself until she literally collapses. Easily manipulated and very trusting even when she can't afford to be. Weathered.
Likes/dislikes: Likes cooking and writing poetry (she keeps a secret journal that nobody's allowed to read), and has an everlasting love of Poe and Lovecraft. She doesn't like letting people down and hates feeling like she's not good enough.
Backstory: Ophelia had a pretty good life until her mother died. She was fifteen, a drunk driver hit the car that mommy dearest was using to drive her and the kids home from school. Her siblings died instantly, her mother passed on later in the hospital. She was the only one who survived the wreck. Both her and her dad were sunk into a deep depression, and they both dealt with it poorly. Pops started putting more and more time in at work to distract himself which meant he was almost never home and Ophelia ran with a really bad crowd of kids. She managed to reform them a little and kind of became their go-to confidant, despite being considered a 'good kid' by just about everyone. Her dad still isn't home most of the time but she's starting to pull herself black together. At least, she was until her dad suggested they take in a kid from the foster system. Try and fill the hole left in their lives when mom and the twins died. They got into a screaming match over replacing their family but dad was deadset on it so Opelia had to accept that she was about to get a new sister.
Other: I had a plot idea, wanna hear?

@CWPoofToxicRush

Sure!! ((Also Ophelia has my uwus and is on my list of fictional children now))

(Aww, thanks. Crissy looks like a really cool character too!) What if Crissy gets put into Ophelia's house after her old home gets exposed for being really shitty and they have to deal with each other?

@CWPoofToxicRush

That sounds good!

Ophelia paced the hallway outside the CPS offices, turning back to glare poisonously at the office lable 'Santiago' every few minutes. That was where her dad and the replacement were sitting, going over the paperwork that would finalize the girl's position in their house. She hated whoever it would be on principle, almost as much as she hated her dad right now. How dare he try to replace everyone they'd lost with this- She winced, realizing she'd been digging her nails into her palms hard enough to draw blood.

@CWPoofToxicRush

Cristabel fidgeted in her seat, chewing her lip. Her shoulders were hunched over, her head down, and she really wanted to shrink into herself and disappear. The large duffel bag she had saved up to buy a few homes ago sat on the floor next to her, and she was at least glad to have her guitar hidden in there. No one had found it yet. Her songbook as tucked away at the bottom of the backpack in her lap. The man sitting next to her was trying to take her in. It wasn't anything she wasn't used to. The issue was that she was too used to it. She knew how she would end. They'd realize how not normal she was, and send her back, and she'd be shuffled around again. But maybe- nope. The chance of staying was slim.

Isabelle Santiago, the social worker who dealt with Cristabel most often, tapped her pen against the desk as she slid the last piece of paperwork across the table for Mr. Jones to sign. He did so eagerly, eyes flicking over to the girl and then back to Mrs. Santiago. He seemed so excited to take her in, though a glance out the window proved that the entire family wasn't too happy. His daughter stormed through the hall, looking like she'd seen the devil and put him firmly in his place. She laughed and turned back to the two in her office, picking up the forms and filing them away. "That's all I need from you two. Have a good one, Mr. Jones. And… Crissy? Stay out of trouble."

@CWPoofToxicRush

Crissy nodded softly, picking at a loose thread on her sweater , swinging her backpack over her shoulder and fixing her skirt as she stood before grabbing her duffel bag. "Yes, Ms. Santiago." She said, voice monotone. She saw the man leave the office. "Until next time." She said to Ms. Santiago before following him out.

Isabelle nodded at the girl as she left, already deciding those people wouldn't last a week with Crissy. She'd be back within the month.

Mr. Jones led her out into the hall where Ophelia was still pacing, setting a hand on his daughter's shoulder to try and calm her down. She slapped his hand away, glaring at the new girl. She hadn't dressed up the way her father had, clad in an old pair of sweatpants and a sweater that used to belong to her mother. It was a subtle reminder to her dad that they had a family and didn't need a new one. Her dad didn't seem fazed. "Cristabel, this is my daughter Lia."

Ophelia grimaced. "My friends call me Lia. You can call me Ophelia."

@CWPoofToxicRush

"Hi." Crissy said softly, still looking down. One person already hates me. Yep. End of next week at the latest. She chewed her lip again, not sure how to start any conversation. She stood behind the man slightly, just so she could see everyone. They're gonna send me back anyway. Should I bother with a conversation?
