"A good fit huh? And what's in it for me?" He asked leaning closer with a grin. "Because all I see is how you benefit, but what about me?" Lebi asked once more. If he was going to join a pirate crew, he would need a good reason. And he didn't care much about gold or anything. Honestly he didn't care about much, so he was sure she wasn't going to convince him. And maybe if he jumped into the sea again this time he would actually perish. He looked around as some her crew were watching them carefully. Levi liked to think they were intimidated by him, well at least in the looks department. But they weren't all bad looking. He saw a few good looking girl pirates here. Then his eyes moved back to the Captain. She wasn't too bad herself, and he liked the way she carried herself. She was a badass and she knew it. It almost made him want to laugh.
Rough Seas (Closed.)
Cicada could see her crew watching them. The celebration having died down slightly, so they could watch the interaction. She pushed away from the railing and the captain before quickly turning around so they were mere inches from one another. Her eyes had a slight flame in the as she observed the captain before taking a step back once more. She looked him back in the eyes and said with confidence, "I can tell the riches won't tempt you, but how about an adventure? A chance to see what life's like from the other side of the world. We go where we please, do what we want, and nothing can stop us. But, if you don't want to join, we can drop you off at the next port town we stop at for supplies."
(Give me a moment. I had to post that unfinished since I was switching devices.)
(We're good now.)
With no hesitation walked over to the rest of the crew and smiled. He took a mug and filled it with beer. "A toast to a new adventure." He lifted his beer in the air, although others were quiet for a moment one man, an older man with a long gray beard stood and did the same. Once he did it everyone else joined in. "To new adventurers!" The shouted. Levi look over at the captain lifted his beer to her and gave her a wink before taking a drink. He decided not to drink the whole thing since he was still a bit sick, but he wanted to show everyone that he was on their side now. "In case you are all wondering, my name is Levi and I'm 23." Giving them his name was the first step, so they won't call him weird things and having it stick around.
Cicada laughed as Levi and her crew gave a toast to the adventures they were going to have. She gave an empty-handed toast since she had no cup of her own. She walked back to her crew and gave out a shout, "What are ya doing? Start playing the music again!" The crew let out another cheer and the hum of the party started back up again, everyone returning to dancing around the main deck and drinking heavily. She looked over to where Levi was, "To you, Levi, I'm Captain Cicada. Welcome aboard the Firefly."
(Cicada is a mix of these two, she got brown eyes and freckles also. https://www.pinterest.com/pin/317363104985468862 https://www.pinterest.com/pin/509680882801264343/)
"Glad to be a part of it." He leaned against the side of the boat and watched everyone dance with a smile. It was until a bolde gal with green eyes walked up to him. "What're you doin? This is here is a party, let's go." The girls in this pirate crew are very bold, Levi thought. "Sorry I don't dance." The blonde girl scowled and grabbed his hand. "I don't know what 'can't dance means'." She gave him a wink and pulled his body up. He wased to the dance floor by a beautiful girl, so he couldn't help but smile. "It's Lil, by the way." She said before moving to the music. She was a wonderful dancer and Levi did his best to follow her lead, but was failing. Lil laughed a few times by Levi's dancing. "Cap, why don'tcha teach him a bit." Lil gave a wink before walking away.
Cicada watched as Lil walked away leaving Levi in front of her. She let out a slight sigh at the wink. What was it with her crew trying to get her together with guys? First, the crew tried to get her with James, but then he got with River and all was well. She could spot the two boys dancing from behind her. Then they tried to push her and Phoenix together, which both fiercely rejected considering they were cousins. After that, it was Zanna, which didn't work considering she didn't like anyone. Followed by Breeze, who everyone quickly realized that putting her and the captain in a relationship together would be a very bad idea. Now it was the new boy Levi. Lord, she would never escape their meddling in her love life. She was only 21. However, she decided to amuse their attempts this time, "Well come on then. Let's dance old man."
"O-Old man!?" Levi's face was in shock, no one even dared to call him that. "I'm 23 that's not old at all." He said as he grabbed her hand and pulled her closer to him. "But I guess to an inexperienced child like yourself, I guess I would be old." He grinned down at her showing his white pearls. If she was going to play this way, he can as well. "It's okay." He dipped her and got close to her ear. "I can teach you many things from here on out." Levi whispered and pulled her back up. He wasn't going to let her get to him. Plus, he thought it would be fun to make a pirate captain fall for him, it would be a challenge, but it's a challenge he was willing to accept.
Cicada was unphased by his actions keeping a light smirk on the entire time. She could see what he was trying to do, but he wasn't the first to try to do so. She looked up at him from their close proximity it was quite apparent how short Cicada really was. She let her smirk grow a little more, "I'm only 21, darling. I've had plenty of experience with boys like you," She slipped out of his main grasp, but kept their hands together, "You want to dance? Then let's dance."
