Personality: Thea is quiet, submissive, overly apologetic but she works harder than almost anyone else and is determined to prove her worth to herself and her family. For the most part, she's an eager to please, loyal person who is more than keen to carry out any task assigned to her. Growing up, she was taught that rules were in place for a reason and not following them could lead to disastrous consequences so she follows the rules down to the letter, never doing anything that she knows will upset anyone. She's a well-mannered, sweet young woman who goes out of her way to make someone smile, often baking and painting in her spare time.
History: Thea was born to Patrick and Constance Bennett, two very weathly people. As their only child she was given everything, except for their love and approval. The two had wanted a son, an heir, but they got her instead. Her birth had been difficult and there were a lot of complications. Her mother would not have survived carrying another child. It's a fact they refuse to let her forget, often blaming her for them not having a son. In a sense it's true. Other than the lack of affection, Thea was a happy child who got a wonderful education and lots of lovely things to play with. Over the years she was molded into a proper young lady. A few years ago, a man by the name of Richard Montgomery began to show interest in her. This delighted her parents as Mr. Montgomery happened to be incrediably weathly and well-known in the community. Thea, on the other hand, did not share her parents' sentiments. She wanted to marry for love, not for rank. Unfortuntely, she had no say in the matter and was promptly married to Mr. Montgomery. It's been two years since then. Her husband isn't the kindest man but he makes sure that she's well taken care of, as long as she listens to him. She does whatever he asks of her, afraid that he'll once more raise his hand. The very first week of her marriage she learned that saying no is not an option. Therefore, she complies. It doesn't always get her out of a slap or a harsh reprimand or a beating but it does lower the chances of that happening. Recently, Richard has gotten more insistant that they spend their evenings in the bedroom. She's painfully aware that he wants a son or at least a child but she most certainly does not. Too frightened to say no, she just has to go along with whatever he does. It's far from the life she wanted.
Other: She owns a small black 20lb spaniel named Addie (an engagement present from Richard) and a white canary named Pearl.
Hello?
Bump……
Sorry, totally didn't see this. But I'm here now.
So is this more of a renaissance setting?
It's all good! It can either be set in the Victorian era or the Medieval era.
Whichever you want. I don't mind.
I don't really have a preference either.
Then what about medieval?
Yeah, that works with me. : )
Which do you prefer? girlsxgirl girlxboy
Well, you know my character is a girl so it's really whatever you're comfortable with. I'm good with whichever.
My character is supposed to work for her husband right? Sorry for all the questions by the way.
Yeah, that's right. It's completely fine. I don't mind answering questions.
Name: Dominic Moore
Nickname: none
Age: 25
Gender: Male
Description: He's about 6'3 https://pin.it/pc3qqnm4wkl7ok
Personality: ignoring how he looks he's actually a fun guy, he teases those he likes. Usually you can find him outside since that's his favorite place. But when he's around Mr. Montgomery he becomes serious despite hating the guy. Whenever he can though he tries to stay away from him. He can be a bit sarcastic. And although he has his silly side, he knows when to be serious. He can keep a level head most of the time in stressful situations.
Story: He grew up poor, and with a sick mother nonetheless. His father left them for a younger, rich girl. Dominic leveled his mother and that's why he did hard labor for years. Mr. Montgomery found him when he was 19 and like how hard working he was, so he gave him a job to be his one of his guards, promising to take care of him and his mom. But later on Dominic wanted to quit knowing he had enough to move him and his mom to a better place. But Mr. Montgomery, used that against him. Now he is keeping his mother hostage to keep him working for him. But about a year ago his mother died and Dominic still has no idea.
Other: Has a thing for Mr. Montgomery's wife, haha. (Sorry it took so long, and that I'm not good at making characters.)
(Don't worry about it. He looks great!)
(Thanks!)
(Should we get started?)
(Yep. Sorry I got a bit busy.)
(It’s all good. I’ll get the starter up in a minute.)
Theodosia moves swiftly through the halls of the large stone house. The occasional cream of wood or foot steps from the servants fill silence.
