Melissa glanced back at him, still petting Cody. Sighing softly, she got up and left Cody to sit there. "Alright, I'm coming." She hummed, grabbing the sticks.
Romance Roleplay (Closed O/O)
Lucas moved out of Melissa's way and started petting Cody, seeming content for now.
Melissa was being extra careful not to knock it down, eventually getting the arms in. With that done, she stepped back with a little smile.
"Tada! Ready to go inside and cuddle and get that hot cocoa, Mel?" Lucas asked as he got to his feet and held his hand out to Melissa.
Melissa went to reach for his hand, but hesitated. "Mmm…" She hummed a little, leaning down and scooping up some snow. "I don't think so. Not quite yet, at least."
Lucas looked down at her curiously. "I thought you wanted to go in, though? What else do you wanna do?"
Melissa stood back up, giving him a grin. In a matter of seconds, she had tossed the small heap of snow at him, starting to run off. "That!" She grinned, glancing over her shoulder as she headed for the sidewalk.
"Hey!" Lucas flinched and grinned, gathering up some snow in his hands as he ran after Melissa. Once it was in a ball, he threw it at her. Baseball made his aim pretty good, so it hit her dead on.
Melissa felt the thud against her back, stopping in her tracks to gather more snow. She wasn't trying too hard to make them perfect balls, mostly trying to distract him enough so she could get away. Throwing it, she continued running on, heading back into the yard.
Lucas was able to form snowballs more quickly than Melissa and run for faster and longer, so it wasn't difficult for him to keep up. "You can't win, Mel!"
He was right on that. About fifteen minutes later Melissa had definitely slowed down, out of breath and tired. "Alright, alright… you win…" She huffed, the cold air stinging at her throat.
Lucas grinned brightly and hugged Melissa, only a bit winded. "Great! Wanna go inside now?"
Melissa practically collapsed in his arms, nodding some. "Yeah… sounds great…" She mumbled, head resting on his shoulder.
"I think you pushed yourself a bit too far, darling." Lucas picked Melissa up bridal style and carried her inside.
Melissa squeaked in surprise, looking up at him. "I- um… sorry… I can walk." She mumbled before burying her face in the crook of his neck.
"It's fine, Mel. I don't mind." Lucas smiled gently and kissed Melissa's cheek as he brought her in.
"Alright, thank you…" Melissa smiled weakly in return. Her face was flushed, and cold, but she honestly couldn't care less about how cold she felt. She was happy because she was here with Lucas.
Lucas lay Melissa down on the couch and wandered into the kitchen to look for some hot chocolate to make.
Melissa watched him go off, sitting up enough to take off her coat. "You need some help?" She called out, dropping the wet coat on the floor for now.
"Uhm… I just need you to tell me where you keep your hot chocolate." Lucas called back as he rooted through the pantry.
"It should be near the bottom shelf." Melissa called out, pulling a blanket around her as she got up off the couch.
"Alright, thanks!" Lucas soon found the hot chocolate and set to making it with a contented hum.
While Lucas did that, Melissa made her way over to the piano off in the corner of the room. It honestly looked like a desk, with paper and things piled up on the top of it. Clearing the stuff off, she pulled the lid open as she sat down in front of it, fingers running over the keys delicately.
Lucas looked up and smiled gently when he heard Melissa playing. The hot chocolate was almost done by now. As soon as it was, he brought it over to Melissa.
Melissa hadn't heard Lucas come in, humming softly to herself as she quietly played the piano. When he approached her, she looked up at him, the playing starting to stop. "Thanks, Lu…" She hummed, smiling softly.
"No problem. You sound lovely, darling." Lucas sat beside Melissa and sipped his own hot chocolate.
Melissa smiled softer, leaning over to kiss his cheek. "I would hope so. I've been playing for about three years."
Lucas returned the kiss, smiling gently as well. "Well, I don't know if I've heard you play before."
"Mm, that's true…" Melissa hummed softly, resting her head on his shoulder. "Thank you for the compliment, by the way."
"No problem, Mel." Lucas rested his head against Melissa's and hummed softly. "I dunno how to play."