"Hm," He hummed with amusement. She didn't seem like the type of girl to be sleeping around with men. But maybe she has actually been in a relationship. Unlike Levi, who took enjoyment in the moment then was happy to be free from commitment. No one has even tried to tie him down, knowing his reputation, they just gave up and stuck with a one night thing. Unless they were lucky and got two nights. "Honestly I'm not sure how to dance. But I'm glad I have a beautiful woman to teach me." He smiled. The crew laughed at their interactions. It was like two alphas fighting for the main spot, while also trying to make them fall in love. It was weird yes, but this is just how Levi was.
Cicada wanted to snort and part of the crew snickered a little. She had no clue how to dance, that's why she stood off and watched during these types of celebration. She didn't actually show her humor and instead began to lead him out onto the main deck where everyone was dancing. The crew seemed to clear out wherever she went and she let a grin at him, "Then I'm leading us? Great to see who the true leader is around here."
"Ha ha, very funny." He waited for her to start leading him, hopefully he would catch on quickly and wouldn't embarrass him. "I'll follow you." The crew just cheered and laughed. "Are they always like this?" They seemed very invested in the Captain's life, almost as if they are playing cupid. Sorry mates, it's not going to happen, Levi thought. He hadn't fallen in love yet, and it's not going to happen now. (Sorry it's short.)
(That's fine!)
Cicada let out a slight laugh as she began to attempt to dance. She managed to keep in rhythm, even if it wasn't the best dance ever. She knew why her crew was laughing and cheering. The little devils needed to get back in line, another time maybe, "Most of the time yes. They enjoy meddling in places they shouldn't." Her eyes went past Levi over to Breeze who seemed to be heading the rest of the crew. She sent her a slight glare while the other girl simply gave her a mischevious shrug. Don't act like your innocent.
"That Lil girl seemed nice." At this point Levi wasn't even sure of what to talk about. It was awkward. Levi had trouble keeping up, but it was because he was slow, more like her moves seemed amateurish. "Are you sure you know how to dance?" He questioned raising and eyebrow, and smirked, slightly making fun of her. He thought it was funny When Cicada was riled up. He wanted to see many more sides to her. Right now she was a book with a lock, but soon enough he'll get it open.
Lil was one of the crew members that Cicada tok aboard to fill in the odd jobs and make their numbers seem bigger. She knew plenty about everyone in her crew, but there were a few she didn't know as well as she would like to. Cicada let out a slight laugh as she raised an eyebrow back as her gaze went back to the man she was dancing with, "Lil is one of the nicer ones aboard. More like saner. And who ever said I knew how to dance?" She never said she could, nor did anyone on the crew.
"I guess I just assumed since they were telling you to teach me." Levi and her probably looked like a couple of dancing monkey's to the rest of the crew. In all honesty, Levi was a tad embarrassed. "How long are we going to embarrass ourselves like this?" Did they really need to put on a show for everyone? I need a drink. Levi thought. He was feeling a bit better, and this would be easier if he were drunk.
Cicada let out a laugh and stopped dancing right then and there. She could see the crew still snickering and was well aware it was all in good fun. More of a mock initiation for Levi than an attempt to embarrass them. She let go of Levi's hands and gave him a bow, "How does now work for you?"
"Good… I guess." Cicada looked as if she was almost in on some sort of joke. Usually he would ignore it, but somehow it was bothering him. One of the crew mates. A bigger guy. Wrapped his arm around Levi. "Looks like you need a drink." Levi nodded and began walking away. The Big guy grabbed Levi by his Navy coat and slipped it off. "You don't need this anymore." Immediately Levi turned around to grab it, but the pirate threw it over the boat. No, no. It was to late, the sea was drifting it away. All Levi was in now was a white tight shirt that framed his muscles nicely. Lil Fanned herself and whistled. "Looks like we finally have a good-looking guy here." Many of the guys mumbling and shouted. "Kidding, kidding… sort of."
Cicada was watched as one of the crew threw off Levi's jacket. She let out a long sigh and looked over to Phoenix. Her cousin gave her a nod and went to go and fish the jacket back. Cicada would have to reprimand the crew member who had done it, her one rule was no one was allowed to just take and throw other crewmates possessions. Not unless given permission. She let out a sigh and walked over to her first mate, James. She could tell he was a little annoyed at Lil's last comment but seemed fine overall. She gave him a nudge in the ribs, "So what do ya think of him?"
"The new guy?" James asked back, "Seems like he'll fit in. Do you know where we're going next?"
"I was thinking Portia," Cicada told him, "We need to stock back up on supplies and I think it's time for a few of the crew to finally leave the ship."
"Like old man Jim?"
"Like old man Jim. I'm sick of playing babysitter for him."
James let out a deep laugh, "I'll let Zanna know then. Once she's not drunk that is."
Cicada looked out and sure enough, her black haired navigator was drunk off her ass. She let out a slight laugh and shake of her head, that is why Cicada didn't drink. She had no intention of doing stupid things such as the ones some of her crew were doing. Besides someone on this ship needed to stay sober.