As usual, she's all alone in the all too big house. Other than the occasional appearance of one of the maids or servants, she doesn't see anyone all day. It's a lonely way to live. She sighs softly as she climbs down spiraling stone stairs. The house is truly lovely but it only represents pain, loneliness, and oppression for her. Forcing to do whatever her husband wants is far from the life she wanted but she has no choice in her matter. The marriage was forced upon her. There was no way she could have said no. It's not as though she can do anything now.
The sound of the front door opening catches her attention. It appears as though her husband is home. She lifts up her skirts of her pale blue and white laced dress ever so slightly so that her pace can quicken. Everyday at the same time he walks in the door and she greets him. Changing the routine would not end well for her and she's not stupid enough to even think of trying it.
"How was your day, darling?" She asks, reaching up to place a kiss on his cheek. "The same as always." Is the short reply that greets her. His lack of interest no long insults her.
Her small Spaniel, Addie, comes running up to her a second later, begging to be picked up. She happily obliges and scoops the little dog up, holding her close. The dog is her only constant companion. She doesn't know what she would do without her.
As per usual, she leads the way into the parlor. "Would you like me to ask one of the serving ladies to make us some tea?" She asks her husband, offering a soft smile. "Yes, yes, that is fine, dear," Richard tells her absentmindedly. "Marissa, could you please make us some tea?" She politely requests of the other woman when she enters the room. The brunette answers with a curt nod before leaving the room.
(Is it weird to say I'm a bit intimidated by your writing skills, haha.)
Like every other day Dominic had to go with Richard. He never liked it, but with Richard being so fond of Dominic's guard skills you could say, he kept Dominic close. Now, looking at Lady Theodosia was never a good idea. Richard was a jealous man, not because he cared for her, no, because he didn't like people looking or touching his possessions. He was a greedy, slimy man that didn't treat her right. Once Richard walked off with Lady Theodosia, Dominic relaxed and let out a sigh. The warmth of the house felt nice against his cool skin. The winter was never his favorite, but still, he didn't mind it. Taking off his coat he handed it to a butler and walked off towards the kitchen. Watching Richard work all day and making sure he was safe took a toll on his stomach. The chefs quite liked Dominic because he offered to help once in a while, even with knowing he could get in trouble. "Debby?" A smile crossed his face when he opened the door to see his favorite chef. She was short, a bit more on the chubby side and in her mid 40s. But she was kind, almost like a second mother to him. "I already saved you a plate. Come sit." She wobbled over to the table that was in the kitchen, so that everyone who worked here could eat in secrecy. Dominic watched her and it seemed her legs were getting worse. If only he could help, but anytime he offered, Debby would refuse. "Thank you." With that he sat and began to eat the warm soup in front of him, Debby even seemed to add some bread for him. He smiled thinking that she was extremely kind.
(You just put the biggest smile on my face so thank you! You’re also really great at writing! : ) )
Theodosia takes a seat on one of the chairs before setting Addie in her lap and facing the stoic man sitting across from her. “Did you talk to Count Weston about the Countess Weston’s……problem?” She asks, referring to the bastard child that had been brought into this world just a few short months ago. She hates to refer to a baby as a problem but referring to it as anything other than a problem gets her on Richard’s bad side. “Yes, I did. They decided to send it off to live in the country,” He replies shortly. That’s the polite way of saying that they gave the baby to it’s real father’s family. She supposes that it’s the nicest thing they could have done for the little one. Last she heard, Count Weston had wanted to drown the poor thing. The man is vile. He didn’t even have proof that his wife had be unfaithful. Paranoia certainly does horrible things to a marriage. “Duke and Duchess Pembroke are hosting another party. Our attendance is expected.” She holds back a sigh at this news. Getting out of the house is nice but the Duke and Duchess Pembroke are the most boring people that she’s ever met. Well, a chance to socialize is still a chance to socialize.
(Thanks. But I was trying to match your writing so I didn't appear like a bad writer. I'm just a bit self conscious about my writing.)