Levi turned to the man and grabbed him by the collar. "I'm sorry about this." He said with a evil smile. Using the mans body weight against him, and threw him to the deck. "Listen I want say this again." He looked at everyone including the captain. "I don't take lightly to my things being taken." He glared, at the man now laying on the deck of the ship. It seemed as the party was over, it was all fun and games till this guy messed with Levi. He turned, and headed back down the stairs.
Cicada let out a high pitch whistle before letting it drop garnering the crew's attention. She stepped out onto the deck and over to the large man. Her voice was low and threatening. She shouted out, "It seems some of you need a reminder of the rules on this ship. My ship! We don't steal from eachother. We don't throw other's possession overboard. And we most certainly don't rip jackets off of other crewmates!" Her glare went down to the member on the ground and pulled her cutlass out on him, "I don't give warnings! And your lucky I don't feel like making you walk the plank. Next stop we make you are to leave this ship, or else my mind might change about the plank. Do I make myself clear?"
"Yes ma'am." He glared a bit as he stood and walked away. Levi felt like punching something. It was a Navy jacket of course the pirates don't want it around. The jacket was from his father, the man that left him as a child, he had no mother. He just left him, a ten year old child to fend for himself on the streets. The jacket was what he left him. Levi honestly didn't know why he kept it. Was there still a longing inside, one for his dad, or was it a reminder to never trust anyone. "Damn it." He sat on the bed a buried his face in his hands. His brown hair stuck to the side of his face from sweat. It's hot. He sighed and just sat there for bit.
Cicada watched him leave and sheathed her cutlass. She turned to the rest of the crew, “Go back to your stations. We’ll be sailing through the night.”
The crew nodded and dispersed. Phoenix, on the other hand, had gotten the jacket back from the water using a string and hook. The jacket was soggy and she had almost lost it in the ocean’s current a few times, but had retrieved it none the less. The younger pirate was the cousin of Cicada, but most people thought them to be twins. The only differences were Phoenix had hazel eyes and chopped off hair while Cicada had brown eyes and kept her hair long. Then you put them side by side and saw that Phoenix was much taller than Cicada, even with her lame leg. Phoenix hobbled over to where Levi had been told to stay and spotted him on the bed. She held the jacket in hand before tossing it next to where Levi was sitting, “There’s your jacket back. Don’t know why, but Cap’ told me to fish it out for ya. You can thank her later.” With that Phoenix turned and left Levi and went back to her station up in the crows nest.
The sogginess of the jacket felt uncomfortable on his lap, but he was grateful. "I'll have to hang this up somewhere." He walked back up and found a spot where it should be good. Having it dry down in the bunker wasn't the best idea. As he hung it up, Levi ran his fingers over the gold stars on it. Only bad memories came from this, but anytime he tried to throw it out something stopped him, as if this jacket were some kind of curse. Running his hand through his dark brown hair, his eyes wandered to Cicada. It would only be fair to say thank you. Making his way across the deck, he stopped next to her and watched the crew. "Thank you." He said quickly, it was weird for him, but she deserved it. His white shirt was now wet and see through, although he didn't care at this moment. When they stopped next he would buy new clothes since all his were properly at the bottom of the ocean.
Cicada wouldn’t lie if someone asked if she checked Levi out. He had a wet shirt on and she could see his physicality. It was for crew purposes only. The crew was slowly getting back to their stations. A few, such as Zanna, were too drunk to do so and they ended being escorted back to their quarters. She looked up to see a darkening sky before looking back towards Levi. She gave a slight smirk and a nod, “It was nothing. Elliot shouldn’t have thrown it in the first place.”
"So his name is Elliot." Levi crossed his arms. The sky got darker and the stars began to rise in the sky. This was one of Levi's favorite things about being at sea. The stars you could see them clearly. "Beautiful." He leaned back and looked to the sky. "So, why did you become a pirate? Is there some story behind all of it?" Levi was curious about this girl who became a pirate Captain, you don't see many Female captains. People must belittle her a lot. She's tough and knows how to control her crew, unlike Levi who just didn't are about much, plays with women and like his whole crew drown. He wasn't a good guy in the least. So having him aboard wasn't the best idea.
Cicada's eye went a little glassy as she thought back to the beginning. She had had to fight her way to the top, all while struggling with grief. Her eyes cleared up as she continued her gaze at the sky. Nothing could compare to this view on the sea. She glanced over at Levi, "Yes, his name is Elliot. But you don't have to remember that since he won't be apart of the crew for much longer. And what is to you? I'm not about to spill my life's story to some stranger."
"I guess you make a point. But.. I'm not quite ready to share my story." He was sure she was going to say the same thing. How did he expect her to share when he didn't, Levi was fine with that for now. Maybe in the future they will be more comfortable. "So, where ate we stopping next?" Levi was definitely going to be a wanted man from now on, if not by the government, then definitely by the families of those he let drown. Feeling guilty was something he never really felt though, although he wish he could.