While Dominic ate he heard every word of Lady Theodosia and Richards conversation. Throughout the house were little horn like things you could talk through. So wherever Richard may be he could get what he wants without moving. What a lazy bastard. Dominic thought. But Lady Theodosia had a voice the was soft and elegant, Dominic never got tired of hearing it. Since the time she's been here, they have only said a few words to each other, it was mostly just hello's. How he wished Richard would leave him home one day, just so he could have a proper conversation with her. Plus it didn't help that she was beautiful and kind as well. Thinking about all this made him lose his appetite. Pushing the tray away, he leaned his head against the wall and sighed once more. He seemed to be doing that more often these days. "Honey, having any fascination with Lady Theodosia is a bad idea and you know it." Debby was always the one to straighten Dominic out and tell him when he needed to think straight. "Yes I know." Running a hand through his hair he continued to listen, since this was as close to Theodosia as he was going to get.
(You don’t need to do that, just write in the way that makes you most comfortable. My posts usually aren’t this long, I’m just in a detailed post kinda mood lol. Your writing is great!)
“When is the party?” Theodosia inquires, raising her brows as she wonders how much time she has to prepare. “Tomorrow.” Well, that’s certainly not much time at all. Her lips pull back in a thin pressed smile. There are a lot of preparations to make for the party and she’s just now hearing about it? Everything is going to be so rushed. “We may stay overnight so pack a bag. Dominic and Jane will be coming with us,” Richard informs her, not looking up from the letter that he’s busy writing. She once more stifles a sigh. At least Jane, her handmaiden, will be with her. Anyone is better company than Duchess Pembroke. It’s a horrible thought but she can’t help it. The other woman is dreadfully boring and very rude. “Excuse me, Richard, I need to go pack and make preparations for the party. I shall be in our bedchamber in you need me,” She politely informs him before standing up and brushing off her dress. This is met only by a grunt of acknowledgement. She pats her leg in order to summon Addie before heading up the stairs.
Of course, Dominic thought. Richard rarely went anywhere without Dominic, but at least he would be close to Lady Theodosia. He turned only to see Debby, with her hands on her hip and a frown on her face. "I won't do anything." He raised his hands in defense. It was almost like Debby could read his mind. "Anyway, she barely knows I exist. I'll be the only one who watches the other." Dominic knew he had no chance. Before this life he was a poor lowly commoner. That would turn anyone women away. These days they only wanted rich men, even if that meant they wouldn't be loved. The sound of scraping was heard when he stood pushing the chair back. "Thank you for the meal. I must be going now." Fixing his shirt, he made sure he was presentable. He walked out the door with a wave. Quickly he moved up the stairs and into the room where Richard was. If anything happened to him while Dominic was gone, he would definitely be punished. First he knocked on the door, since it would be rude to just walk in.
Theodosia pulls a suitcase out from underneath the dresser and sets it on top of the bed. The next few minutes are spent finding outfits for both herself and Richard and packing all of it into one suitcase. It falls on her to pick out the proper outfits for different situations that they might find themselves in. She also needs to arrange for a carriage, purchase a ham and some wine from the market as a gift, write thank you letters, and a million other little things. It may seem like much but having to cram all of it into such a short timespan will be difficult. "Jane!" She calls out, suddenly remembering that she needs to inform the handmaiden of the plans. A tall brunette hurries into the room a few moments later. "Please go pack a bag. It appears as though the Pembroke's plan for us to stay overnight." She then briefly explains the situation before sending the other woman on her way so that they can both get their tasks done.
Richard sits at a desk in the parlor, writing up a letter for King John. The two men are in the midst of planning something big. "What is it?" He calls out sharply, not wanting to be bothered unless it's a life or death situation. The chances of that being the case is low so he's less than pleased.
"Sir, it's Dominic. Did you want me to come?" Usually he was always beside Richard, but with the tone of his voice it sounded as if he didn't want to be bothered. Please say you don't need me. Dominic took a breath hoping his pray would come true. If he didn't need him, Dominic was about to do something bold, but stupid. Maybe it would be worth it though.
(Sorry it's short, I wasn't sure of what else to write.)
"No. I'm busy, go make yourself useful elsewhere," Richard snaps harshly, definitely annoyed now. That was far from a life or death situation. He scoffs and goes right back to writing his letter. It's a lot of information to try and pack into one letter so he needs to concentrate. Besides, this letter is confidential and his life currently isn't in danger so he doesn't need his guard with him. He can survive a few hours by himself.
(It's totally fine!)
